Teabaggers hate absolutely EVERYTHING!!

Not only do teabaggers hate President Obama, pregnant women, blacks, Hispanics, smart people, liberals, sick people, poor people, unemployed people, teachers, firemen, policemen, unions, clean air, clean water, clean energy......now they come out with THIS...... They HATE puppies!!!

The main philosophical principle of the conservative-led tea party movement is an “aversion to big government,” with tea party organizers turning their ire on comprehensive health reform, clean energy legislation, and even mandatory trash collection.
Now, a group of Missouri tea partiers have found a new target: regulations that would mandate more humane conditions in the state’s puppy mills. This November, Missouri voters will go to the polls and decide the fate of Missouri’s Proposition B, which would place new regulations on puppy mills, including mandating that they provide “sufficient food and clean water, necessary veterinary care, sufficient housing, including protection from the elements, sufficient space to turn and stretch freely, lie down, and fully extend his or her limbs, regular exercise, and adequate rest between breeding cycles.”
As TPM Muckraker’s Jillian Rayfield reports, the Missouri Tea Party and the Tea Party Patriots have begun organizing meetings against the proposition. One tea party activist described the measure as being about the “government or the big company trying to tell people what to do“:

The government is trying to tell people what to do! How hilarious. What do teabaggers WANT??? Go find your own fucking country to live in, we don't want YOU telling us what to do and how to live!

Christine O'Donnell trailing badly in 2 polls...

I don't usually like polls, with weeks to go before the election the polls are moving up and down and hard to decipher just yet who will come out on top. But these two polls make me optimistic, I think the voters are finally starting to pay attention.....

A University of Delaware poll released Wednesday showed Christine O'Donnell trailing Democrat Chris Coons by 19 points. And a Fairleigh-Dickinson University poll showed Coons up 53 percent to 36 percent.

What I love even more than O'Donnell trailing by a huge margin, is both polls showed Coons with a substantial advantage among Independents. I really believe we aren't giving the voters much credit to think for themselves. I'm guilty of accusing voters of being lazy and dumb sheeple, but this poll is good news for us and bad news for teabagger candidates. Only 25% of Independents nationwide have a positive opinion of the teabagger movement according to the latest NBC/WSJ poll. More than half have a negative impression of Sarah barracuda Palin! So what are we afraid of? NOTHING! It's the wingnuts who call us afraid, they want us to be afraid. Their future depends on it!

Did you see Rachel Maddow show live in Newark, Delaware last night? Wish I had been there, just around 20 minutes from my home!

Rachel and crew tried in vain to get an interview with Christine O'Donnell, but no such luck. In fact Rachel was thrown out of O'Donnells campaign headquarters!
Maddow said "they were greeted nicely by what appeared to be two junior staffers" but were "then insulted by a senior staffer" and left the building. Next, she said, "an angry guy followed them out and told us loudly that we all had to leave the premises and not come back." Maddow continued:  Other than that incident she loved Delaware!

Remember, O'Donnell did tell Sean Hannity she would focus on local media, so it's no surprise she would avoid Rachel. Surely she could not truthfully answer any questions from Rachel, afterall the voters in Delaware must be kept in the dark. These teabagger candidates, every single one of them, have avoided any and all national media, avoid all the tough questions, yet ask you the voter to support them in November. They are a national joke.

Last I heard O'Donnell will debate Coons on October 13th. I look forward to the reason for cancelling from the O'Donnell HQ!

The Chinese are coming for you!

Christine O'Donnell has said some incredible things in her life, most were on the Bill Maher show and are available on YouTube for your viewing and listening pleasure. But this article I am seeing tonight really takes the cake!
O'Donnell's comments came as she and two other Republican candidates debated U.S. policy on China during Delaware's 2006 Senate primary, which O'Donnell ultimately lost. First of all, can you imagine that dingbat discussing China and U.S. policy??

