Let the tax cuts to the rich expire.....Mr. President we are talking, are you listening?

Here we go, are ya ready? Got your BP meds?

President Obama is not ready to cave in to Republican demands that Bush-era tax cuts must be extended to wealthy Americans. He said he is open to discussion BUT NOT COMPROMISE.

Fifty-three percent of Americans agree with Mr. Obama that the tax cuts for the wealthy should be allowed to expire, while 38 percent do not.

Two of three Democrats think it is a good idea, and most independents (55 percent) agree. Most Republicans (57 percent) think it is a bad idea.  Surprised?

After saying the tax rate for wealthy Americans would return to Clinton-era levels, Obama quipped, "Rich people were doing pretty well back then."  Hell Yea! Where are the GOP disputing that FACT?

WE MUST hold our president to the fire. Let him know in no uncertain terms,  let the Americans who voted for the GOP majority takeover because they wanted change know,  let the teabaggers know, THIS tax cut the GOP is fighting for the country's wealthiest 2% is a STIMULUS, there is no other word to describe BORROWING 700 billion to give rich bastards who do everything in their power NOW to deceive the tax man. This country MUST look out for the middleclass and working poor. Those fuckers who make billions are not worried about permanent tax cuts, if they are honest they will tell you they are fine with paying more taxes . Afterall giving rich people tax cuts DOES NOT stimulate the economy, if it did then why are there NO JOBS with these tax cuts being in place for years now?

Rep. Darrell Issa, a California Republican, says he'll oppose any compromise that fails to make permanent Bush-era tax cuts for the most wealthy Americans.
Issa, in line to head the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America" that "tax certainty" is probably more important for investors than for other Americans, to give them incentives to make investments that create jobs.  HA! They've had their incentives for years, where is the hiring? Where is the job growth? The Republicans want to kiss the rich bitches ass so they have their continued support, THAT'S WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO. Republican Whoremongering.
definition whoremongering: a dirty suck-up.... I couldn't print the rest, it was nasty!!

We had been on a decline for years ,but now we have a president who has put this country on the right track, slowly we are coming back, and letting tax cuts to the rich expire will help us even more, NOT HINDER US! Please let your voices be heard, go to the progressive organizations and tell them to tell President Obama, NO COMPROMISING with the whoremonger GOPers!

Marco Rubio speaks to the country and asks for a SECOND chance! LOL

Marco Rubio gave the GOP weekly address, some of what he said....

“This election the American people said enough is enough. That message was loud and clear. We Republicans would be mistaken if we misread these results as simply an embrace of the Republican party. This Election is a second chance. A second chance for Republicans to be what we said we were going to be.
Okay Mr. Rubio, can't wait to see what that is...

“In the past two years, Republicans listened to the American people and what they said is that it was time for a course correction.
So Mr. Rubio, which course do you guys plan on taking, because you have been awfully vague on that issue.  Although some of you have admitted you want to go back to the Bush policies that drove the economy into a ditch...

“The past two years provided a frightening glimpse at what could become of our great nation if we continue down the current path: wasteful spending, a growing debt and a government reaching ever further into our lives, even into our health care decisions. It is nothing short of a path to ruin, a path that threatens to diminish us as a nation and a people.
Actually Mr. Rubio things are beginning to turn around here since President Obama took the reigns from The Shrub. He saved us from a depression. The economy is growing, slowly yes but what do you expect in just 2 short years since we were on the brink of disaster. Oh and where is all this wasteful spending you all are referring to? You mean the spending a government has to do to stimulate the economy after a Republican president destroys it? We were on that path to ruin, it did threaten us as a nation and as a people, it was your party Mr. Rubio who had us on that path to ruin but now we are in a new land, a land of hope and change and promise because we have President Obama at the helm...

.“The challenges are too great, too generational in scope for us to be merely opponents of bad policies. Instead, we will put forward bold ideas and have the courage to fight for them. This means preventing a massive tax increase scheduled to hit every American taxpayer at the end of the year.
So by bad policies you mean the tax cuts for the very wealthiest Americans which bloated our national debt like never before in our history? The tax cuts for the rich that your party wants to make permanent so assuring that the next generation, and so on and so forth, are paying off this debt so the wealthy Americans can get massive tax cuts, so they can sit on their billions while the middle class and working poor have to work til they are in their 70's, hard labor at that!? Wow Mr. Rubio, how American of you...

