Trayvon Martin was killed for WWB...Walking While Black

Just imagine raising kids in today's society, having to worry about bullying from their peers, underage drinking and driving,  texting while driving, endless hours of homework, expensive after school sporting equipment to purchase....but do you worry about your 17 yr old walking to the corner 7/11 for a can of iced tea and a box of Skittles? Do you worry for his life as he walks home alone in the dark? No, not usually, not if you live in a safe gated community like Trayvon Martin's Dad did...

This is 2012, I thought Jim Crow was DEAD!!!  Trayvon Martin was a 17 yr old "GOOD KID", he was minding his own business walking down the sidewalk, when George Zimmerman, self appointed neighborhood watchman called the police to report a suspicious looking dude. Zimmerman was TOLD to leave the kid alone, stop following him, but he wanted nothing more than to hunt down that black boy and shoot him in cold blood, JUST BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK.....

Listen to the 911 tapes, you will hear the screams of the boy as Zimmerman chases him down like a hunted animal....Trayvons girlfriend on the cell phone with him tells him to run, he says no, he'll just walk fast...OMG...as the Mother of 2, I can not bare to imagine the fear in the heart of that young man, being chased by a mad man with a gun....a White man, murdered a Black teenager, just for being Black,  on February 26th and he has not been charged....

Just imagine if a Black man murdered a White teenager, just for being White, where would he be? This is 2012, Jim Crow is alive and well...

This happened in Sanford, Florida. This story is just beginning to unfold thanks to the media and people like you and me signing petitions, people like Ben Jealous, and Rev. Al Sharpton, Civil Rights leaders and Congressmen and women. Thanks to Trayvon's parent for not giving up, for calling on the FBI for help because the local police department was of no help to them....A young man is dead, laying in the morgue for THREE DAYS, was tested for DRUGS! Was Zimmerman drug tested? NO, Was Zimmerman arrested for murder? NO...He walked a free man, carrying his gun....

The 911 tapes....they are chilling.. "they always get away" Zimmerman says. Well this one will not, he'd make sure of that...Zimmerman shot an unarmed innocent teenager, he should be arrested and charged in the cold blooded murder of Trayvon Martin! George Zimmerman is a MURDERER!

Sue, I blogged on this as well.

I waited until more facts were known before I did so. Now that more information about this shameful murder are made public, we should keep the pressure on Flordia and expose the "Stand Your Ground" law as the horror that it truly is--license to kill under any circumstances one wishes.

Even in the wild, wild west, gunslingers had more honor than to shoot an unarmed person. The murderer, Zimmerman, is without honor, and I hope he suffers the fullest punishment of the law for killing this unarmed child.

And yes! 17 years old is still a child!

Sue said...

I think the pressure is definitely on thanks to good people who believe the evidence shows Trayvon was murdered without cause. The Stand your Ground law is being looked at too, it's disgraceful and needs repealed.

I can not imagine what the family is going through and then to be dismissed and ignored to the point the FBI must be called in...shameful!!

Jerry Critter said...

Since when is the decision to use capital punishment put into the hands of the individual and not the courts? Since Florida passed the "Stand Your Ground" law. The legislators who passed this law should be tried for murder along with Zimmerman.

From "The Guardian" today:

"Police chief Bill Lee, of Sanford police, has insisted he carried out a "fair and thorough" investigation of the killing and that he cannot arrest George Zimmerman because he has told police he shot the teenager in self-defence and there was no evidence to contradict his account."

So! Given this insane argument, virtually ANYONE can shoot another person at ANY TIME, for any reason whatsoever in the state of Florida and as long as they do so without a witness to contradict the claim, that person can simply claim self defense and it's automatically accepted by law enforcement as a valid reason to shoot and kill a child who just happens to be walking home????

NO!!! This is not a law enforcement officer who is supporting an insane law; this is a law enforcement officer who is clearly taking the easy road to accept an outrageous hate crime on his watch.

CONt'd

FACT #1 Even without the overwhelming evidence that is taking shape now, 24 days ago, this young man was gunned down by a self-appointed vigilante with a clearly visible disdain for anyone with black skin. His previous incessant 911 calls NEVER were to inform the police of suspicious ‘white people,” they were always about suspicious black people.

FACT# 2 The coroner’s office performed a drug/alcohol test on the young man’s body, but NEVER questioned the shooter.

