There's no denying it when we have the signs to prove it...

NAACP considers resolution condemning racism in Tea Party movement

At the organization’s national convention this week, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will propose a resolution “condemning racism within the tea party movement.” The resolution calls upon “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.” NAACP leaders said the resolution was “necessary” to make people “seriously” consider what leaders “believe is a racist element within the tea party movement.” Tea Party leaders, however, vehemently deny allegations of racism and call the proposed resolution “unfair”:

Brendan Steinhauser, director of campaigns for FreedomWorks, claims there is no racism in the tea party movement. They are opposed to it he says....Then he goes on to say the NAACP has a political agenda and they (NAACP) should know the tea party movement has alot in common with the Civil Rights movement!
Steinhauser’s memory is conveniently short-term, ignoring the Tea Party’s well-documented history of racism and wrongful co-opting of the civil rights movement. Last year, Tea Party members analogized President Obama to a “monkey.” In March, Tea Party protesters hurled racist epithets at civil rights hero Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and spat at Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO). At a recent July 4 rally in Lexington, KY, Daily Kos documented Tea Party members selling shirts declaring “Yup, I’m a Racist!”
Look, even a child holding a racist sign! They teach them young don't they?!

Why does it come down to this-that the NAACP is going to pass a resolution saying the Teabaggers are racist.

Any gathering of these people - on websites you see things like the examples you posted.

Where have the dims been all this time. Hiding behind the obvious afraid to speak to blatant racism on the other side of the bigoted aisle.

If only they would have fought just a little bit it wouldn't be so bad out there but they allowed the momentum to build so now we'll all be targets of the right very soon.

OneFly doesn't it seem like the teabaggers aren't in the forefront like they were last summer. I think Graham had it right when he said these racist baggers(my words) are fading away. But you are right about the Dims, much too passive for my taste! We've been complaining for years and years....

There is a difference Sue if one doesn't have TV which I don't.

It seems to me they are more active but that's me. Palin seems very polished compared to a year ago. The freedom fest this year is bigger compared to last year when Bachman was the headliner. This year it's Rove himself and the repugs/baggers here are happier than a fly on shit.

I got people who strike up or bring up bagger shit a fair amount like in the grocery store places like that. Never before has it been like this.

I think the video by Max Bluementhal clearly shows we are in danger from these people.

This is what I see.

what we are in danger of is this admin and it's anti-job,Nation bankrutping policies and it's disastrous health care bill full of lies and deceit.

Another teabagger shows up and shows its galloping ignorance.

George W. Bush had the WORST job creation record since this country started keeping records on job creation. And since Mr. Obama took office 18 months ago, he has turned it around.

That's just for starters for the uninformed Anonymous.

Most of these types listen to Limbaugh or Beckerhead and go running to the liberal blogs to impress us with their ignorance.

I have to admit, I am impressed by Anonymous's startling ignorance.

"Man you guys believe anything this admin spoon feeds you."

"I guess won't be anything health care rationing....."

No, Anon.....but have you guys seen any further Kool-Aide rationing?

Oh that's right....you prefer tea.

BTW...hey Sue. Has Monty Python been here?

Lots of SPAM....SPAM....SPAM...SPAM....

To Anonymous who wrote this:

Here's the Wall Street Journal--no friend of Obama--confirming that Bush had the worst job creation record since records were kept.

Anonymous just reinforces the fact that conservatives do not deal in reality or facts. They make crap up to fit their skewed perceptions.

None of what they say or believe is based in reality.

LOL! I pity the poor idiots, in a way.

Anon, the thread here is racism within the teabagger ranks. Not only are you an ignorant asshole, you can't follow a train of thought. Nothing you posted is relevant to the thread.

sorry guys if you commented to deluded lisa and I deleted the comments by her. I can't help it, she makes no sense I have lost my patience.
Yes it is COMMON knowledge Bushs record on job creation. The right is jealous of our President Obama, plain and simple.

Onefly, I guess I do mean TV doesn't seem to talk about teabaggers like they did last year. You don't watch tv?? I would go insane without my TV! AND computer!

It matters not if the candidate is Ross Perot or George Wallace, Strom Thurmond, or Newt Gingrich, the supporters are no different, just a little older in each election. They can call it anything they want, but the tapes don't lie.

The Sleazebag Party is this years' version of male, pale, and for sale.

The Klanservative Klanbagger Kooks don't have anything like a coherent agenda at all; poll after poll show that the idiots AGREE with a lot of the President's initiatives.

The Klanbaggers are a racist organization, founded on racism, and there is no denying this, no matter how hard the MSM tries to paper it over.

As far as Caribou Barbie being articulate... I have yet to hear her speak a complete sentence off the cuff. She's "articulate" at memorized talking points delivered with no follow-up. Just like she always has been.

I'm sure there are some racists in the Tea Party. There are racists everywhere. Even *gasp* some Democrats. But to say they are all racists is wrong. Just like saying all liberals are idiots just because I know of a few who are. And, by the way, I'm an independant, so don't start calling me a teabagger or a racist now.

Anonymous said...

the democrats are the racists because they think the only way they can get the black vote is to keep them where they need them while pretending to come to their rescue.

The biggest problem I have with liberals, that in their trying to make everything fair for everyone, they take away the rights of many.

Our Declaration of Independence established the concept of inalienable rights, such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Yet “Fairness" or "Equality" trump liberty in some liberal's minds.

The feds don't want automobile manufacturers to fail? Go ahead and have government take over General Motors and step on the rights of corporations to succeed or fail on their own.

Pets are mistreated in San Francisco? Take away pet sales and step all over the pet industry operating in the city.

Don't like Arizona's attempt to control its own borders with Mexico? Sue the state for racial profiling instead of focusing on the real problem.

Don't like current marriage laws? Establish the irrelevancy of sex and gender within marriage and disenfranchise religious people.

Medical expenses are too high for some people? Establish a government-run system that punishes some in order to reward others.

Worried about global warming? Take away all incandescent light bulbs (that'll fix it!).

If you’re religious, they make fun of you.

If you happen to not approve of the president they call you a racist. So, you didn’t like Bush, does that make you against all white people? Or just Texans?