“For many of us coming to Washington for the first time and others returning to serve, it’s a long way from home. A long way from the people whose eyes we looked into at town halls, at diners or roundtables, and promised that this time it would be different.
OMG, Sorry Mr. Rubio, excuse me while I LMFAO!!  This time will be different?? You really are wet behind the ears huh?

“This is our second chance to get this right. To make the right decisions and the tough calls and to leave our children what they deserve – the freest and most exceptional society in all of human history.
Exactly how many chances you say?? This is your second?  What about all those other chances you blew, they don't count?
The righties are thrilled with Rubios speech,  they think he is the best thing to come along since sliced bread. But really, what do the GOPers have to offer??

Here's a great post from Politicususa on the subject of republican- do- nothing isms...a bit of what it says...
They (GOP)voiced opposition in all sorts of ways (mostly hysterical) to all sorts of projects (mostly beneficial) that would have brought money and employment to their states. They especially voiced opposition to high speed rail, while in February 2009, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the Democratically-controlled Congress allocated $8 billion to be granted to states for intercity rail projects, with “priority to projects that support the development of intercity high speed rail service.”.

In Wisconsin, incoming Republican Governor Scott Walker vowed on Wednesday to fulfill a pledge he made during his campaign to kill a high-speed rail project that would have linked Milwaukee and Madison, which itself was to be part of a larger project which would have created a high-speed rail corridor across the upper Midwest, spanning the scenic but rather long (about 6 hour) drive between Minneapolis and Chicago (see map above). The clincher: the project was going to cost Wisconsin NOTHING. The entire $810 million price tag was being covered by federal stimulus funds. Wisconsin could only profit from the plan, putting thousands to work, not to mention helping the environment. But Walker is a Republican.

Read the post, it shows how dedicated the Republican party is to putting Americans back to work and making our country prosperous once again....NOT!!!

I admire Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi is a strong woman, she has done a superb job as House Speaker, you might agree with me if you dared put your personal feelings aside and just look at her record. Hundreds of bills passed through the House under Pelosi, and are now sitting dormant in the Senate.

AugusteLumiere Huffington Post comment

Speaker Pelosi's accomplishments were a credit to her abilities.. and her record is unsurpassed… a record, as CONSERVATIVE Norman Ornstein stated, “The111th Congress is one of the most productive Congresses in history.”
Increase in the minimum wage for the first time in 10 years..

The largest college aid expansion since the GI bill in more than 60 years...

A new GI education bill for veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars...

Increased services for the veterans, caregivers, and the Veterans Administration...

Passed the toughest ethics reform legislation in the history of the Congress...

Led the effort to pass the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create and save millions of American jobs, provide relief for American families, and provide a tax cut to 95 percent of working Americans...

Passed the Student Aid and; Fiscal Responsibility Act, which reforms the system of federal student loans to save taxpayers $87 billion – and then invests $77 billion of those savings back into education...

Passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, enacted to restore the ability of women & all workers to access our judicial system to fight pay discrimination...

Passed the children's health care legislation (SCHIP) providing health care for 11 million American children...

Passed hate crimes legislation, which will help protect Americans against violence based on sexual orientation, race, religion, gender, national origin, disability, or gender identity...

Raised vehicle fuel efficiency standards for the first time in 32 years and making an historic commitment to American home grown biofuels...

Eugene Robinson, The Washington Post said this in his op-ed, "She's losing her job not because she does it poorly but because she does it so well....Obama came to office with a long, ambitious agenda. Pelosi had a big majority to work with in the House, but it was ideologically diverse -- Blue Dogs, progressives, everything in between. Somehow, she managed to deliver."