FACT# 3 The police had in their possession, Trayvon’s cell phone for three days while this child’s father was frantically searching for his son and they NEVER bothered to use that cell phone to make an attempt to identify the young man through the phone. He sat in the morgue for three days before the father finally discovered the horrific fate of his son.

FACT #4 We’ve all heard the tapes instructing Zimmerman not to pursue the young man, yet as he leaves his car, there are words muttered quietly into his cell phone that are now being disclosed as saying “fucking coons.”

FACT #5 Zimmerman has been obsessed with crime, ESPECIALLY crimes committed by black people since his failure to complete his goals in criminal law enforcement schools.

FACT#6 The police department of Sanford had ALL of this information at their fingertips, yet Zimmerman was allowed to obtain a license to carry a lethal weapon and to harass and attempt to use law enforcement to back up his harassment of black people for: “hanging around outside the gated community” in which he lives; “walking through the neighborhood and picking up trash” apparently an inexcusable offense to a man who just pursued, hunted, shot and killed an innocent young man for no reason whatsoever, except “he looks black;”

FACT# 7 Zimmerman was NEVER a “neighborhood captain.”

FACT# 8 The rules of ALL neighborhood watch programs are:

Watch

First and foremost, it must be established that citizens act as part of these neighborhood block watch groups by doing exactly that---watching. CITIZENS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE THE LAW INTO THEIR OWN HANDS. They simply watch the neighborhood for suspicious activity and report any such activity to their local police department or sheriff's office.

Report

Neighborhood block watch volunteers are instructed in the principles of good observation skills and are taught to describe physical features of suspicious people as well as note license plate numbers and makes and models of suspicious vehicles.

These volunteers must also learn what is considered typical behavior within their own neighborhoods and to be on the lookout for behavior that is out of the ordinary.

Don'ts

Neighborhood block watch participants do not attempt to stop crimes themselves or take the law into their own hands in any manner. They are not authorized to pull over official patrol cars or cars operated by other members of the neighborhood block watch team.

MEMBERS ARE TAUGHT NOT TO APPROACH SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE BUT RATHER TO IMMEDIATELY REPORT THEIR ACTIVITIES AND TO NEVER INTERVENE IF THEY KNOW A CRIME IS TAKING PLACE. JEOPARDIZING THEIR OWN SAFETY OR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS ISN'T EVER A CONSIDERATION AND MUST BE AVOIDED AT ALL TIMES.

FACT # 9 IF!! Even if Zimmerman was, as he promoted himself, “the” neighborhood watch person, he willfully conducted himself in a manner that would make his motives questionable considering the rules above. And! If he was not “the” neighborhood watch person, he willfully sought out a black person, pursued, shot and killed him, once again, in a manner that would make his motives questionable.

FACT # 10 The Sanford police department is ignoring these very clear and obvious concerns that, if I know about them, you can bet your sweet ass, they certainly do.

I am, as a human, an American, a gun-owner, very embarrassed by the actions of another “human;” of another “American;” of another "gun-owner.”

I am also VERY, VERY concerned about the gun laws in this nation heading in the direction they are. There are 26 states that allow a person to simply “strap it on and carry it around” at will and 14 that will allow you to do so with a license. That’s 80% of our country that allows people to run around with guns on their belts.

And here’s the kicker: Florida is neither – they are a “non-permissive state,” yet they allowed a man who, if you look at the facts outlined above, should have should have been questioned (long before this horrific crime) simply based upon his strange obsession to behave as some self-appointed neighborhood sheriff, to shoot and kill an innocent black person for the color of his skin, to do so with virtually no questions asked.

All based upon four words; “I claim self defense.”

What is this saying about America????

"And here’s the kicker: Florida is neither"

Just because Zimmerman said so doesn't make it so.

Sue said...

oh you are so wrong Lisa, this is a black white issue! That murderer Zimmerman would not have followed or called 911 if the teenager was white, you can bet your life on that!