She said in the debate that China was plotting to take over America! She is claiming to have classified information but could not talk about it, but she added China had a carefully thought out and strategic plan to take over America and accused an opponent in the 2006 Senate primary of appeasement for suggesting that the two countries were economically dependent and should find a way to be allies.

She could not say more, she wishes she could, she wishes she was not privy to such info, but she is privy! OMG....
We know this woman's past, we know she is a religious radical fanatic, we know where she got this privy info...

"A country that forces women to have abortions and mandates that you can only have one child and will not allow you the freedom to read the Bible, you think they can be our friend?" she asked. "We have to look at our history and realize that if they pretend to be our friend it's because they've got something up their sleeve."

When I read this it took me way back when I was somewhere between 12 and 16, (that was a long time ago)
and my dad was saying the same thing to us kids in one of our typical Bible study Saturdays. Back in the late '60's and early1970's he told us the Chinese would storm America and we all would be massacred. Yes, Bud, it's true. Just ask mom. My dad was a fanatical religious man always reading, always studying the Bible, searching, searching, searching for the truth. But then he got caught up in a church that taught the most radical of wingnuttery you can imagine. The Church of God. I believe it was really the church of Satan.....
This is the exact same thing that I am hearing from O'Donnell, Sharron Angle, teabagger candidates and their followers.
These people are FANATICS! Oh another one I just remembered, Sarah Palin, she is in that group too. And now coming out this year, we can add Glenn Beck.

Where is Jerry Falwell when you need him...

Malcolm's guest post on Congressional Black Caucus!

Thank you so much Malcolm, you have done a superb job disputing Malcontents distaste for the CBC and other organizations he feels are not worthy of our time and taxpayer money. You will come away from reading this post with a better understanding of what the CBC is about and the good works they do for all Americans.
I hope you read this and leave your comments to Malcolm, thanks!

First off, I want to thank Sue for asking me if I’d be interested in writing a rebuttal to a post by Malcontent titled “What the Hell Is a Black Caucus and Why Are They Allowed to Exist?”  At first glance, someone not familiar with “Malcontent” might mistake his post for being a Stephen Colbertesque piece of satire.  Sadly, it quickly becomes evident that Malcontent is dead serious.

Malcontent asks what do organizations such as the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) do beside spread racism, yet he offers no evidence to back up his claim.  I did some digging to find out just what type of “nefarious” activities the CBC and the CHC had planned.

Below are just some of the items on the agenda for the CBC:

Promote Educational Reinvestment in Low Income & Disadvantaged African American Communities
Increase Access to Economic Security
Provide Just Housing Options
Address Global Poverty

Also, the CHC has a variety of task forces set up to focus on issues pertaining to the Latino community.  They include, but are not limited to, the following:

Agriculture and Rural Community
Civil Rights, Veterans and Worker Protections
Communications, Technology and the Arts
Education and Job Training

Damn those racist bastards in the CBC and the CHC!!

If you’d like more details on the positive activities conducted by the CBC and the CHC, please visit their websites:

CBC and CHC

Malcontent goes on to question why President Obama would attend meetings held by the CBC or the CHC.  He seems to be implying that President Obama is the first Commander-in-Chief to do so and as a result, is being racially divisive.  After doing a Google search (which took me all of a few minutes), I learned that George W. Bush met with the CBC and the CHC during his Presidency.  Here’s a question for the anti-CBC/CHC crowd: Does the fact that Bush met with these groups make him a racial divider?

In a perfect world, there would be no need for the CBC, the CHC and other types of special interest groups.  Because fairness and equality have yet to be achieved by everyone in this country, these groups serve a purpose.  I don’t see a problem with groups who have historically been victims of discrimination taking the initiative in making their situation better.  Why do some right-wingers see this as a threat?

