A divided left-wing

Why is it republicans stood behind a joke of a president like Bush, but when the majority of the country elects a democrat, a very popular democrat, the left can't make up its mind what it stands for? How can we sit by and let 3 or 4 obstructionist dems(yes I said obstructionist dems, not rethugs, we all know rethugs are irrelevant) take down the president and this very important reform that will shape his presidency!

Harry Reid I have one word and one word only... RECONCILIATION!!!!! Do Not take us back to 1994!

...that's exactly what I like about democrats they aren't repiggies! In fact, if this had been anything than a procedural vote, I would have been disappointed by the total adherence. DId you see where the GOP is proposing a GOP-eeper purity test for all it's candidates...and that's why they aren't in power. repigs are stupid and imploding before our very eyes.

Sue, it's the inherent mindsets between the GOP and the DEMS. Republicans need leader to tell them what to do so they fall lockstep in line with that leader but DEMS are more independent, autonomous thinkers, who can think and reason on their own on how to do things, so it's natural the DEMS wouldn't all fall in line behind Obama. Which is why Repubs are better at politics, because they do what they're told by their leaders, they don't question, they don't think, they just do.
And before you think this is just bias on my part, many scientific studies have shown these mental differences as real. Just google psychological differences between Democrats and Republicans, or between Liberals and conservatives.

Oh, don't worry, Sue. The administration will put pressure on the few hold-outs and Harry Reid will bribe them to vote for a bad bill by giving them $300 million dollars (as in the Landrieu case). I'm sure happy that this is the most honest, transparent, ethical Congress in U.S. history...NOT!!! The locked room secret middle of the night democrat meetings; the democrats sneaking out the back door (literally) so they don't have the required number of members there for a legal vote; the refusal to allow input by republicans; etc, etc, etc. I'm so impressed that Obama and his administration are such great uniters and not dividers. Between crooks, tax cheats, socialists, and thugs, this administration certainly inspires confidence and trust.

"Do Not take us back to 1994!"

I agree but this is what RealityZone said to me when I mentioned 1994 the other day...

"karen; are you saying that any health care bill is better than no health care bill? once this passes, what ever that may be. it will never be brought up again. this is not like a piano that will be fine tuned once it is over. when it is over, it is over."

susan said...

yup Linda...and otherwise the healthcare bill would never be allowed to have a senate floor debate. Is that what you wanted? the whole process was very transparent. Secret meetings weren't kept secret, locked but not secret...payouts were fully disclosed... Sounds like you would you like it otherwise?

1994 or 1984 take your pick. lol. a watered down bill co-authored by the ins. corps, compromised [cave in], is not my idea of reformed health care. the rethugs are irrelevant. When is the democratic leadership going to understand this. There is no bi-partisanship, there is no rethug input. Just jam it down their throats, and get it over with. Health care bel0ngs on Main St. not Wall St.

Its the DINO's that are making a mess of everything. They really need to put an "R" after their names.

The big tent Dem's don't mind if a few of them are right of center..and thats fine except for important issues. I might be a pain in the ass, and registered as 'decline to state' for for the love of pete, even I know what's important and which side I stand with.

Sue said...

great comments guys, I'm barely awake but must sit down and talk to ya before the baby gets here!

Susan I talked about that subject, yes they are imploding and they know what they are doing so good for 'em!

Zirgar I was shaking my head in agreement with you after the first sentence, it's so true! We have moderates, progressives, conservadems, the have moderates and conservatives but are already in the process of cleansing their party, ridding it of the moderates as Susan talks about. But on an issue as important as HC then they should be behind the president with no game playing and grandstanding!

Linda you talk as if you are in the building working side by side with my people, how lucky can you get. Thanks for telling us what goes on behind closed doors!

Karen I sure hope 1994 is not our future, I have to believe Reid won't be that stupid. I'm gonna have to retrace my tracks last night and find where someone was speaking about reconciliation, they seemed positive Reid would use it if forced.

Of course the rethugs are looking forward to this debate, they'll stand up there for all us to listen to their hideous lies and holier than thou grandstanding, get ready with your puke bags!

RZ after what I read last night I'm confident in Reids leadership. I gotta look for that post today!

Dusty you are exactly right, and yes the big issues need the dems to be united, I believe in the end they will!

The Democratic party has always consisted of folks with different beliefs and philosophies. The former Republican party, on the other hand, was cut from the same color of cloth. That's why the Dems are diverse, colorful and open to all. It's also why - well -why the Republicans are colorless and all look exactly alike.

