Rethugs are poised for war........again

I saw this on a rightwing blog and had to bring it to you word for hideous word. WTF is the rightwing of our country trying to do?? This should be enough to turn your stomach and NEVER ever allow the thugs to have power in our country, EVER AGAIN!

Put that in your coke pipe and smoke it Obama. When Republicans take back the House in November your Muslim-Marxist agenda is so over.

Nearly one third of the Republican congressmen in the U.S. House of Representatives have introduced a resolution that would support Israel’s right to use “all means necessary to confront and eliminate nuclear threats posed by Iran”, including military force. The resolution was introduced by Rep. Louie Gohmert [R-Texas] and 46 co-sponsors.
House Resolution 1553 “condemns the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for its threats of ‘annihilating’ the United States and the State of Israel, for its continued support of international terrorism, and for its incitement of genocide of the Israeli people.”
It “supports using all means of persuading the Government of Iran to stop building and acquiring nuclear weapons” and pledges that the U.S. will ensure that Israel “continues to receive critical economic and military assistance, including missile defense capabilities, needed to address the threat of Iran.”

In addition, it “expresses support for Israel’s right to use all means necessary to confront and eliminate nuclear threats posed by Iran, defend Israeli sovereignty, and protect the lives and safety of the Israeli people, including the use of military force if no other peaceful solution can be found within a reasonable time.”
Iran lobby alarmed The National Iranian American Council (NIAC), a pro-Iranian lobby group, is up in arms over the proposed resolution.
“Obviously we are reaching silly season in Washington with the elections in November,” NIAC’s founder-president Trita Parsi told RN, a news venue that focuses on Russian issues. He added that “there have already been some signs that Israel is going to be a major element that some Republicans will use to get both voters as well as finance, donations to campaigns, away from the Democrats.” (Silly season, indeed. You guys are peeing your pants)

However, Parsi said, “even silly season has real repercussions on the real world.” The resolution would send “a dangerous signal” to Israel, that some in congress would welcome military action by it against Iran, while the White House and U.S. military oppose such a strike, he argued. (‘Dangerous signal’ to Israel? Don’t dream)
NIAC’s website warned that the “game plan” behind HR 1553 was spelled out earlier this month by former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton in the Wall Street Journal, when he wrote: “Having visible congressional support in place at the outset [of an attack] will reassure the Israeli government, which is legitimately concerned about Mr. Obama’s likely negative reaction to such an attack.”

“The Obama Administration quietly resisted Congressional efforts to pass unilateral economic sanctions for over a year, before ultimately giving in to Congressional pressure,” NIAC wrote. “Now that  (hardly)‘crippling’ sanctions have been put in place, the far-right wing and Iran-hawks have begun openly advocating for what has always been their ultimate objective: war with Iran.”

NIAC warned that an attack on Iran would ignite a regional war that would put the lives of “innocent Americans, Iranians, and Israelis” in harm’s way, as well as risking the pro-democracy movement in Iran, U.S. national security and the stability of Iraq and Afghanistan and the global economy, which relies on oil from the Persian Gulf.
NIAC denies allegations that it is used as a tool by the Iranian regime, citing its condemnations of human rights abuses in Iran. (Talk is cheap) Israel National News

are you horrified, terrified?? The warmongering rightwing is on the march.... will it ever end?

I'm mystified that the American people will vote for these nut jobs.

Me too Tom. I was just reading another wingnuts blog, he was making fun of Kucinich because he's calling for the war to end NOW. This wingnut is a warmongering, fearmongering wacko saying if we pull out of Afghanistan we will surely be attacked like on 9/11! That is absurd!!

The American Right Wing says the United States government is too incompetent to run education or healthcare, patrol our borders, prosecute criminals, keep us safe from international terrorism, reform and regulate commerce and banking, and restore jobs lost to (insert an emerging economic power).

But America DOES have the know how to conduct overt and covert military operations, and to expedite them efficiently, economically and successfully.

In other words.... we're damn good at waging war.

Yep....there's nothing like being consistent. And it's times like these that I'm glad I don't have any kids, draft age or otherwise. I did my share, so did my Dad, and his father....and that's more than most. Enough.

Sue said...

Hugh there has been some talk about bringing back the draft because the wingnuts might actually think twice about waging nonsensical wars if their children and grandchildren could be drafted! I think it's a good idea!

If we nuked and killed em all then Haliburton could make a boatload of money selling their new inventory of anti radiation suits to oil companies that go there to take the oil from the dead Iranians.

I'm sorry Sue. I'm buying Haliburton and BP tomorrow! Soon I'll be like my big brother TAO and be able to buy and sell most of these righty, war mongering idiots.

Sue- I was among that last group of those who served before the draft was discontinued in the early 1970's.....and I hated the draft then.

But I hate what's happened today even more, with "stop-loss", continued extensions of duty, and the use of reservists over and over again- some of these people are grandparents, for cryng out loud!

