That's right. He actually said that. I am convinced that is what catapulted him to stardom much more than being the son of sanitized, ultra-libertarian Ron Paul.
He tapped into racial hatred and then became the pee-party frosh senator from Kentucky. And that's only what we know publicly. What a fucking disgrace to all decent Americans.

And yes republicans, please run one of them in 2016 as your nominee.

Christie remains popular with rank-and-file Republicans, but is the target of unrelenting vitriol from the activist ones (intelligentsia isn't the right word -- stupidsia?) who have never forgiven him for putting his state above partisan politics in October. It wouldn't surprise me if he eventually switches parties.