Think back to the recent conventions. The Dems were there for serious business but they knew how to have fun and how to convene with flair. The GOPers were so scripted they were stiff. You didn't see one single woman in a pantsuit - they were all dressed in dresses or suits. No wonder they were so stiff - those girdles don't allow much room for bending.

Lisa said...

Maybe because they know their re-election is on the line because the majority of Americans know this is a bad idea for the country right now with an irresponsible way to pay for it,they have no plan to pay for it long term. It's a disaster as is everything else this admin has done.
Purposely weakening us. Dismissing concerns and "dictating" like they know what is best for us and showing the incompetence that we have been talking about for months.
The more they look down their noses towards the people like Charles Gibson the more push back they are creating.
Especially with the New York Obama Times helping spread the propaganda.

"so it's natural the DEMS wouldn't all fall in line behind Obama."

Until they are taken to the Oval office, scolded, bribed and threatened.

Lisa said...

Also if they really believed in this bill they would vote for it regardless, so it just proves they really don't care about healthcare as much as their own asses.

Leslie Parsley said...

Sue, thanks for posting.

BTW, in the preceding post I commented "There's sure a lot of fucking going on." It was meant as tongue-in-cheek. Having attended a nunnery boot camp, and been a creation of the 60s, and a former newspaper employee, I received solid training and plenty of practice. Not much offends me - except for right-wingers.

Sue said...

Leslie The right wingers offend me too, especially the stupid meaningless comments from lisa. Lisa, its time to call it a day. I know you are begging for someone to play with but please stop now!

Leslie I love your description of dems and rethugs!

Leslie Parsley said...

Sue, I'd love it if you kicked Lisa off or blocked her or whatever. It only takes one bad apple . . . . I think there's something mental there, like "beat me, beat me."

Sue said...

she desperatly thrives on negative attention. Maybe something to do with her childhood...

puddy said...

the pubes care about god, gays, guns, and taxes. that leaves a LOT for the dems to cover. the left-wing is part of a much more complex dialogue. requires thought. leads to interpretation. ends up in the same old quagmire. still, beats the alternative... so far.

Sue said...

I like your thinking Puddy, good comment!

Despite the polls that overwhelming show that the majority of Americans FAVOR a public option, I fear that we may lose it. While the GOP goose-steps on command, organizing Democrats has always been like herding cats.

RZ, did I beat FDL to the story?? LOL

Tom, I am more hopeful and much more optimistic than you!!

R. Zone ~ Quote ~ "When is the democratic leadership going to understand this. There is no bi-partisanship, there is no rethug input. Just jam it down their throats, and get it over with."

Love your Gestapo attitude...There was no republican input because they were not allowed to participate in the meetings...discussions were held in secret behind locked doors. The only thing that dems wanted from the republicans was an automatic "yes" during voting. That would have never been allowed had the republicans been in charge and you know it.

Your attitude is really obnoxious.

You have got to be kidding....right? You're not kidding? This has to be the single most ridiculous statement made on this blog in months. Seriously, I'm dumfounded that someone could actually be this ignorant.

The Wool Cupboard said...

T.Cat ~ Quote ~ "Despite the polls that overwhelming show that the majority of Americans FAVOR a public option, I fear that we may lose it."

Go back and read some national polls...you're wrong about overwhelming support. There is not even support amongst democrats. You are deluding yourself with your misinformation.

Tao Dao Man said...

Thank you for the compliment " obnoxious". LOL Your party loves to dish it out but they can not take it. Had the spineless dems starting shoving it down thier throat from the beginning we would not be in the mess we are in now. Not only pertianing to health care but Iraq, as well. Instead they carried the water for the warmongers. The dems have played softball with you guys for afar too long. One reason is that there really is no longer much of a difference. The corpotocracy controls both parties. Your party blatantly accepts it, and goes along to get along. The republicans always hate it when they are called out. WHY? Because their greed, and lack of understanding shows. You guys hide behind the constitution, as long as it is in your favor. Yes, i am obnoxious, and have been called a lot worst by the ilk of the rethugs. If you want to spew more xtian fascist rhetoric? Go to a tea party and bag yourself. Your fringe party claims of fear and denial are beyond any sense of civility. So yes i say, an eye for an eye. Prepare yourself. the fringe element of the rethugs will be exposed for what they are. Even the " normal " republicans will throw them under the bus. THEIR god send Cheney will be the first to be exposed for his war crimes.