True, some Democrats want Pelosi to step down for a more moderate leader. Is this what we need right now to counter the new GOP majority, a MODERATE  leader?? I say NO! The country wants STRONG Democrats in Congress. This is why Democrats lost seats, because of weaknesses, not strengths! BTW, What happened to some BlueDogs in the election this week??

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result," said Ken Spain, spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. Yea, they like to say it's insane to keep Nancy in a leadership role, but just because they FEAR her! More insane, voting back the fuckwad thugs who got us into this economic mess in the first place, that's insane. Voting back the same thugs over and over and over again....and expecting it to be different each time, hilarious!

NBC News's Luke Russert laid out a six-point case for why Pelosi should stay on as minority leader.  Here are 2 of the 5...

4. Many liberals and progressives do not want to compromise on their principles to appease Republicans. They see no problem in doing what the GOP did over the last two years that is being the “Party of No” out of principle. If this is the direction that liberals and progressives want to go, Pelosi is a much better leader than Hoyer. There is fear that Hoyer would be too accommodating to the GOP and to K Street influence.

5. Why should Pelosi be the only leader to fall on the sword after the disastrous results for Democrats on Tuesday? The president is not shaking up his team. Harry Reid will return to the Senate, a Senate that couldn't pass many House bills that liberals and progressives feel could have helped their election prospects. And Pelosi has worked harder than any other Democrat leader and earned the right to leave on her own terms. In no way does she need to placate moderates by stepping down.

We need a strong leader in the House to represent the minority democrats and I believe Nancy Pelosi can be that person. Love her or hate her,  she is a proven leader and we need her!

Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm.......

Americans want the parties to work together. Now is the time to show the voters exactly what the GOP is made of. This will prove to those out of work, suffering, homeless and desperate, which party has their best interests at heart. President Obama said in his speech yesterday that he wants to compromise, Mitch McConnell said in his speech the GOP will NOT compromise. There you have it folks, good luck to ya!

Think Progress:
Last night on Fox News, Newt Gingrich tried to advance the illusion that the world has reacted similarly to the GOP’s strong showing in Tuesday’s midterms as they did to Barack Obamas election in '08
GINGRICH: I mean, imagine if you were in China as a dictatorship and you watched the American people cheerfully firing people, and you thought to yourself, Wow, that’s a pretty cool idea. Or imagine you were an Iranian student thinking, you know, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to fire Ahmadinejad, the way Americans go about their politics? So I think it actually strengthens us.
The other is, I think this was a real signal to the world not to assume that the United States is a weak, timid country, not to assume that we’re going to tolerate bad economic policies and not to assume that we’re a country you’re going to be able to push around or run over because I think the American people are exhibiting a robust willingness to change the entire game. And that’s a pretty good historic reminder to other countries that we are a remarkably powerful, and if necessary, remarkably dangerous country when people try to behave in a predatory way towards us.

Wow the guy is a delusional wackjob! My God how can he say such absurd things with a straight face??
I hope you lefties will come to your senses quick, our party needs all the support and backing it can get. Look at the alternative!
“The rest of the world, including Asia, is looking at the United States and seeing no real effective policy measures in bringing the economy back on track,” said Bart van Ark, the chief economist at the Conference Board, which measures American economic indicators. “That is making the U.S. lose its legitimacy in the global economic community as a leader in terms of providing solutions.” [...]
“Republican claims to fiscal probity are a little difficult to buy into,” said Simon Tilford, the chief economist at the Center for European Reform in London. “What they’re advocating would probably increase the deficit rather than effect the dramatic reduction which they claim they want to bring about.”
Benedict Brogan, deputy editor of the right of center Daily Telegraph in London said “you will find folk in Downing Street who fear mainstream Republicans are on the wrong economic path.”

Once again the Republican party has brought embarrassment to the United States of America. The world looks at us as a bunch of dingbats who can't even get an election right. We just voted to give power back to the thugs who drove our economy into a ditch! With all our problems that stretch across the country and even around the globe we better get out act together and quick!
Come on Mr. President..... we are counting on YOU!!