I live in a small racist town in NJ, we were the "white" town surrounded by black communities for years. When I was in High School there were maybe 3 black families who lived MILES from any white neighborhoods. Today our decent, kind, and upstanding neighbor, who happens to be black, just stopped by to tell us the story of him being stopped by the cops at 2 am while riding his bike home from work. They stopped him right in front of our house and it woke my husband, so we already knew. Danny asked over and over why are they following him and for what reason are they taking him in. He got no answer as they hounded him asking him why he was in our neighborhood, asked if he had drugs on him, was told about break-ins etc etc,,, for TWO hours he endured this treatment. The officers even recognized him as the "black guy" who lived on the corner and had bonfires during the summer. He will be talking to the captain next week because he believes he was targeted for being black in a white neighborhood....
He has endured so much, and has never been anything but helpful and kind to this neighborhood. It's all very upsetting. It's my personal opinion Danny would not have been stopped, or taken in, if he was white. After explaining that he was riding home from work, a white man would have been told ok, have a good night.

found this on FB,

"George Zimmerman's father was a judge in the VA court for many years. As a Magistrate he has contacts in the system.. for years. His mother worked with the courts - for over 20 years. Now people are wondering if Zimmerman felt a sense of feeling like he was an inside part of the Justice system! Is that the reason he was given the benefit of Law Enforcement?" As soon as I heard this on the news tonight, I thought BINGO, now we know why Zimmerman was given the special treatment. It's all in who you know, folks. And if you have the idiotic, NRA lobby backed "Stand your Ground" law, it can easily be swept under the rug. They didn't contact the parents until they got rid of all the evidence and even then the father called the police - not the other way around. THIS is totally wrong!

People who thought this murder would be swept under the rug and Trayvon's parents would walk away, are in for a rude awakening!!

I have tried to tell you once, and I will again, that Florida says Zimmerman is a cracker. And since Zimmerman is a known liar, maybe you should stop pushing this talking point (and it IS a talking point; Beck (surprise surprise) has been emphasizing it.)

Lisa, there is a problem with the story you just linked. In that instance, he told a cellmate that him did it which implies that he was already in jail. For some reason, Lisa seems unable to understand what the outrage is over the Trayvon killing.

Bringing in other examples of other killings doesn't change the fact that Zimmerman pursued and killed Trayvon Martin who was not a threat and who was deprived of his civil rights.

There are no conflicting stories.

Trayvon was walking down the street when a bigot determined that because he was black and wearing a hoodie, that made him suspicious, and therefore a potential criminal. The 9-1-1 dispatcher told Zimmerman to NOT pursue Trayvon, and Zimmerman ignored him, pursued the child and killed him.

Zimmerman asked Trayvon what he was doing in the neighborhood. Trayvon had no obligation to answer Zimmerman, a total stranger. It is Zimmerman who was the aggressor and ultimately the killer.

There is no conflicting story.

It's interesting to see Lisa come here and try to arouse suspicion about Trayvon Martin--enough suspicion to convince herself and other wingers that he deserved to be shot dead.

We know these facts:

Trayvon Martin was unarmed.

George Zimmerman was armed.

George Zimmerman pursued Trayvon Martin even when the 911 dispatcher told him NOT TO. We heard this with our own ears.

Trayvon Martin died from a gun shot.

Even in the old wild, wild west, in a shoot-out, gunslingers did not shoot an unarmed man.

I find it amusing that Lisa is so indignant that Zimmerman is being "convicted" before the facts are all out.

This indignation is from the same person who, a month or so ago, came here and posted a comment that included a quotation supposedly made by President Obama, that was anti-white and made Mr. Obama look like a racist.

The quotation was a complete lie, and I showed her that it was--from many fact-finding sources. Lisa never apologized for spreading this slander about Mr. Obama.

Remember now, this is the same Lisa who is outraged and is accusing liberals of being divisive by talking about this case.

She, however, was only pure of heart and intent when she spread a vicious and, may I add divisive, lie about what President Obama said and was not the least bit sorry--she never said she was--for doing so.

Once again, Lisa, spare us your ridiculous, emotional hypocrisy.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Sigh. Lisa just doesn't get it. She posted a heartbreaking story of a black youth who murdered an elderly couple, but doesn't have a clue about why that story has nothing to do with the Trayvon Martin case.

George Zimmerman was not arrested in connection with the Trayvon Martin case.

We may as well talk to our kitchen tables as try to reason with Lisa.

Shaw you wouldn't even give a crap about Martin if he were killed by another black kid

clif said...

You want Zimmerman arrested

Yes, because he pursued a 17 year old person who was committing NO crime, even after the police dispatcher told him NOT to. He did this while armed with a lethal weapon, Trayvon Martin had Skiddles, and a cell phone.

Zimmerman cannot claim legal protection under the stand your ground, he moved off the ground IN PURSUIT of the retreating Travyon Martin, hence was not being threatened by Martin but if fact was actually the threat in this case., such the Florida law cannot apply to a person in pursuit.

If Zimmerman had actually stood his ground, like the police told him to, and Travyon Martin retreated, nobody would have been shot, because Trayvon Martin would have moved away from Zimmerman's position, like he did in reality, and no perceived threat could have continued.

Therefore George Zimmerman has no reasonable defence to explain his violent actions, and should have been disarmed and taken into custody for a court of law to determine the legal ramifications of his questionable actions.

We do not want Zimmerman tried in Media or on blogs we want him tried in a court of LAW, which up to now the police and district attorney doesn't seem to be doing, even though Zimmerman shot an unarmed 17 year old person who was committing no crime, and wasn't a threat to Zimmerman since Travyon Martin RETREATED.

Shaw Kenawe said...

"To believe Zimmerman’s scenario, you have to believe that Trayvon, an unarmed boy, a boy so thin that people called him Slimm, a boy whose mother said that he had not had a fight since he was a preschooler, chose that night and that man to attack. You have to believe that Trayvon chose to attack a man who outweighed him by 100 pounds and who, according to the Sanford police, was wearing his gun in a holster. You have to believe that Trayvon chose to attack even though he was less than a hundred yards from the safety of the home where he was staying.

This is possible, but hardly sounds plausible.

The key is to determine who was standing his ground and defending himself: the boy with the candy or the man with the gun. Who was winning the fight is a secondary question.

That said, we’ll have to wait for details of the investigation to be revealed to know for sure. But while we wait, it is important to not let Trayvon the person be lost to Trayvon the symbol. He was a real boy with a real family that really loved him."--Charles Blow, NYTimes

I believe Charles Blow, not you, Lisa. Blow actually spoke to Trayvon's mother. You're getting your talking points from Glenn Beckers.

LISA: "Shaw you wouldn't even give a crap about Martin if he were killed by another black kid."

That foolish statement has nothing whatsovever to do with this issue. You're trying to redirect the conversation and demonize people who are angry over this tragedy.

I am a mother and a grandmother of boys and you are wrong about what I care or do not care about.

How dare you make such a heartless and inflammatory assertion.

STick to the facts, and stop your typical character assassination of people who disagree with you.

Yes, that is a point, and one validated by the person holding contempt for it.

First there was:

And then:

I would like to see a bunch of democrats in jail for those atrocities.

You see, I was right. To their cult, only liberals are racists. This is their indoctrination. This is pure hatred.

It is obvious they are projecting their racism onto others.

It is what they must do to defend a person who started a confrontation that turned into a struggle he was about to lose. A perfect set up to shoot a person he was stalking.

This is just what the real racists want. THey want to be able to start a fight in order to claim self defense when they kill someone.

But we dare not call a radical Right wing defender of a racially motivated killing something like a racist. No siree. Why? Because to their hateful cult's ideology, only liberals are racist.

Just imagine the howls of outrage if we call the person, who accuses us of racism, of being the real racist.

Lisa, you have problems with understanding what people write.

We have NOT tried and convicted Zimmerman. We want him to be arrested, just like anyone in this country would be arrested in a homicide.

Any policeman who discharges his fire arm in ANY situation [self-defense or whatever, while the internal affairs fully investigates] AUTOMATICALLY is suspended from service with pay.

Do you not know that? Do you not understand this?

Zimmerman's gun killed a boy and Zimmerman went home without any investigation or interrogation.

The police department tested Trayvon's corpse for drugs alcohol.

Zimmerman, the man who killed Trayvon, went home and had supper.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Lisa came here and did nothing more than repeat rightwing talking points. She initially stated she hoped Zimmerman would rot in prison for the rest of his life. Then she changed her tune to suggesting Trayvon was the perpetrator of his own death:

From Think Progress:

"Over the last 48 hours, there has been a sustained effort to smear Trayvon Martin, the 17-year old African-American who was shot dead by George Zimmerman a month ago. Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, said, “They killed my son, now they’re trying to kill his reputation.”

Thus far these attacks have fallen into two categories: false and irrelevant. Much of this leaked information seems intended to play into stereotypes about young African-American males. Here’s what everyone should know:

1. Prominent conservative websites published fake photos of Martin. Twitchy, a new website run by prominent conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, promoted a photo — purportedly from Martin’s Facebook page — that shows Martin in saggy pants and flipping the bird. The photo, which spread quickly on conservative websites and Twitter, is intended to paint Martin as a thug. As Twitchy later acknowledged, it is not a photo of Trayvon Martin. [Examiner]

2. The Sanford Police selectively leaked irrelevant, negative information about Martin. The authorities told the Orlando Sentinel this morning that Trayvon was suspended from school for ten days “after being found with an empty marijuana baggie.” There is no evidence that Martin was under the influence of drugs at the time of his death, nor would prior possession of marijuana be a reason for killing him. It’s unclear what the relevance of the leak was, other than to smear Martin. [Orlando Sentinel]

3. On Fox News, Geraldo said that Martin was dressed “like a wannabe gangster.” Bill O’Reilly agreed with him. The sole evidence is that Martin was wearing a hoodie. Geraldo added that “everyone that ever stuck up a convenience store” was wearing a hoodie. [ThinkProgress; The Blaze]

4. Without any evidence, prominent right-wing bloggers suggested that Martin was a drug dealer. Right-wing blogger Dan Riehl advances the theory, also advanced in a widely linked peice on a site called Wagist. There does not appear to be any evidence to support this claim whatsoever. [Riehl World View]

5. Without any evidence, a right-wing columnist alleged that Martin assaulted a bus driver. Unlike Zimmerman, Trayvon has no documented history of violence. This allegation continues to be advanced by a blogger on the Examiner even after the real reason was leaked to the police and confirmed by the family. [Miami Herald; Examiner]

6. Zimmerman’s friend says Martin was to blame because he was disrespectful to Zimmerman. Zimmerman’s friend Joe Oliver said that Martin would not have been shot to death if Trayvon had just said “I’m staying with my parents.” Of course, Zimmerman was not a police officer, and Trayvon had no duty to tell him who he was or where he was going. [NBC News]

The final part of the effort to smear Trayvon Martin is to link him and his supporters to irresponsible fringe groups like the New Black Panthers and marignal provocateurs like Louis Farrakhan. Threats by these groups are serious and should be investigated, but they have nothing to do with Martin or his supporters. The leader of the effort to associate Martin with these groups is Matt Drudge. You can see how he is framing the story today here.

Ultimately, whether Martin was a perfect person is irrelevant to whether Zimmerman’s conduct that night was justified. Clearly, there are two different versions of the events that transpired on February 26, the night Trayvon was killed. There are conflicting statements by witnesses and conflicting evidence as to who was the aggressor. Zimmerman has the right to tell his side of the story. But his opportunity to do this will come in a court of law after he is charged and arrested. In the meantime, Zimmerman’s supporters should stop trying to smear the reputation of a dead, 17-year-old boy."

If Zimmerman had been arrested and either sitting in jail or posted bail, then there would not be the uproar, the protests around the country, Black Panthers speaking out, etc etc!!! Zimmerman was let go after murdering a teenager in cold blood because the township police department is corrupt and they treat the death of a black boy like a dog hit by a car! And that's the TRUTH!

How do apologists like Lisa excuse the FACT that George Zimmerman had TWO previous arrests for felonies, one of which was an assault on a police officer?

Lisa and her disgusting anti-Trayvon commenters at her blog would have been pooping green bricks over that had Trayvon had a record.

Instead, people on the right are making up crap about about Trayvon--trying to make something out of his tardy high school record while ignoring Zimmerman's arrests for two felony counts.

Idiots.

Here's the link on Zimmerman's arrest record.

Shaw Kenawe said...

That should be ONE felony count and one misdemeanor.

Lisa,

You're hurting Sue's blog by infesting it with shit-for-brains crap. Over half of the comments here are either from you or someone trying to talk some sense to you.

We like intelligent conservatives. Engage us in a reasonable conversation. We have all reached out to you in friendship. You return regurgitated and stupid talking points. Designed to confuse and destroy. It's okay to be a conservative. You need to disconnect with these vindictive modern republican monsters.

Or, more simply put, please say something intelligent or constructive. Peace.

you're right FJ, I have to back to moderation...

Sue said...

you're wrong Lisa. I don't moderate because your comments hit a nerve, it's because your comments are repetitive and verge on stupid, so enough is enough. You believe Zimmerman had good reason to shoot Trayvon because this boy MIGHT have smoked pot, or because he got suspended from school, or because he has tattoos and gold teeth.....THAT IS RIDICULOUS!! so therefore GOOD BYE...