Sue said...

Linda we all can read so stop with the annoying "quotes".
Isn't it the same as when the shrub was prez, he locked out the dems on Every single secret thing he and Dickwad did. So that don't float with us here.
Yes Leslie has a sense of humor. Tom is right, there is majority support for the PO, get your face outta Faux news!

Sorry about lindas rudeness RZ, but I see here you can handle her!

Tao Dao Man said...

SUE; No reason to apologize for Lindass. I have dealt with much more hard core trolls than her on marketwatchcom. I actually have empathy for their fright of losing their delusional thought of entitlement. They know deep down in their souls that their agenda, values, financial system, race baiting, and all around false sense of superiority is a dismal failure to society. Let them wallow in their own sewage. When the time comes, they will only wonder why? And why me? This broken system will swallow them faster than any political tsunami.

Sue said...

Lindas type does NOT believe they are doomed. They believe they are the truthful, superior ones. How dilusional they are, how pathetic, how WRONG on every thing they say and do. We can only hope they see the evil they pass off as Christianity. I think I have to blame their church leaders for lying to them. What they preach in those churches is not from the Bible, it's a hate filled sermon. (I'm not lumping all churches into one, don't throw me to the wolves!) These leaders like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, they are the types I'm talking about. I have to shut up now, I'm off topic and gonna get myself in big trouble!

Tao Dao Man said...

And then the troll clone slithers out of the shadows. LMAO. A new comic team of the [Troll Sisters] they are actually one in the same you know.

susan said...

Lisa...I'll see your " one yes man Dem", and raise you two "yes men repugs from utah" both of whom are in the fight of their political pathetic careers. When the democrats pass a (any sort of) health care bill, they will enjoy a decade of power. That's how it worked for the Labor party of UK and that is really what this is all about! pleaseee go google it. Its true, but you won't find it in the fox-hole news.

susan said...

Hey, wait!! I have a couple of twin cousins named "lisa" and "linda" Is that you? What's you doing for thanks giving? How's your mom?

Tao Dao Man said...

Susana;LMAO=== Sorry but that dynamic duo are invited to Palin's back yard for turkey. So they can see, and talk about Russian foreign policy. NYET

Sue said...

lisa I was talking to RZ, not you.

the bill is paid for, for the 2 millionth time of trying to get you morons to LISTEN!!!! IT's gonna reduce the deficit, BELIEVE IT OR GO AWAY!!! There will be a bill signed by the president it will be a good thing, it will give dems a decade of power, thats a good thing HUH!!

Lisa said...

Reducing the deficit is just a White House talking point.
Actually they are the only ones who see to think so. Actually they really probably don't ,they just say it and people believe it.
How can you rduce the eficit by expanding a program that is almost broke?
Like the title of your blog goes.......

Lisa, before you open your piehole, why don't you read the CBO analysis of the Senate amendment.

CBO and JCT estimate that, on balance, the direct spending and revenue effects of
enacting the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would yield a net reduction in
federal deficits of $130 billion over the 2010-2019 period

The CBO doesn't play favorites btw, so don't even try to go there.

Christ you freaks are really pushing YOUR talking points aren't ya?

If you need a link to the CBO analysis, let me know.

There was a time, not long ago, Lisa, where Frodo thought the term "Howler Monkey" characterized your incessant and shrill monologue. However, after noting your inability to absorb the documented numerical fiscal perspective offered by healthcare reform, Frodo believes that a revision is necessary.
For the record, 15.3% of the GDP of the United States of America in the year 2007 was expended on costs of healthcare. Perhaps you'd like to compare that result with other nations around the world, or, if you have any imagination, you can compute the actual savings in dollars if the United States were able to match Japan, or Switzerland, or Taiwan, or ad infinitum.
Given your propensity to drivel, Frodo will tonight proclaim Lisa, tonight's "Most Irrelevant Person in the World."

"A divided left-wing" Is the title of this thread. I guess i am more radical thinking [socialist, anarchist] than most on this blog or many of the other so called [liberal] blogs around. My patience has run thin, as i believe that we are running out of time. as [Susana ] said. We have to look at it on a global scale. Not on a national scale. The whole effen planet is is jeopardy and we are bickering about two simpletons. Today The Obama Administration refused to sign the ban on LAND MINES. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