Malcontent later steers the crazy train off the tracks by proposing that we do away with all sorts of benign black-oriented organizations/enterprises.  The United Negro College Fund, Miss Black America, The Black Award shows, Black newspapers, Black Magazines, Black Holidays are just a few of his targets. Again, it goes back to the “in a perfect world” comment I made earlier.  These entities weren’t created with the intent of separating the races.  Because of the lack of adequate and/or accurate representation within other mainstream outlets, publications/events such as Jet magazine, The NAACP Image Awards, The Black Chronicle, and the Miss Black USA Pageant were launched.   The creators recognized a void and sought to fill it.  I would think the right-wingers (who are always championing self-reliance) would applaud these efforts.

As for those who join Malcontent in wanting to see an end to the United Negro College Fund, chew on this:

Partial List of Scholarships for White Americans

For good measure, along with the aforementioned black-oriented organizations/enterprises, Malcontent wants to make like Anthony Fremont and wish Affirmative Action into the proverbial cornfield.   This is yet another instance of “In a perfect world…“.  As a supporter of Affirmative Action, what I find frustrating is that whenever I hear people say it needs to be eliminated, they do so under the assumption that the primary beneficiaries are minorities (mainly African Americans). This is simply is not true. It may come as a surprise to some of the opponents of Affirmative Action that the primary beneficiaries of these policies are white women. Here is the link to an informative article:

http://aapf.org/focus/episodes/oct30.php

In closing, the U.S. has made great strides in eliminating discrimination.  However, we still have work to do.   As a result, I feel there is a need for groups such as the CBC and the CHC.  What people who oppose these types of organizations don’t understand is if it’s good for the (fill in the blank with the group of your choice) community, it’s good for the country.  I know it’s a dirty word amongst many conservatives, but I think they could use a heaping helping of empathy.  A side dish of knowledge regarding race matters past and present in this country wouldn’t hurt either.

One Nation rally was a success, If you believe in unity, not divisiveness

This is what's being tweeted over and over and over....

Obama disappointed that there were only 50000 people in attendance of the #onenation rally of which only 100 were legal.

This is how immature wingnuts are. The size of the crowd has nothing to do with the content of the rally. It has nothing to do with helping our country get on her feet, helping the jobless,  those who are discriminated against, helping our nation come together in peace and prosperity!  This rally was made up of Americans talking about economic issues, jobs, education and equality. It was a rally to get the message out on how important it is to vote on November 2nd.

The difference in message between the One Nation rally and Beck/Palin rally was obvious. One Nation was about bringing the country together, Americans from all walks of life were at this rally with a message of unity.

The other rally so hyped by Fox and the Christians, was just that, Fox and Christians. It was people dressed as revolutionaries bashing the Obama administration. Blaming Obama for our countries descent into hell. Telling all the Christians if this country does not turn back to God we are doomed. Beck with his bulletproof vest on was channeling God, Palin was praying for the Rapture, teabaggers were holding misspelled signs, shouts coming from the rightiewhities to "give them their country back". What a sad, sad day for America, there was NO coming together pleas, no message to save our economy and put people back to work. Just Beck, Palin and The Christians, crying, whining, and praying....for God to give them back their country from the evil liberals and the Muslim black president...

Iraq Veterans Against the War

If you read my previous post you saw this insert and hopefully signed the pledge to stand with the Iraq vets. After I signed the pledge I received this email...

So far, 1,650 supporters like you have signed Iraq Veterans Against the War's Pledge to support Operation Recovery, our campaign to defend GIs' and veterans' right to heal.  We need just 350 more signatures to meet our goal of 2,000 by October 7.
Sign the Pledge today.
Just six days from now, we will travel to Washington, DC to publicly announce Operation Recovery: Stop the Deployment of Traumatized Troops campaign.  On that day, October 7, this nation will enter its tenth year of war in Afghanistan -- marking ten years of untold suffering for the Afghan people and silent pain for our troops.
With our Operation Recovery Campaign, IVAW will bring to light the private stories of trauma that an overwhelming number of veterans and GIs are coping with as they are sent again and again to continue these wars. And we will hold those responsible for deploying traumatized troops accountable.