To be fair, when a nation becomes involved in a long, protracted military conflict all of it's citizens should be involved, not just 1% of the population....if the possibility exists of our sons AND daughters being selected and sent off to war through a lottery with only medical and extreme hardship deferments, maybe we'd be more selective and be wiser in picking our battles.

It will never happen though....the party that tries to reinstate a draft would get slaughtered at the polls.

Patriotism is a noble thing, so long as the other guy is getting shot at.

Hugh has that right. The only people who want to start wars are the same ones who avoided it in the past by either getting a desk job or being dismissed for so-called medical reasons. Such as Golfer John's bad back. Those same people are the same people who would oppose the draft now because they don't want their kids fihghting their dirty battles. It's always much easier when it's someone else's kid - or grandparent.

One thing the military learned from Vietnam: End the draft, end protests against war. At least the amount of protest that could actually effect the waging of war.
I'm all for reinstating the draft. Seeing the dead soldiers coffins coming home. Seeing the front line killings.
It's un-american to have so few be responsible for the security of all of us.
It's unfair for soldiers to do so many tours.
If we as a country decide to wage war, then all have to make a sacrifice.

Wow you libs are amazing. You all sound like Keith Olbertmenn And Rachael Maddcow. Why is that? A in a LA Times/Bloomberg poll 4% of Democrat wouldn't vote for a black person while only 3% of Republicans wouldn't vote for a black person. That make Democrats 25% more racist then Republicans. Shame on you Democratic racist and your liberal ideology that fosters that kind of racism by trying to pin black against white and poor against rich.

Sue said...

Chris I Googled LA Times/Bloomberg polls and the only entry after 2008 was your stupid biased opinion post.
What pray tell does your dumb racist talk have to do with conservatives warmongering and fearmongering and their zest for war??

conservatives are SOOOOOOOjealous we have Rachel on our side, she is the best. And you have who that compares?? Coulter?? Bwahhaaaaaaaaaaa

Sue said...

I still have to agree with Tom, reinstate the draft if we MUST go to war. Lets see how mant Must Have wars we have then.... This country and their love of war makes me and the rest of the world ILL!!

Hugh Jee From Jersey said...

Relax Sue....if their only recourse is to change the subject and talk about what they want to talk about.....well it's a little pointless and pretty pathetic.

But don't mind me...I'm only a pathetic Vietnam Era War vet who lives under a bridge because the commie bastards took my guns away and gave all three of my part time jobs to illegal immigrants, and are forcing to convert to Islam.

But at least I'm off drugs.

Sue said...

I'm glad you're off drugs Hugh ;-)

They're aguing with me the rightwingnuts blog, they think the Taliban wants America, yea right. They are delusional assholes. They want to be Afghanistans police force and control the Taliban, well they can go ahead over and do that but send the innocents home who are FED UP with the war! Those who speak the loudest and say "fight on!" are the pussies who would not dare put on a uniform and enlist!

jadedj said...

Sue, the idea is horrifying but I am not at all surprised. I also am a Vietnam era veteran, and I agree with George Carlin..."Americans love war...and we are good at it":

We are the country with the Most foreign interventions in the world.

We have been engaged in 289 conflicts, attacks, wars, operations, occupations, and policing events since the formation of the country. 289 in slightly over 200 years.

To name a few:

American Revolutionary War
War of 1812
Mexican-American War
American Civil War
American Indian Wars
Pre-meditated Indian massacres
Spanish-American War
Philippine-American War
World War I
World War II
Korean War
Vietnam War
Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm
Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan
2003 invasion of Iraq

Let's hope the opposite side of the aisle has the balls to stand up to this insane idea.

Oh yea - about the war with Iraq. It's inevitable as long as the US continues to be the neighborhood bully.

We're even saber-rattling quite loudly with North Korea.

Is-Ra-El! Is-Ra-El! Is-Ra-El! (Chant to the tune of USA! USA! USA!)

It is notable that Saudi Arabia and other muslim countries have given Israel the green light, along with overflight permission.

"Where is it the Republican ex-presidents go to hide??"

To gloat in their hideous presidential library - of shame.

Lisa said...

so how do the Democrats plan to contain Iran besides having Rashid Khalidi help fund another Flotilla named "The Audacity of Hope".

Just like in Arizona let's go after law enforcement who is having to do the federal government's job and give all the rights to the criminals.
So cops have to watch their backs from the government but Obama and Holder are watching the backs of the criminals.
Someone has to step up and deal with reality.

TOM said...

Bush was President for 8 years why didn't he deal with the reality?
It's crybaby stuff from bad losers; blame Obama for everything Bush did not do.

Lisa said...

Mr Power Point is doing enough blaming for all of us.

If Israel were to attack Iran, we qould get sucked into it faster that Teabaggers get sucked into insane beliefs. Where would we get the troops? Aren't the Brownie Scouts already deploying to Afghanistan? ;-)