Shaw Kenawe said...

I'm glad I didn't see Lisa's idiotic statements. Did she truly propose that Zimmerman was justified in killing Trayvon because he may have smoked marijuana? Had tattoos and gold teeth.

No one. No one can be that stupid.

Sue said...

here it is Shaw. I don't know why she needs to comment here, she has all these opinions so why doesn't she put up a "save Zimmerman" post on her own blog!

Lisa has left a new comment on your post "Trayvon Martin was killed for WWB...Walking While ...":

If you want to arrest him you have to at least have something other than he is a bigot. So according to you he followed him,got out of his car, went up to him and just shot him.
Nothing else happened. The how o you explain Zimmerman's' nose getting broken and the back of his head cut up.
You have to have just cause to hold someone. He called 911. He wasn't hiding anything.

Have you seen the recent picture of Martin sporting his gold teeth and tattoos. Not the fresh faced baby faced kid people are holding up pictures of. It's quite deceiving.
So what if they do arrest him,he goes to trial and gets off due to evidence? Then what you still going to have the Black Panthers running around with a 10,0o0 bounty on the guys's head.
Where is the president trying to tone that down?
The friggn FBI shouild be stopping that but I am sure Eric Holder is loving every minute of it.

she is so amusing... NOT!!!

She is dead serious..

HEY LISA,

The lead police investigator WANTED to arrest George Zimmerman,

but was over ruled by the City attorney.

Looks like the police officer investigating the crime didn't believe Zimmerman.

Try spinnin that one.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Lisa went from declaring that she hoped Zimmerman would "rot in jail" to defending what he did and implying Trayvon, the victim, deserved to be killed--afterall, according to Lisa, he had GOLD TEETH AND TATTOOS!

She's the "Etch-a-Sketch, Mitt Rmoney" of Sue's blog. LOL!

Flip-flopping must be a requirement for being a member of today's paranoid GOP.

BTW, some of the photos of Trayvon Martin making the rounds on some rightwing blogs are NOT photos of Martin at all, but were taken from a white supremacist site called "Stormfront," via Breitbart's blog and melonhead trouble maker, Michelle Malkin.

More oddities

So! "Broken nose and head injuries" seems to be the call Zimmerman and his attorney are claiming as the reason a young man with a bright smile was shot dead and it "was Zimmerman crying for help" on the night of the crime.

I guess Zimmerman and his attorney think the U.S. public is as stupid as they themselves are, for only a few seconds after Zimmerman AND Trayvon ended their phone calls, the innocent young man lie dead on the ground.

And now, here’s a video that shows Zimmerman in perfect health and virtually NO visible injuries, either to his nose OR his head.

Watch the video before reading on and tell me if you see what I saw.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/george-zimmerman-police-surveillance-16024475?tab=9482931&section=1206839&playlist=9660543

Did you see it?

The video shows an EXTRMELY casual atmosphere when you look at the behavior and body language of the police officers taking Zimmerman into the police HQ for questioning. It's extremely RARE that police officers let an arrestee walk, unattended, to the building while they, unbelievably, walk ahead of him.

Odd indeed!

After watching the video, the casual approach strick me even more odd than the lack of injuries.

Sue said...

Bob I did see the video and was arguing for hours last night on Facebook about it, to Liberals actually!! I hope they got pictures of these so called injuries to show to the jury, I don't believe a word the killer says, but seems Mad Mike does! He made me furious last night! These people think just because GZ says Trayvon jumped him and attacked him that we should believe it! CRAZY! The cops were minutes away, so why murder a kid even if he did jump him? It all makes no sense. If GZ was beaten so bad he had to draw his gun then why wasn't he hospitalized with those injuries? I could go on and on,,, frankly I am wore out from arguing, I can't wait til the fucker is behind bars!

From a Facebook friend...
‎"Pay attention to the first recording of a neighbor (a man) who called 9-1-1. He says in the call that his reason for calling was that he heard a shot. While the call is taking place he hears yelling, and THEN a shot! That would suggest there may have been TWO shots. If there were two shots, that would explain why Trayvon would be crying out for help before he was silenced."
http://wp.me/pwVeA-3at

This is very interesting, could it be Zimmerman fired a shot to stop Trayvon from running, then he cornered him terrorizing him which explains the cries for help from Trayvon, then maybe Trayvon lunged at Zimmerman and he then shot the boy in the chest??