Mental Health problems among our military are overwhelming
Published medical studies in 2008 and 2010 estimate that 20-50% of all service members deployed to Iraq and/or Afghanistan have likely suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  In real numbers this means 350,000 to 900,000 are dealing with PTSD.
And a recent Army Times article states, "At least one in six service members is on some form of psychiatric drug.  And many troops are taking more than one kind, mixing several pills in daily "cocktails" - for example, an antidepressant with an anti psychotic to prevent nightmares, plus an anti-epileptic to reduce headaches..."  It further cites that the Department of Defense spending on psychiatric drugs used by the active duty military has risen by 75% since 2001.
These numbers provide an outline of the picture of today's American military and what it must do to continue the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan indefinitely.  But next week in Washington, real veterans will be present to tell their personal stories and put a human face on the trauma they and thousands of others endure.

350,000 to 900,000 of our military suffer from post traumatic stress disorder???  This is astounding to me! Does this country need a wake-up call or what? Whatever will we do when we run out of recruits to fight these endless wars? Please visit this website, there is so much to read and so many different ways you can help these veterans.

Never Forget

Nine years ago today, I knelt and prayed to a god that I no longer believe in for protection against Muslim terrorists. Today I know that the world's biggest terrorists are the those who will stop at nothing to control land, resources, markets, and people. They are the capitalist ruling class, whose lust for profit cannot be satisfied. The world's people are not safe from poverty, hunger, war, and environmental destruction until that class is overthrown. Never forget.

Victors story,

Personal Information

Biography
I enlisted in the Army in August 2005. I deployed to Iraq in October 2006 as 25F (Network Switching Systems Operator/Maintainer) and returned in November 2007. While deployed, I turned against the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. In May 2009, I publicly refused deployment to Afghanistan and began refusing orders connected to his unit’s deployment. I was court-martialed in August 2009. I was sentenced to 30 days in jail and was demoted to the rank of Private. I was discharged from the Army on October 20, 2009 and was barred from re-entering the Fort Hood Military Reservation. I serve on the boards of directors of Iraq Veterans Against the War and Fort Hood Support Network, the governing body of Under the Hood Cafe.

When are we gonna start paying attention to these wars and our suffering veterans? And what about our suffering troops who are asked to sacrifice so much, for what?? Something terribly secretive and scary is happening in our country and nobody is paying attention!

The One Nation rally tomorrow will not only be about jobs and our future, but about protesting these endless wars. Please get involved, let your voices be heard!

10/2/2010.... One Nation Rally

This is just a tiny sample of the more than 400 organizations who have endorsed the One Nation working together campaign. This is gonna be an historic event. The people attending the rally and these organizations are the true face of America. These are the patriots, the givers, the job makers, the voices for us, the American worker!  This movement includes human and civil rights organizations, union and trade associations, nonprofit organizations, youth and student groups, religious and other faith groups, educational, peace, environmental, and ethnic associations, and any other groups and individuals who are committed to pulling our country back together now.

Hundreds of thousands will be at this rally. Are any of you planning the trip to DC?

This is the part of America I am proud to stand with, these are the true blue Americans! Glenn Beck eat your heart out!

“We are not a loud minority looking backward,” Ben Jealous, NAACP president and CEO said. “We're a strong, multiracial majority looking forward. And we need to harness our majority and make our narrative of hope and unity a renewed battle cry for change.”

United for Peace and Justice has this on their website...

On October 7th Iraq Veterans Against the War will unveil their first strategic campaign, Operation Recovery: Stop the Deployment of Traumatized Troops.
They are counting on all of us to support them in waging and winning this campaign. Winning this campaign is a big step toward stopping war and occupation in their tracks. Begin by signing the pledge, and sharing the campaign widely.

Liberals are doing great things around the country, it's time they get recognized! Teabaggerdom is so "yesterdays news"!
