Trayvon Martin was killed for WWB...Walking While Black

Just imagine raising kids in today's society, having to worry about bullying from their peers, underage drinking and driving,  texting while driving, endless hours of homework, expensive after school sporting equipment to purchase....but do you worry about your 17 yr old walking to the corner 7/11 for a can of iced tea and a box of Skittles? Do you worry for his life as he walks home alone in the dark? No, not usually, not if you live in a safe gated community like Trayvon Martin's Dad did...

This is 2012, I thought Jim Crow was DEAD!!!  Trayvon Martin was a 17 yr old "GOOD KID", he was minding his own business walking down the sidewalk, when George Zimmerman, self appointed neighborhood watchman called the police to report a suspicious looking dude. Zimmerman was TOLD to leave the kid alone, stop following him, but he wanted nothing more than to hunt down that black boy and shoot him in cold blood, JUST BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK.....

Listen to the 911 tapes, you will hear the screams of the boy as Zimmerman chases him down like a hunted animal....Trayvons girlfriend on the cell phone with him tells him to run, he says no, he'll just walk fast...OMG...as the Mother of 2, I can not bare to imagine the fear in the heart of that young man, being chased by a mad man with a gun....a White man, murdered a Black teenager, just for being Black,  on February 26th and he has not been charged....

Just imagine if a Black man murdered a White teenager, just for being White, where would he be? This is 2012, Jim Crow is alive and well...

This happened in Sanford, Florida. This story is just beginning to unfold thanks to the media and people like you and me signing petitions, people like Ben Jealous, and Rev. Al Sharpton, Civil Rights leaders and Congressmen and women. Thanks to Trayvon's parent for not giving up, for calling on the FBI for help because the local police department was of no help to them....A young man is dead, laying in the morgue for THREE DAYS, was tested for DRUGS! Was Zimmerman drug tested? NO, Was Zimmerman arrested for murder? NO...He walked a free man, carrying his gun....

The 911 tapes....they are chilling.. "they always get away" Zimmerman says. Well this one will not, he'd make sure of that...Zimmerman shot an unarmed innocent teenager, he should be arrested and charged in the cold blooded murder of Trayvon Martin! George Zimmerman is a MURDERER!

The hate coming from the Right.....it can't be denied

While on Facebook tonight, like every night, I came across this comment from a hater on a friends posting about Limbaugh hurting the Republican party...
Harry said: "Ain't no way in hell that monkey gets reelected. He's going back to the zoo where his wife will be featured in an exhibit on living proof of Darwinism."  Yes the moron was speaking about President Obama and the lovely First Lady.

Well, after my choice words to hateful Harry, another friend posted this link of an OP-Ed in the Arizona Daily Star which speaks to the hate coming from the Right ....

 Fitz: Piffle

In January on my facebook page I posted a sampling of unsavory online comments which followed the Star story about the vigil at the mall that month. I wanted my friends on the right to see what their brethren were saying about the Memorial and about Giffords. Some of my friends responded with a gust of astonished revulsion as though a cat had thrown up at their feet. Others wanted to know what possessed me to lift the rock-- as though I had exposed subterranean dwellers to daylight. Readers were abandoning their keypads, scurrying to fetch disinfectants and pesticides. Others informed me they never read online comments because once was enough.

Why lift the rock? Because I believe they represent the modern norm. They are not the exceptions. They are the spawn of FOX and talk radio on 12 cups of coffee unfettered from the chains of conscience and responsibility. They are the energized base. In times of economic drought the fringe take root and grow while the wise wither. How else can you explain an educated centrist moderate pragmatic public servant like Giffords nearly losing the last race to a galoot whose education ended at high school, a patriot soldier who did little more than channel the worst of talk radio. Kelly was supported by ordinary folks who went with their gut and rejected that “Marxist Socialist Giffords” and paid little attention to the utter incoherent nonsense their candidate spewed. Because they were afraid.

