Yes, the Navy Seals actually assassinated Osama bin Laden, but it was President Obama, not George W. Bush, who made the tough decision to go in and do it at that precise moment in time and take a very, very big risk.
Secretary of Defense and self-identified Republican, Robert Gates, who also served under GWB, said this about the operation:
