Michele might do it, Really, she might!

It was reported today on the Early Show Michele Bachmann is likely to run for president and this hilarious side-splitting news should be publicized round about June.

An adviser said this....... "Michele has been receiving an outpouring of encouragement to run for president--increased phone calls and online messaging,"  "I can now say it is very likely she will decide to run for president."

So, I predict Bachmann's small Minnesota constituency, who BTW are just as bat-shit crazy as she is, will be the only votes she receives....if she runs,

Trump is out, Huckabee's out, Barbour is out...that leaves Newt, Mitt, Sahara, man -on -dog Rick.....oh and Michele.....Embarrassed yet Righties??? Bwahaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaaa!

The only thing that is embarrassing is the media will vet any republican candidate going back 20 years but they never vetted Obama even going back 5 years.
I guess the media decides then doesn't it?
And while Obama's campaign will be against big business he will still get his big donations from Wall Street,Big Pharma and Big Oil.
Embarrased yet lefties?

Yeesh, and we thought Bush was unqualified. Bachmann is the kind of person who would try to win the war on hunger by bombing Hungary, and would deport the American Indians back to India.

Mary Mayhem said...

She would end world hunger by encouraging and helping Hungary to invade Turkey, and Lisa would be there supporting her the entire way! Obama has been in state and US senate seats since '97, but NO vetting was done at all. None. I mean just look at all these factual secrets the right is turning up about him. All of his secret lovers. His Keyanship. His ties to radical Islam. The way he makes Michelle and his daughters wear burkas and hijab. His fake Harvard degree. His secret love children. That person he killed in Reno just to watch die. The time he dodged the draft. White Water. His invisible Afro pick. His hidden stash of Murphy's. His love for ribs. His fake military service. His secret Soul Train Dance tape. His appearance in the "Whoop there it is" video. My God! We should have vetted him. We sure should have. I mean...he smokes cigarettes! Thanks Lisa. I am so embarrassed.

The way the republicans are going, the Democrats will not even have to campaign in 2012. The republicans are self-destructing.

Bachmann is desperate for attention. Following the Tea Party victories she thought she was entitled to a leadership position, but she didn't get it.

That's why she started the Tea Party Caucus, and why she's considering this run. She thinks it will earn her respect within the party... but I think she's very mistaken (if not delusional).

I doubt she'll run... although was sure Newt wouldn't run. But I also said Trump would drop out by today, which he did.

Mary Mayhem said...

Just what is it that you want to know Lisa? Has it occurred to you that he might be a decent person? Do you want his DNA and Sperm count? A urine sample? The number of hairs on his ass?

Dave Miller said...

Lisa, what do you want to know? Let's be real, you've already made up your mind.

What do we know about the people running for President that we did not know about Obama?

Has Mitt shown us his birth certificate yet? Maybe that's why he has not announced. Maybe he has two moms listed on it. After all he is a Mormon isn't he?

Get real Lisa and maybe one day explain to us all what your understanding of a false fact is, since you did say on your blog you use "both true and false facts."

Yet for some reason, you have never explained that. Don't we have a right to know?

Leslie Parsley said...

I'd say Obama was vetted ten thousand more times by the media than Palin was - at least by McCain, who didn't spend but one hour with this woman he'd never met before deciding to make the ditz his running mate.

Lisa is just your typical teabugging ass - too stupid to find her way out of a paper bag.

Well I for one am looking forward to this election cycle. With the aforementioned by Sue out of the picture, and if indeed Michele jumps in for the swim, it will be vastly entertaining.

We will get to not only watch the comedy sideshow of Bachmann, we will get to watch the greatest comedic act so far of the 21st century... Barrack Hussein Obama. Now what could be better than that?!!?

Two dweebs in a dwab.

Well Bachmann would certainly be the-least-knowledgeable-on American-history presidential candidate. She stated not once, but twice, reading from a TEXT, that the Founding Fathers worked tirelessly to end slavery in America, and READ TWICE, not misstated, again from a text that the "Shot Heard Round the World" happened in Concord, New Hampshire.

[Troll Alert: Stating the above more than once and from a text is NOT the same as saying there are "57 states." Bachmann's errors were repeated, and she didn't know enough to correct them. Mr. Obama did NOT repeat his misstatement about 57 states.]

Bachmann is an embarrassment to our educational system. Unfortunately, the GOP TPers think good looks are qualification enough to be the POTUS, and intelligence is just an option. LOL! This, from the party that disdains Hollywood for its superficiality and immorality

[Hello! Ahhhhhhnold!]

Speaking of Ahhhnold, I was living in SoCal when he was elected, and I remember very clearly how the GOP went bonkers over him and how popular he was--they claimed he would be the next Reagan. Orrin Hatch, I believe, wanted to CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION to allow a foreign born person to run for president, for goat's sake!

Hmmmm. Didn't we hear from a troll on this thread how Mr. Obama wasn't "vetted" properly?

Would someone like to point out to the troll the news about Ahhhhnold and GOP "vetting."

LOL!

Howard Dean is crazy? What the hell are you basing that assessment on? The so-called "Dean scream"? That was an instance of candidate enthusiasm blown WAY out of proportion by the media.

Your labeling of HD as "crazy" for this reason (if that is your reason) is laughably ridiculous.

If Keith Olbermann is crazy then I'm crazy. Because I can't think of one instance where I heard him voice his opinion on his program where I wasn't in 100 percent agreement with him.

Sue said...

yes, RN, you are calling the POTUS a comedy act. Am I missing something?

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

Grayson isn't crazy at all. He realized that the seat he won was in a traditionally Republican district. So he gambled that being audacious would help him keep it. He based this assessment on the positive feedback he received after he outlined the Republican healthcare plan on the House floor (he correctly pointed out that their plan is for non-rich people who can’t afford HC to die quickly).

His campaign made a strategic mistake with the "Taliban Dan" campaign ad, but airing (and standing behind that ad) doesn't mean Grayson is "totally off the charts". The Taliban Dan ad, as I pointed out on my blog, was factually accurate.

I'm hoping Michele runs. I know SNL feels the same way. The skits practically write themselves.

If Michele gets the GOP nomination, Obama's 2nd term is practically guaranteed. It'll be the GOP's own fault because you'd think they'd learn from the defeats suffered by Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell last year. A lot of these far-right Tea Party people (as popular as they are with their base), are poison to a majority of the voters.

Also, it doesn't do much for Michele's credibility when she gets called out by a high schooler:

There are a lot of people like RN who think this is all a joke, and would just as soon see America go down.

If we treat our government and its problems as a joke, America will go down.

No doubt there is humor in the political arena. It is the batshit idiots who claim to be good for the office of the President and good for the United States.

It's these Republican clowns that are worth a laugh, not the sad situation the country is in.

A Rand cultist (RN) would like to see it all get even worse. He (RN) wants to see the selfish Randian philosophy take over. Then surely America would die.

Laugh at these idiots (Bachmann, Palin, etc) but don't treat our situation as a country as a laughing matter.

We need people to take politics more seriously and VOTE. A lack of caring and non-involvement, is one of the reasons for our mess.

Voter turnout for these Republican wins over the last 30 years has been less than 60% and barely over 50%. The poorest voter turnout throughout the World.

Malcolm said...

Jerry: Good point!

With all do respect that is due you Tom, you haven't even a modicum of an idea of what you are talking about.

But then you aren't alone. There are plenty of progressive statist type that simply believe big intrusive government {Leviathan} can solve all our problems. They are wrong. The fact progressives choose to believe not in individual merit but rather collective mediocrity is the strongest argument to toss progressivism over the cliff, or under the buss.

As to cultist behavior Tom... Well methinks you personify a certain cult like derangement syndrome with our obsession to progressive/collectivism.

We are all entitled to our own opinions Tom.

Bachmann isn't stupid...she can win...If nominated she will beat Obama by about 55 - 60 percent of the popular vote. She takes all the Conservative and 80% of Independents...The only thing left is 20 - 30% of the left and some of the minority vote...Obama loses Fla, Ohio, W. RN: "...progressives choose to believe not in individual merit but rather collective mediocrity..."

RN, have you ever studied Japanese culture? It is based on collective excellence and the willingness of individuals to work together and/or sacrifice themselves for the greater good.

The Japanes have eaten our lunch in automobile manufactuing and electronics, a result of collective excellence.

I would observe that the individual as hero in the automobile industry, for example, saw those at the very top, the CEOs, make individual fortunes while ignoring the need for changes in car design and fuel mileage. The result of which we've witnessed--the Japanese surpassed us in automobile manufactuing, and Detroit is in shambles.

Most people in the political mainstream think that the people who I mentioned are NOT even remotely within that configuration. And, yes, you can connect the dots any frigging way that you want, wd, but Grayson (thanks, I forgot his name) took his opponents words blatantly out of context. Whether his overall assessment of the guy was accurate or not IS IMMATERIAL. The ends do not justify the means. And, besides, he also accused his opponent of being a draft dodger (with a record basically identical to Grayson's himself).

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

As for people like Olbermann, Maddow, etc., if they aren't bat-shit crazy, then they're partisan and dishonest as hell. Matching idiotic shills like Hannity and Limbaugh with you own (slightly less) idiotic shills is absolutely no way to go through life here, people.