Whether its Rush Limbaugh calling a young Georgetown student advocate for family planning a “slut” or it’s an online commenter mangling my name it’s the same angry fear-fed beast. In this age of anonymity such dark voices whisper in our ears constantly. And to the great sea of superficial disinterested citizens who are lucky to pick up a soundbite or two a month this hate is the currency of political commerce today. This language is the kind of talk we once imagined was reserved for the darkness on the edge of a lynch mob. Such irrational talk and anger, no longer gilded with shame, is commonplace today. One can now speak ugly “truths” because one must speak up. Examine the national campaign underway and you’ll smell the revolting stench of shameless pandering to an illiterate and superstitious base that is happy to be entertained with cartoon villains and bumper sticker treatises. Happy to be cheered by poisonous rhetoric that stalls critical thinking and reinforces mindless assertions of blather as fact. Arpaio’s utterly embarrassing Birther show is exhibit A. The right has abandoned Ike and Nixon and even Reagan. It has kissed classic Conservatism so long and hitched a ride on the backs of the more expedient goober movement.Today it values power over truth, worships arms above man, cultivates the underclass with a fantasy economic ideology, despises government, mocks the poor, inflates and exploits petty issues for political ends, offers no constructive ethos, questions the patriotism of dissident voices, engages freely in scapegoating and demands purity from its foot soldiers.

You can read the whole piece here...

It's an excellent piece that will piss off the in denial Righties,.... tough shit, read it!

I have a few conservative friends on Facebook, they consider themselves "normal patriotic Tea Partiers", caring and thoughtful Christians, but they beg me to listen to Rush Limbaugh, they love Glenn Beck, and Mark Levine, they admired Andrew Breitbart! Sorry, this is not normal in my book...You can't claim to be sane then listen to Rush Limbaugh call a young college woman a slut and you defend Limbaugh, not the woman!! Not once did those friends say Limbaugh was wrong!

We have different brain cells, I'm positive of that!

A little background...

for Lisa and the Righties who claim Barack Obama came out of nowhere, a virtual nobody who was portrayed as a Messiah to steal the presidential election....

Fanfair

Harvard Law Reviewed

Kicking down doors.

The new president of the Harvard Law Review was somewhat taken aback by the deluge of media coverage that followed hard on the heels of his election. The New York Times ran a “First Black” headline, which probably won’t be the last time that label is affixed to Barack Obama. The twenty-eight-year-old law student says he wasn’t going to run for the office until a black friend talked him into it. “There’s a door to kick down,” the friend argued, “and you’re in a position to kick it down.” The job does give him a great forum, but there’s a trade-off. “I like to read novels, listen to Miles Davis,” he says. “I don’t get to do that anymore. I don’t get dates anymore.” Still, he’s philosophical, even briskly cheerful, about his lost leisure. And that’s because Barack Obama has a game plan: he wants to tackle the quagmire of America’s inner cities. Federal money alone won’t do it, he argues. The deeper problem is that “those communities are unorganized. We need to get more people planning.” For preparation, Harvard Law School is a “perfect place to examine how the power structure works. It gives you a certain language.” When he’s fluent, he’ll be able to translate the language of the streets (“which I can speak”) into the language of the Establishment, and vice versa. The sense of mission derives in part from his experiences in the Third World. He saw brutal poverty while growing up in Singapore [Editor’s note: We should have said Indonesia.] with his mother, an anthropologist, and his half-brothers and -sisters in Kenya still live hand to mouth at times. Obama says that his late father’s experience in the Kenyan government left him a broken and bitter man, and he responds warily to the assumption that he himself will run for office. “If I go into politics it should grow out of work I’ve done on the local level, not because I’m some media creation.” Though, as media creations go, he’d be a pretty good one.

My President, he's been around for a long time, a real mover and shaker, a real American who cares about ALL Americans...Do I think we are lucky to have him? You betcha I do!

I'd rather be a snob than a dickhead....

I hope this video goes viral, I hope the masses see Rick Santorum as the dangerous religious wingnut that he really is but doesn't want the general public to know it. He thinks he's saving all these good little tidbits for just his moron base of religious zealots, but sorry frothy guy, these extreme statements do have a way of getting around, something called the world wide web!!! God how I pray this pig gets the nomination so he can debate our highly esteemed President Barack Obama! Our president a SNOB??? Who is he trying to fool? Oh yes, the sheeple you see laughing and cheering his extremist words on in this video..get your barf bag out before you view it....

"I don't want some Liberal Professor indoctrinating our kids, I want to create jobs so people can makeover their kids in THEIR image!" What the fuck does that mean?? I'm just speechless by this vile disgusting video....how many more months of this?? Hurry up November I can't take it!!

The Right likes to accuse President Obama of "wiping his ass with the Constitution", Butt.....

In actuality, it is the Right who is shredding the U.S. Constitution....

The No Religious Test Clause of the United States Constitution is found in Article VI, paragraph 3, and states that:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
This has been interpreted to mean that no federal employee, whether elected or appointed, career or political, can be required to adhere to or accept any religion or belief. This clause immediately follows one requiring all federal and state officers to take an oath or affirmation of support to the Constitution, indicating that the requirement of such a statement does not imply any requirement by those so sworn to accept a particular religion or a particular doctrine. The option of giving an "affirmation" (rather than an "oath") can be interpreted as not requiring any metaphysical belief or as a nod to Mennonites and Quakers who would not swear oaths but would make affirmations.

Can someone inform the GOP candidates for POTUS, Franklin Graham, and Fox Nooze?... PLEASE!!!

The Good News Club

The Religious Right likes to accuse the Liberals of indoctrinating our school children,  Rick Santorum is calling for government and even state governments to get out of the business of funding public education, if you disagree with them then you should read this book......

"If you are a freethinker, a liberal, a religious moderate, a member of any religion other than evangelical Christianity, or simply someone who appreciates that these United States are a free nation, formed under secular principles and under secular laws, then you absolutely must purchase and read this book.

If you are a fundaloon (a Fundamentalist Christian Lunatic), then you do not need to read this book. You already know what you and your anti-democracy fascists are up to.

The Good News Club is one of many organizations within the evangelical Christian movement that was formed and is dedicated to "breaking down the doors" of America's public schools. Their methodology is outlined here, but is acknowledged by the various leaders and funders of this "club". There is nothing secret there, but the "stealthy" part is that when they do approach a school with their series of "after-school" bible studies, they sanitize their approach as being non-denominational and inclusive, when it is anything but.

According to Ms. Stewart, In Post-War (WWII) America, public education and interpretation of the First amendment's Establishment Clause were based on three pillars:
1) That the public schools should remain secular
2) That peer pressure is intimidation
3) That religious activity INSIDE the schools would be construed as being the SAME as religious activity BY the schools
Recent Supreme Court decisions by an ACTIVIST CONSERVATIVE court, led by Thomas and Scalia, have shredded the basic principles of the First Amendment. They have deliberately, as part of their fundamentalist Christian ideology, destroyed the Establishment Clause and made religious activity part of the Exercise of Free Speech Clause. Thus, the Establishment Clause has been rendered redundant or meaningless.

This movement is organized and well-funded. The various evangelical legal arms have a 300 million dollar per year budget. And they are concerned with only one issue: getting their version of their specific religion into the public schools and hopefully into control of those schools, and eventually our nation. By comparison, the ACLU has a budget under 100 million dollars, and they have dozens of concerns and battles to fight. In fact, at times, the ACLU has actually supported the free speech rights of the religious fanatics!

States Matthew Staver, founder of the Liberty Counsel, which provides legal counsel for the Child Evangelist Foundation (CEF--runs the Good News Clubs) and other Christian Nationalist organizations: "We're fighting against spiritual powers. Behold there is a battle between two nations...Satan is a strategist of war. He hates Jesus Christ...and especially someone who wants to introduce someone else to Jesus Christ, specifically the most strategic link that we have among us, children age five through twelve...If that's the truth, why would we be unaware that that would be the most strategic face of Satan?"

If you are a parent who does not believe in the literal truth of the bible, if you do not attend the "right" church (evangelical fundamentalist bible-believing), if you do not wish to live in a theocracy governed by selected Christian MALES who will decide all issues according to one singular apocalyptic interpretation of one version of the bible, if you do not wish for these deluded loons to have unfettered school-approved access to YOUR children and to all other children, then the above quote is and should be terrifying to you.

Ms. Stewart writes in a clear straightforward manner and is a parent herself. In fact, it was the experience of running into the Good News Club at her child's school that motivated her to research this subject and eventually write this book.

The battle for Reason and Reality is not over. The fundaloons see every one of the rest of us as minions of the Devil at worst, unsaved sinners at best. Their motives are clear, their reasoning is dishonest and delusional, but they are not stupid and they are not going to surrender. These are the home-grown versions of the Nazi jackboots and the Saudi "airplane pilots" who made 9/11 a date that has come to symbolize all that is wrong with extreme religion"

This is a review of the book on Amazon.com....Do you agree?
