I think we are witnessing a death spiral :)

    The Republicans have spent the past 3 years with their heads together scheming and plotting of a way to convince  American voters they've made a herculean mistake by electing the Black Liberal as Leader of the Free World. But in doing so they have alienated themselves and turned the Grand Ole Party into the Grand Obstructionist Party. Even worse than that they have divided the nation and put the blame on President Obama.

   As Republicans in Congress watch the President's approval numbers rise, and as the GOP candidates for 2012 scramble to put forth some sort of attractive message that will cause voters to flock to the polls and vote R in November, it's becoming obvious the Grand Ole Party is imploding. They have nobody to blame but themselves.. .. last month, a pollster told House Republicans that their polling numbers had collapsed while Congressional Democrats have actually seen theirs improve.  The Republican Party is in a self- induced death spiral. This year will be extremely interesting, will the R's continue their scheming or will they work with Democrats and President Obama? Will the Kochs, Limbaugh and Fox news retreat in defeat?  Hardly....

The wingnuts will never give up till we pry their cold dead hands off of the country's throat.

Hopefully this November.

After another drumming by Barack Obama to the haste filled greed machine the GOP has become.

Actually....."nice' doesn't even BEGIN to cover it...........

I can only hope this is true - so far it seems very hopeful from a Democratic point of view. Let's hope their divisions go all the way to the convention and they do indeed implode.

Sorry, while the repubs do seem to be destroying themselves there is one absolute in life that works in their favor. No matter how deep in the ocean it may have been produced, shit floats and will always rise to the top.

BB, that isn't true 100% of the time, I've seen some heavy dense turds that sink to the bottom never to float...Limbaugh is one of them. His time will come.

How 'bout that Santorum come back last night? Pretty impressive heh? Wouldn't it be fun to see him debate Pres. Obama, it sure is getting interesting!

It is becoming very hard for republicans to put together a coherent message for voting for them instead of Obama. All they have are social wedge issues -- abortion, gay rights, etc., nothing about really running the country or managing the economy.

Not even Catholics would support Little Ricky.

A substantial percentage of Catholics (58%) agree with the inclusion of the contraception requirement in the ACA.

Reading Republican discussion sites, it's remarkable how much hostility there is between supporters of the different candidates or different variants of conservatism. Their absolutist, no-compromise, angry stance is coming out even among themselves.

so because of the large percentage of Catholics who support and use contraceptives, then the whiny Rightwing trying to turn this issue into a defining moment this campaign season are simply speaking to a very small group in the wingnuttiest part of the Republican base and will get them nothing... desperation is all it is.

Oh it was the republicans who divided the country?

Ummm Lisa, in one word;

Yes.

Nixon and his henchmen started it with their famed southern strategy.

Use code words like states rights, as stand ins for the former openly racist ways of describing the racism of the people who were switching to become republiscumbaggers.

Reagan used quite a lot of divisive language;

Welfare Queens?????????

Many "modern" day republiscunbaggers use very similar ;language to attack Hispanics.

They also use very divisive language to describe working people wo do NOT vote against their own economic interests, and against the GOper protect the rich at all costs.

they attack teachers, postal workers, auto workers, teamsters, and public employees for political gain.

Yes the right wing has used the divide and conquer strategy since Nixon's time.

The problem for the stupid GOPers is more racists are dying off now a days then they can brain wash their kids.

People are seeing the 3 decades of divide the country along economic lines and trying to give the rich special protections while attacking the middle class and using racist code language to attack the poor.

The right wing propaganda machine does this daily, rush, faux news, and right wing hate filled radio uses it as their stock in trade.

The whole ACORN lie was simply based on divide the country along racist lines.

Until the republiscumbaggers STOP violating the ideals of Lincoln and Christ, things will not change.

The difficulty with the GOP is they fail themselves on accountability and truth. They deserve to suffer anniliation.

It seems to me, Infidel, that the absolutist here is President Obama and his lovers. They don't want others to have the freedom to practice their faith as they believe God requires of them.

Obama is dictating how it is going to be and he dares anyone to disagree with his "wisdom" even when it is in direct oposition to the Constitution.

That, Sir(?), is absolutism in the purest sense.

Also, Sue, the old argument that Republicans want Obama out because he is black is so old and worn out. Why don't you try to think of a better lie?

get your info about our president, his religious practices, and whether or not he is infringing on your religious freedom ,from a reliable source then come back here to argue your case.

the "religious freedom" argument is manufactured by the religious right, evangelicals who know their precious GOP can't win the election in November so they are scrambling for a social hot button issue to rile up the base of morons...