Shocking poll

this is from the Huffington Post today,

Congress Republicans Boehner
The polling firm Rasmussen is out with a relatively shocking poll given the results of yesterday's election. Here's the gist:
Hold the celebration. Most voters expected Republicans to win control of the House of Representatives on Election Day, but nearly as many expect to be disappointed with how they perform by the time the 2012 elections roll around.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds, in fact, that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters think it is at least somewhat likely that most voters will be disappointed with Republicans in Congress before the next national elections. That includes 38% who say it is Very Likely.
More details here. And before you question whether Rasmussen has a Democratic bias, note Nate Silver's observation about their election polls last night:

How do you explain this?? Does this not prove Americans vote against their own best interests? So we have to persevere through 2 years of GOPers acting like they rule the world and all have to kiss their teabagging asses... for what?? To come away no better off then we are today? What exactly did the voters think they were doing putting Republicans back in power in the House? Do they believe the GOP can create jobs, but didn't really care one way or the other? Did they believe the thugs would try and impeach President Obama, but don't really care about that either... What did the voters care about when they voted for the R's and not the D's? They just wanted some fresh faces? Oh yea, that makes sense, fresh faces always make a difference in how a party governs....

This poll says Americans don't like Republicans, they don't trust them to govern, they don't believe their agenda will help the country, and by 2012 they'll have had enough of their stupidity and vote them out, once more. Is this just a power play?  Stupid wingnuts...this is what happens when you listen to conservatives telling you to trust them. You listen and you obey like good little sheeple, but you regret it every time. Well too late, the damage is done. And to the stupid lefties who could not muster enough faith in their Democratic Party and president  before getting all beside yourselves with impatience and anger in the slow recovery. Even though you see for yourselves it is a real recovery with charts and facts and GROWTH. The charts are going UP not down, remember the bikini chart? Remember when you got all excited about that bikini chart?

(I just added the stupid lefty part because the poll says likely voters, not republican voters, and I want to be fair because democrats did take part in this election :-) Do I think democrats voted against democrats? Yes, I'm sure some did.)

This is not a doom and gloom post, this is a perspective on the lameass stupid wingnuts and the impatient scared lefties....

Don't be fooled by boot lickin', teabaggin' , "Give us our country back" liars!

This is what the teabaggers mean by kicking out the Washington insiders?? The teabaggers are REPUBLICAN BOOT LICKERS!!

Dan Coats...Daniel Ray "Dan" Coats (born May 16, 1943) is an American lawyer, politician, lobbyist, and diplomat. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a United States Senator from Indiana from 1989 to 1999. Coats was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Dan Quayle following his election as Vice President of the United States in 1988. He won the 1990 special election to serve the remainder of Quayle's unexpired term, as well as the 1992 election for his own full six-year term. He did not seek re-election in 1998.
Prior to his service in the U.S. Senate, Coats was a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Indiana's 4th congressional district from 1981 to 1989. After retiring from the Senate Coats served as U.S. Ambassador to Germany from 2001 to 2005.

Rob Portman..... From 1993 to 2005, Portman served in the U. S. House of Representatives representing Ohio's 2nd congressional district, which stretches along the Ohio River from the Hamilton County suburbs of Cincinnati east to Scioto County and Pike County. Portman won seven consecutive congressional elections with over 70 percent of the vote.[2][3]
Portman served in two federal cabinet positions under the administration of President George W. Bush. From May 2005 to May 2006, he was the U. S. Trade Representative. From May 2006 to June 2007, he was Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)

HARRY! HARRY! HARRY!

No, I'm not in love with Harry but I sure as hell am glad Sharron teapot Angle LOST!!! I'm glad Christine witch O'Donnell lost, I'm thrilled Barbara Boxer won, I'm so sad Alan Grayson lost... Florida is SOOOO red, I wonder what all those seniors are gonna think about their choices once the GOPer start tlking about privatizing Social Security!

Did ya see John Boehner cry when he spoke last night? Cry Bonehead, cry, cuz you got alot to prove these next 2 years! Is he up for the task??

Teabagger, Palin boytoy Miller lost in Alaska last night, YEA!! The teabaggers had some wins but the country rejected the craziest of the crazies, that proves alot! This country will NOT move to the far right!

Am I crying in my coffee cup this morning? NO. What happened last night was totally expected. What I don't care to read today is the wingnuts claiming some sort of "the country loves us and not you" victory dance because it just isn't so.

These next 2 years will be interesting to say the least. The GOPers will have to work with the democrats and the president. They will have to PROVE to the voters they made the right choices! Come on GOP show us how we fix the mess you got us into, you wanted the job,  now get to work!

One World 2011

Tonight on MSNBC is the first time I heard of this ONE WORLD 2011. Have you heard of it? Google it, read about this, it is sure to scare the pants off the religious rightwing hate mongers...... The righties already think public schools indoctrinate our kids, what will they say about this?

One World 2011 will gather together hundreds of youth, ages 14-19, from throughout the Muslim world and USA beginning in Seattle Washington June 2011 with a series of on-going landmark events seeking to create sustainable long-term partnership programs. Participants will gain skills in cross-cultural understanding, entrepreneurialism and leadership. Exchanges will continue throughout the year and include American teens visiting Muslim countries.

The righties are already scared Muslims are taking over our country, what will they say about this?

Musicians, vocalists, photographers, dancers and more will thrill audiences with performances and exhibitions reflecting their deep and vibrant cultures. The festival will be held at various venues around the Seattle area, showcasing the artistry of the Muslim civilization, past and present.

The young people in our country and around the globe are the movers and the shakers. They are the ones who will bring about a peaceful world through communication, information sharing, RESPECT.....

Education and dialogue are the tools needed to create a more informed citizenry. This gathering will emphasize commonalities among Abrahamic faiths to foster an environment of respect and appreciation. We envision a more peaceful world if we can accept religious differences.

Bob Walsh is currently at work organizing One World 2011, a reprise of the Goodwill Games designed to meet today's challenges toward world peace.
"The idea was born seven years ago, due to the climate created after the 9/11 attacks, but the conditions for the start of a real project, which will begin as an event that will last for just a few months, but intends constantly evolve, were set in place only after the election of President Obama," explained Bob Walsh, the creator and founder of One World 2011.

UT OH, President Obama is behind this peace initiative, the wingnuts are going berserk!!

Bob's persistence, courage, and empathy, expressed through a wide range of political and social efforts, have earned him the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award from Coretta King, the "Supreme Soviet Award" from President Gorbachev, the World Affairs Council Award, recognition as an Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Georgia, and special recognition from Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

 From Bob Walsh's website,
U.S. relations with nations and people of the Middle East could benefit greatly from this model of cooperation and dialogue.
THE MIDDLE EAST/GULF IS CRUCIAL TO WORLD SECURITY
Turbulent events post-9/11 inflated the gap between Arab/Muslim worlds and America. The word "terrorist" has become a political synonym among many populations for "Muslim" and "Arab." Xenophobic reactions in the U.S. and elsewhere have paralleled the "Red Scare" of the Cold War era-this time targeting Muslims, Arabs, and persons of Arab descent.
It is more urgent than ever for people worldwide to increase tolerance and understanding for other cultures, religions and ways of life-to break free of historical conflicts and ideological prejudices. American global credibility is vital, particularly in the Middle East and the Gulf. Likewise, MENA (Middle East and North Africa) and the Gulf regions' integrity is significant globally. The iron wall of negative stereotypes between both regions must be torn down in order to achieve global security and a sound economy.
In order to rebuild trust and partnerships worldwide, establish security, and stimulate a prosperous economy, courageous changes must be initiated. The vision of One World 2011 is to create an international and interfaith dialogue, building a lasting avenue of communication and world unity.
Thanks to the 1990 Games, we have a model of shared international effort that can achieve such an expansion of goodwill, openness, and connections between cultures, challenging and eradicating the "us" versus "them" mentality.

It's obvious by the comments I've been reading on rightwing sites about this, they are NOT HAPPY! Looks like we are gonna need a Democrat President and people around the country and the globe who believe in world peace and how we can achieve it. The rightwingers? Well they can continue to live in fear and hate for all who are different from themselves....
