Hey Y'all, thanks for the visits and comments. Tom, I haven't been by to read blogs or even comment on my own because I have been preoccupied with my Moms failing health and her stay in a nursing home...NOT because of any stupid crude things you have said to me. I will be back in time, when I can think clearly and put some of my thoughts about the hideous GOP candidates into words.

I hope you don't forget about me, I won't forget about you. I shall return!

I'm so sorry Sue. I will be thinking of you and Mom, and hoping everything goes well! Don't worry about us, this Political crap will still be here when you get back...unfortunately.

thanks Mary. She had a chest x-ray tonight, she has either pneumonia, bronchitis, or its the fluid on the lungs from the kidneys...she's a very sick woman!

Don't worry, Sue. We will not forget you...ever! Take care of family first. The "hideous GOP candidates" are not going to disappear until Obama kicks their ass in 2012.

Sue, we're here for you, sistah.

I have some understanding of what helping family is about. I'm in SoCal helping my daughter through some difficulties as well.

Family is everything.

Take care.

Oh Sue, I was so caught up in doing my own "thang" I didn't realize how bad the situation with your mom had become. I am so sorry. By all means, our families should be our first priorities. Just know our thoughts and best wishes are with you and your mom. There is no way we are about to forget you, trust me, so we'll be here when you're ready to go forth again.

As far as the jerk who likes to drop his turds everywhere, one day the big manure spreader in the sky will pick him up and dump him in the big pasture that burns for all eternity.

Thanks Shaw, I hope things are going well with your daughter, it's nice you can be with her...

Thanks Jim, we are hanging in there, its all we can do for now

Thanks L, you've been there for me to unload, I appreciate that! Its all happened so quickly but were in a holding pattern for now, I'll know more Thursday. But we did find out she doesn't have pneumonia or bronchitis, the fluid in the lungs is from the kidneys.

I understand the pain that you must be feeling. My heart goes out to your mother. I hopes she gets better and enjoys her time at the nursing home. Sometimes a home can be a wonderful thing for everybody concerned. Gotta hope they have a decent piano and some singing. San Diego has a brother and sister duo from West Virginia that comes around to all the homes and plays the oldies in a bluegrass style with guitars and violin. There can be moments... Still, I admire you and your husband for taking her into your own home. Bon chance!

thanks Dave, I vent on Facebook cuz I can comment and share links without having to spend time writing something readable for the blog. It is alot of work isn't it?!

thanks FJ. I hope Mom gets better too but she is not the type to socialize at the nursing home, so no, she will never grow to like it there. If she improves she'll come back here, but there is alot going on with her, not your typical old age stuff. She is looking at dialysis down the road and she is very frail.

Sorry to hear about your mum. The nursing home transition is a hard thing to work through, from what little I know about it.

Obama's here in Australia right now.

I'm having a beer with him later and then we'll probably kick back and talk about sports. I'll tell him you said 'hi'.

Sue said...

Thanks Magpie, yes the transition is a hard one, so much to consider.

Yes I hear President Obama is visiting you, how great is that! Please do tell him I said hi and you can even give him a bear hug too!

Just drop by on occasion to read you comments and let us know that:

"The fires of Makor still burn."

If anyone gets that reference, I will be highly impressed.

Speaking of us remembering you, it reminded me of BlackWaterDog, who I believe was a writer at the Huffington Post, who had a "falling out."

She started her own popular blog, but eventually left it also.

Her last post keeps getting more comments, as if she were still there.

It currently has 351 comments, and people just keep discussing things.

The Only Adult in the Room

The blog is dormant, but the comments on the last post are alive and well.

P.S.

Just realized that no one has commented this month, though.

hey there John, yes I'll drop in every day to publish comments. I think I will post an open thread where you all can talk to each other about the topic of the day that way I don't have to come up with a subject, that will be your job!

I think "the only adult in the room" said she was taking a few months off. I'm sure she'll be back soon too...

Sue.....sorry it's been so long, but I know the feeling. I hope things work out and your Mom makes a comeback. It's so heartbreaking to watch aging parents fade, you feel so helpless and frustrated.

Family comes first. We'll be here, some everyday and some a bit later.

Take care...God bless.

Thanks Hugh. I think about you and your parents all the time, hope you all are doing well!
