The REAL Patriots!!

So much is in the news about the health reform protestors, the teabaggers, the hate government groups, that we never hear that much about the great progressive groups who fought long and hard for reform. Here is a list from MoveOn.org and what they and others like them have accomplished. Makes me proud to support this type of patriotic group!!

  • 2,000 rallies and vigils attended by 150,000 people (see great highlights video  here)
  • Hundreds of face to face meetings with members of Congress
  • 7,813,682 petition signatures, 595,522 phonecalls, and 948,705 faxes
  •
  • 150 MoveOn Councils running powerful local campaigns in 44 states

  • 50,000small-business leaders, doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals supporting reform
  • 1,124,457(!!!) messages in one day during the Virtual March for Real Health Care Reform
  • $9.4 million raised for our campaign, and $5.6 million more pledged to support progressive primary challengers
  • More than 3,000 news stories about your work!

MoveOn wants you to know....This is YOUR VICTORY!!
And it gives all of us together the momentum to keep pushing for other changes America so desperately needs. This isn't just a victory for health care reform- it's a victory for progressives, for people-powered politics, and for the hope of future work to be done.
Feel proud, feel energized, feel your power, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, for all you do!.

These are the patriots, the lovers of America!

  1. It's all unraveling and people are starting to see what a bad deal this was.
By the way those rallies were before the bill unraveled.
Teabaggers don't hate government they just hate too much of it and the policies of this one.

  2. lisa,

The last Harris, Gallup, and USA Today polls all show a movement toward more people approving of the health care law.

It is the mad tea partiers who are unraveling--becoming violent--because they couldn't stop progress.

We don't really care what they think on Mars, you ignorant dolt. Down here in America, more and more people are in FAVOR of the legislation as they find out more about it.

Get your nose out of Limbaugh's taint for just a second and LEARN something.

  7. Oh, and you know, hundreds of thousands also stopped in DC to condemn the wars we're in. Somehow the MSM couldn't find any of THEM, but they always manage to find that gathering of 4 or 5 teaklanners with their misspelled signs.

  8. lisa, still on mars, sent in another one...

Let me get this straight......we've passed a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it,to be signed by a president that also is exempt from it and hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that's broke.

What does the President smoking have to do with any of this, you miserable cretin? I'll bet your mom smoked while she was pregnant, didn't she? Probably drank a whole lot too.

As far as the country being broke.... why didn't you get on your monkey, before he turned President Clinton's deficit upside down and then wrecked the economy? There are few things I despise as much as I despise a hypocrite, if indeed there are any.

Now go put on your white sheet, and get that cross you bound those kerosene-soaked rags to. Darkness will be here soon, and you don't want to be late for your "social club" meeting.

"7,813,682 petition signatures, 595,522 phonecalls, and 948,705 faxes"...I am proud to say that I was among each of these.

  18. I am proud to say I was too JJ!

lisa tried, poor thing. She'll learn one of these day, I hope...

    ReplyDelete
  19. lisa isn't going to learn; I've gone after her for probably years now, and it's always the same thing. Always.

Still.... she sharpens my teeth for when I encounter the Klanbaggers face to face.

  20. sorry JR, I just had to delete her. I know you have fun but sometimes she just grates my nerves. I can't figure out why she is obsessed with this blog!

  22. She's been around for years? That's why she keeps repeating herself. She's senile!

  23. My name's not Lisa, so leave me alone blog administrator.

It's nice to know, when I'm sitting here all by myself and I get an email from moveon.org asking for a signature, that there are millions of people doing exactly the same thing.

You aren't "special," Sue. She's infested the blogs of quite a few of our compatriots, and I've attacked her on nearly every one of them. I was a little surprised to find her here when I looked it over that first time, but you know.... I shouldn't have been.

"Lisa's Thoughts," her completely blank blog, has been around a long time too. I will at least credit her with being truthful on her own blog; she's never posted a "thought" there, because she's never had one.

  25. JR, I am too special!! ;-)

That is a nice thought Holte. I think we are pretty special don't you?

  26. lisa -stuff it. We won both the election and HCR - get over it.

I notice that all off our signs are spelled correctly too!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Awwww, Sue. JR loves to feed the trolls. ;-)

Now that it has passed the most recent polls have approval nine points up on disapproval, despite the campaign of lies from the GOP noise machine.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Lisa G and TC, yup the polls are showing a bump, I hope it turns into a friggin mountain and the thugs fall off on the other side! lol

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Republicans and bugger thugs are so stupid they don't understand that their rhetoric and behavior is turning off all Americans who are decent, law abiding and patriotic citizens.

To demonstrate and protest is one thing. To use racial slurs and to throw bricks and to cut gas lines is unacceptable.

  36. I notice that in many of the pictures posted the signs say "progress".

Progress sorta denotes movement. Movement implies direction.

Progress to what exactly? Where are we going, Sue? Do we know where, or are we just going to move without any destination in mind. Just one of the questions I always have.

I agree the smoking bit was stretching it, and you have a definite point about Dubya over spending.

For the record I was against his spending as well. Still, she sorta has a point about the rest, and just because Dubya started it does not give Obama license to accelerate to light speed. In his first year he did more to increase our debt that 8 yrs under Dubya.

  39. Guys, Tea- Bagger is bad enough, now you gotta throw the Klan in there.

Sad. Just sad. And offensive really. I am not a Klansman. I dont even know anyone who is. Never actually seen one in real life.

    why am I automatically racist?
