We'll have to wait and see how this plays out with the voters, but games are being played once more and it SHOULD kill the thugs chances of winning back any power, but we shall see.....

Once again, the republicans show that they are willing to sacrifice the welfare of the economy, the welfare of the country, and the welfare of 98% of the people to satisfy the 2% of the population that earn over $250,000 per year.

Of course Senator "Don't Call Me The Church Lady" McConnell is going to want a tax cut for millionaires...Kentucky, tobacco money (Check please! Where's Boehner?), big time horse breeders, coal mines.
The theory is that you give big tax breaks across the board and the high rollers will....as noted liberal firebrand Pat Buchanan would say....show "economic patriotism" by reinvesting in America. But no one can force them to do so- a new vacation home or two in Costa Rica, some ritzy flats in London, a sweat shop in the Philippines might have more appeal to The Rich and Famous.
By keeping some of their money here perhaps we can get a few more things done, like more bridge and highway repair, more relief from the feds on the tax burden on the state level (ie, NJ), or to higher education and job creation.
There are thousands of people in that class- the wealthy- who are wonderful people and are benevolent, and have no problem with giving back to a nation that needs their help....ours.
Unfortunately, Mitch McConnell represents the greediest aspects of our culture- he's like a relic from the Coolidge Administration that rose from the grave to stalk mankind for perpetuity.

Dave I just told her how I deleted a follower and it was simple, she did not have to delete her whole blog. But I guess shes just deleting me because I delete her here all the time.

Aw that's nice of them to think of the wealthy. I mean, who will think of them otherwise? If the dems don't pound them into the sand with this, I swear I don't know what else it will take. How can they keep saying this, when the majority of the country, when polled, is saying yeah let the cuts expire on the wealthiest 1%. It does not help when we have Liebertoad and the Nelson's of the world helping them though. Someone needs to take some of these dems to a meeting and let them know what the platform is in ase they have forgotten.
Hugh you make a good point, there may be some in the millionaire class who would gladly pay more taxes to help the country. I've heard some rich liberals say that but never a conservative republican.

I figure the real reason Lisa killed her blog is that she can't keep it going. Requires brains, research skills and writing ability, no matter what one's political persuasion is. She's never had a real blog anyway and after one posy she's already run out of ideas.

McConnell has handed the Democrats a potent weapon against the Republican party -- if the Dems have the guts to use it.
If this can be put before the broad public and its real implications explained, the only way the Republicans can still win big is if all of Malcontent's multiple blog personalities swarm to the polls to vote.
I am still not sure it will drive people away from the thugs.. People seem to ignore the stupidity and just focus on the words "tax cut" and "tax increase".
You have to remember the entire TP thinks they have had their taxes increased when in reality they were cut in the Recovery Act. That's how stupid people are.
It is amazing to me, how they can not see what is right in front of their faces, but someway they can't see it.