It's communal taxation to pay for services that alone one cannot afford.
It's communal participation that built this country, not private corporations.
The American people made a commitment to progressive, helpful government, which they were willing to pay for. Republicans are simply cutting the funding and letting people die.
I don't worship at the feet of government; but yes, government has improved the lives of millions of our citizens, and ONLY government could have done it. To misunderstand those facts, makes you uneducated and better for blogging about flowers, not politics.
Before the safety net programs of the 1930's; religious, fraternal, and community organizations did not come close to meeting the needs, of the number of people in need.
Randian theory was disposed of long ago. It's basis of selfish, independent action, could never meet the needs of a large society.
By the way RN, thanks for all the annoying ads you posted everywhere, but the movie is the biggest flop since Pauly Shore made a movie.
The American people know a cult theory when they see one, and Rand has always been just a fun ideology to kick around in a conversation. I think even giving it conversation time, is a waste of serious thinking time.
I know you believe you are right, which only proves the point of your cult status, and stupidity.

When Americans finally voted in large numbers (2008) they elected a serious, good President.
And for those who think their vote does not count I ask you to remember the 2000 election, or the fact that, if you don't vote and people like RN do vote; well that's how we got into this mess.

I don't know if I've ever witnessed such hate and derision towards a whole party from President on down. Will,
Olbermann and Maddow are partisan. They say so themselves. Partisanship, in itself, is not necessarily a bad thing. To call them dishonest is a bit of a stretch, I think. I have hear both of them, more than once, admit they were wrong when the got the facts of something wrong. I think they strive to present the truth, but with a very partisan, progressive interpretation.

Again, that is nothing they hide. I wish their counterparts on the right were as honest with the facts, and just presented a partisan, conservative interpretation.

We could then have a reasonable dialog.

Let me give you an example of what I consider dishonesty coming from Maddow. On her first day of covering that special NY 26th race, she made a big deal about the Democratic candidate being 5 points ahead of the Republican candidate in a historically Republican district (she also credited the Republican's support of the Ryan plan for this situation). "That's interesting", I'm thinking......It wasn't until 2 hours later that I learned that there was a 3rd party candidate in that race - A TEA PARTY CANDIDATE!!!! - a tea party candidate who was no doubt sucking votes away from the Republican. Granted, she has since acknowledged the existence of this candidate, but 24 hours after she initiated the story......And neither has she acknowledged the fact that this Democratic candidate is infinitely far more my type of Democrat than it it is hers/yours (a major league bluedog, in other words)......Just one example.

Will: Olbermann, Maddow [are] dishonest as hell. Let me give you an example of what I consider dishonesty coming from Maddow. [Rachel Maddow left out some information in a story she reported].

Olberman and Maddow aren't "dishonest as hell"... I believe Jerry has it absolutely correct when he said, [Olbermann and Maddow] "strive to present the truth". I'm going to continue to go through my life listening to both of them. In fact, as a result of your near-daily bashing of Keith Olbermann, I've decided to proclaim my love for Keith by erecting a shrine to him on my blog. I encourage everyone to visit and share your thoughts regarding how awesome Keith is.

Regarding the information about a Tea Party candidate running in a race and Rachel Maddow not mentioning it... I think you weren't paying attention. RM did mention the TP candidate and you missed it. (or so I'm guessing, since I don't recall what it is you're talking about).

In regards to Grayson taking his opponent's words blatantly out of context... No he didn't. The political ad he ran represented exactly what Webster meant. The words were not out of context. At all. I explained this in great detail on my blog. Since that is the case your "ends don't justify the means" argument is non-applicable.

Also, Grayson and Webster do not have basically an identical record. According to a 9/17/2010 Orlando Sentinel article, "Grayson, 52, was too young for the draft and attended Harvard after the Vietnam era".

Lisa, you are mistaken about the rapper Common. His song does not idolize cop killers. His song says the "cop killer" is innocent and was framed. The song isn't an endorsment of cop killing. There is a huge difference beween "idolizing cop killers" and disagreeing with the verdict of a jury. The Right-wing is flat-out lying about Common.

Dave Miller said...

Lisa, before you get removed again, tell us why you won't answer a simple question asking what you meant when you said you use false facts...

wd, virtually every reasonable and nonpartisan assessment of what Mr. Grayson did in those two ads agrees with me, that they were in fact sleazy/dishonest. In the "Taliban Dan" ad (the title alone, My God!), they spliced and diced what Mr. Webster said in a certain speech and made it sound as if he were saying something much more cynical. That is dishonest and a perfect example of taking something/somebody out of context. Now, if Mr. Webster had made other speeches which much more effectively exemplified what the Grayson folks were trying to prove about him, then, yes, THOSE SPEECHES (in fuller context, preferably) could have and should have been used. But not the speech in which Grayson extracted certain sentences OUT OF CONTEXT. You do know what out of context means, correct?

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

The draft dodger ad may have been even more sleazy.
