Leslie posted Lennon's Give Peace a Chance and made me want to join in with Imagine, one of my all time favorite Lennon songs. The guy was a musical genius, I fuckin love this song and could listen to it all day! Enjoy!
AWESOME!

He meant what he wrote and sang.
I remember when the Nixon people actually had him under surveillance.
And they were calling this song his Communist Manifesto.
If Lennon was a Marxist, then I will stand by his side, and say that I am a Marxist.
I remember RZ. Its nice to listen to these awesome songs and forget politics for one night. I love this guy, bless his heart and soul, these songs make me cry...
Nixon was a typical paranoid right winger.
Yes, Lennon was quite the talent.
I always thought Lennon was under rated as a guitar player.
He also loved money as much as anyone. He loved it with a conscience though. And say what you want about Yoko. I remember them on Dick Cavett. Yoko had an incredible ass.
I see myself as this generation's "John Lennon" of the blogasphere. I love the same things John did. Music. Social justice and a nice ass.
Bwahaaaaahaaaa! Truth you are too damn funny! You had me ROFLMFAO....
The important thing is John loved Yoko, those who hated her were just jealous of him finding true love..
Wonder what his son thinks about all this?
You know. The throw away.
Yeah, da man! Imagine this, my thirteen year old daughter, LOVES the Beatles, and especially John. Makes me proud to be a daddy. Good damn choices, Sue.
It was hard choosing just a few JJ, so many beautiful songs by The Beatles as a group and as solo artists. Now that was MUSIC!
Loved his music, hated his politics. BTW, I posted a response to your comment on Self Evident Truths, if you care to reply; I am curious about your answer.
Velcro, as a peace lovin liberal I find it hard to understand how anyone would hate the politics of peace. give peace a chance...
Sue..thanks for the reply. Peace isn't the problem, its great. The question is how do you define it? Lack of war? Good. Lack of oppression? Great. But its oppression when a kid gets in trouble for throwing the 2nd punch in self-defense, and the kid who started it has no consequence, isn't it? I'll stop there, but thanks for the opportunity to comment!

Count me as your chief groupie.
LOL!
I'm proud to say that my grandson knew all the words to "Imagine" when he was 4 years old.
We bought a musical mobile for his crib when he was born, and that song was programmed into it.
His older brother stood on street corners in the town in SoCal where he lives and held up signs against the anti-gay California Prop 8 during the 2008 campaigns.
I'm proud of my two little Libs in California!
Oh Shaw how nice for you to have your little liberals! Teach 'em young, right! Unfortunately my son is a Bush lovin', O'Reilly watchin' rethug and my daughter is apolitical. Guess I have the granddaughter to teach all about the democratic process and peaceful liberal values...
That's cool having a groupie. Especially since I always considered Shaw one of the A listers in this community. If anything, I've always been one of her biggest admirers. Platonically of course. My marital status prevents me from commenting on anything below the neck of a female who knows where I live.
how come I don't know where you live?? I'm a groupie too...Hmmmmm
