Did you watch the Superbowl halftime show last night? I had the unfortunate pleasure, it was not Christina screwing up the national anthem or Fergie's hideous attempt at singing.....I encouraged my Mom to leave her spot in the kitchen and join us in the livingroom to watch the game...she had been referencing the Romans that morning, God only knows why... but when the halftime show started(yes I agree it was hideous) she said it was the beginning of the end for America as we know it, it was the Fall of the Roman Empire all over again! This type of entertainment can only lead to what was seen in Rome with their entertainment including woman forced to have sex with beasts. Yes, sadly she is serious. I got quite angry and said how could she compare the singing of Fergie to the Roman Empire??! Lordy.....the woman is almost 81 I keep reminding myself. She likes Eddy Arnold, she doesn't understand the Black-Eyed Peas....
Anyway, one highlight of the night was when
Will.i.am delivered a
message to President Obama by changing three lines to his band's hit
"Where Is The Love?" during the 15-minute medley:
"In
America we need to get things straight / Obama, let's get these kids
educated / Create jobs so the country stays stimulated."

Cool huh?! I guess Will.i. am knew the president would be watching the game and he took that opportunity to send a little message. I like it! |

I stand by you mom - and from what I'm seeing elsewhere, she ain't in a minority. I didn't watch the SB but watched about a minute of this so-called entertainment on YouTube. Lord help me.

Wow!!!! That halftime show was like part three of TRON....I was expecting Jeff Bridges to pop up at any second.

I think next year the Super Bowl will be in Indianapolis.....if they don't have John Mellencamp at halftime then it's conspiracy theory time. John's a good Democrat and fightin' liberal who just seems to have a little trouble in the marriage game.
And the commercials were no better.
I live 40 minutes soth Of Green Bay... Football is the only sport I follow..... I hate Budweiser....didn't see a single commercial & halftime is when I take a leak & get a smoke. (I also pray to Dr Suess for some Green Eggs then) Hey... I like black-eyed peas...with hocks & side of okra. Just saying.

Did you guys watch the same SB half time show I did? I thought it was pretty cool............and I also love the Who, Bob Dylan and John Mellancamp as well as GNR. We thought it was one of the best. Oh well.........
well Judi, actually I was so floored by Moms suggestion the "Fall of the Roman Empire" was coming to America because our singers are so hideous that I didn't pay too much attention to the show, except for Fergie, she sounded worse than what I've seen so far on American Idol. They say it was the networks fault though. Oh well..:-)

I saw all that shit coming. Mainly because of Super Bowls past. I mean really, how are they going to top themselves after The Who? Black-eyed Peas??? Uh...no.
Soon as I saw Aguilera as the singer of the anthem, I knew she was going to fuck it up, I got witnesses.
The only thing that could have made the Super Bowl worse was to have Pittsbugh win. THEN, it would have went over the top for being a complete waste of TV watching.

I didn't watch the game, and am happy to have missed the "entertainment."
It's an overwrought, self-indulgent circus jacked up to make Americans feel good while watching "juiced up millionaires give each other brain damage."

ok... this is not my blog... and I haven't been here much, but gees, thought Shaw's comment to Lisa was outta line. I guess I agree with his assessment of most of her opinions, and her blog.... but what she said on this post was no big deal and really didn't deserve a dig.... just saying.... wait until there IS something and blast here then. Plus... I think NY is gonna be a stupid place to have a football game in Feb.....