I don't care how a person looks at this incident, the numbers simply don't add up with the shooter's claims.

Sadly, this all could have been avoided had the lead investigator had the support of his chief and was able to make an arrest as he wanted.

An arrest is not a conviction, but the decision made to simply let GZ walk away as though he’d stepped on a roach is not what the justice system is about.

IF! If GZ is innocent, let the courts determine that, not a single individual who is obviously influenced by career and political status which was likely, in his view, in jeopardy.

Now, unfortunately even the courts are in a rough spot and are going to have an extremely difficult time making a fair and just decision even IF GZ is as he says, a victim of violence perpetrated by Trayvon.

Shamefully, it appears that the decision of one man with self-interest at the center of that decision has interfered with a system designed to prevent instant justice.

Its a real mess Bob. he was arrested then let go that night for lack of evidence, I've been scolded by Mad Mike! So, apparently there will be a grand jury hearing on April 10th. We'll all be waiting for that! I wonder, is that when they will show the evidence? I'll ask Mike and report back tomorrow...

okjimm said...

so... here's a disturbing thought... if Zimmerman was NOT arrested....does he still possess that gun?

Sue said...

Jim, I've read he was allowed to go home with his gun, not sure it's true tho. You would think it would be a part of the evidence.

There are alot of people(white people), screaming and complaining about Al Sharpton's involvement in this case. They are calling him a racist, a troublemaker, and down right evil! When I see people(mostly blacks), marching in the streets for Trayvon I see a race which feels isolated from its own country and has a need to fight for justice, for one of their own...the screamers see a gathering of a race that they feel needs to shut the hell up and get back in their "place"..

Flying Junior said...

So what's Al Sharpton supposed to say? "That's cool, I'll just sit this one out." Today's right-wing racists are so fucking stupid. Not that the porch and church bombers of yesteryear were any brighter. I actually noticed the seeds of this new Rush Limbaugh styled "color blindness" as early as six years ago, well before Barack Obama was even on the radar of all but the most dedicated democrats. The push to end affirmative action and racial preferences in college admissions. The reverse discrimination lawsuits. I noticed an attitude among right-wing bloggers of disowning any debt for slavery. A feeling that anything that happened before 1865 was ancient history. A blanket accusation of black people for desiring reparations for their ancestral enslavement and residual socio-economic woes, when only the most vocal civil rights activists make any such statements or claims. A feeling that the civil rights movement was a chapter in our history that closed in 1968 with the assassination of MLK Jr. Everything is okay now. Can't we just get along with our lives? Now we have Newt Gingrich and FOX News dumbshits calling black people racists.

Florida may still be home to some discredited public servants and reluctant prosecutors. But I don't believe that any judge or court will be able to empanel a grand jury which would not find sufficient evidence to try George Zimmerman for murder or at the very least manslaughter.

I posted some information on the selection process and empowerment and procedures for grand juries in Florida on the Dog Report. Unless the entire pool of jurors is tainted, (a possibility I concede,) I think Zimmerman will go to trial and face a jury of his peers.

It won't be long before the Supreme Court Justices make it a constitutional right to kill people for WWB, the way they're headed.

Maybe Lisa is right, has anyone here considered that possibility? I dare to take on that question with a post on my blog titled, "Regarding George Zimmerman's Innocence".

Do I, or do I not agree with Lisa? You'll have to visit my blog to find out.

Well, I did take the time to googol the grand jury convenience this weekend and thusly was awaiting Florida State Attorney Angela Corey's preliminary decision which was announced this morning. I am cautiously optimistic. I actually think it could have been much more dangerous had the matter gone before a grand jury. I was clearly only wishing and hoping that the outcome would have been secure. It would have only taken seven jurors or only one third of the grand jury to effectively acquit Zimmerman.

I am so thankful that she did not allow that to happen considering the toxic political environment surrounding the case. There is one ugly caveat however. As an elected official, she may be concerned about her own chances for re-election. Let's hope justice is blind this week. It all seems so hopelessly racially charged in Florida. The demographics are so defined. The black voters, the Cubans, the Jewish vote, conservative white gun rights republicans and libertarians! What a soup. I wonder what she will decide to do?
