looks like we're fucked...
For your viewing pleasure I bring you Hannity slobbering all over Dick, what a fuckin Dickhead, how dare he keep talking like he IS somebody important!
I'm pissed, I can't bring myself to talk about the latest news with HC reform, or what's left of the so-called reform. I'm not going to talk about it til the bill is complete because it changes day by day. So no use getting upset about dems pussy footing and caving to BigPharma and insurance companies. It's mindboggling what dems are doing to their base, it's fuckin shocking and I'm not gonna talk about it! We keep hearing the few progressives say they aren't giving up, they will fight til the end, well fight for what??? It's obvious Obama and the few obstructionist dems don't want a public option, It's obvious lobbyists are writing the bill with the approval of President Obama, so what can I say anyway?? I have signed all the petitions from my inbox, I have called my senators, I have emailed the White House, so fuck it, I'm not gonna talk about it!!
BTW, this is from Obama to ME!!
Susanne --
As we head into the final stretch on health reform, big insurance company lobbyists and their partisan allies hope that their relentless attacks and millions of dollars can intimidate us into accepting the status quo.
So I have a message for them, from all of us: Not this time. We have come too far. We will not turn back. We will not back down.
But do not doubt -- the opponents of reform will not rest. So I need you, the members of Organizing for America, to fight alongside me.
We must continue to build out our campaign -- to spread the facts on the air and on the ground, and to bring in more volunteers and train them to join the fight. I urgently need your help to keep Organizing for America's 50-state movement for reform going strong.

Sue, I do not know what to tell you. As much as i love this country, they are forcing me to make the move that i do not want to make. After the New Year i will be looking harder, and stronger to becoming an X Pat. I can not take it any longer. I see the hand writing on the wall. First the crazy lies in the Af/Pak speech, other problems that I have with the Dems, and then now this. None of it surprises me, but i guess when it all comes down, it goes down, and stays down.
RZ, I have a friend in Canada....
Ya, well Canada will want about 300k$ to get a business visa.Or if you have a trade that they are in dire need of they will welcome you. Not easy. I am making my plans now, my sister in law is here visiting from Korea.
Am I starting to look and sound crazy?? I was just skimming my posts and I see how I go back and forth every couple days defending Obama, not defending Obama. One week I love him, the next week I hate him. I kinda wish I was non-political and didn't pay a bit attention to any of this!
Sue; Dissent is what makes a true Patriot. Parroting the party line is robotic, not human.
Speaking of old posts. I put this up on Oct. 13 09.

You even made a comment on it. lol.
Update-----....---replace Feingold with Grayson. LOL. We could actually have 4 parties come 2012 the regular rethugs, the regular spineless Dems. a tea bagger candidate. and a no more war, socialized medicine candidate. LOL
Screw Cheney.
Okay guys, I can understand some of your frustrations. However there's no law that says we must agree with any president 100% of the time. Or, that a president must accomplish 100% of his goals 100% of the time. As far as I'm concerned this president has been up against a well organized and strident wall of opposition since the day he took office. The GOP has been determined to slam-dunk him every step of the way.
Yea, there are things I don't care for but that's the nature of the beast. I've seen several liberal blogs where the publishers support
the current HC measure.
Sue, remember your list of accomplishments and DemWit's.
Hmmmm, interesting. I do like the "livin' in a dream world" socialized medicine-no war candidate, and I really like Grayson.
Anthony Weiner was on Rachel, did you see him? He likes this medicare idea very much and seems to be excited about it. Of course it's always "a wait and see" thing! I'm not getting my hopes up just yet!
So, I'm a dissenter??
I know Leslie, thats why I said I'm back and forth.
Isn't it weird how rethugs hate Obamas policies but seems to me he panders to them so they should love him!
I'm not sure he's pandering to them, so "they'll like him." I think he's a pragmatist who believes in the art of compromise. Is the glass half empty or half full?
NO, I don't think that either Leslie. I'm just constantly disappointed by his center right decisions. When I voted for Obama I wanted a progressive president who listened to his base, a center left man. It's just let-down after let-down and I'm most of the time NOT HAPPY! Why so much compromise. I don't like it.
Sue: I know you don't like George Bush. But I voted for him. And while there are things he did that I did NOT agree with, I waffled with him, too. I was mad at him then happy; defended him then yelled about him. I guess my point it this: You won't be happy with the President you voted for ALL the time. I did NOT vote for Obama and I am NOT happy with him MOST of the time. HOWEVER, there are people behind the scenes that we don't even "know" about that he has to "please", every President does. Their hands are tied in a lot of areas, unfortunately. Don't beat yourself up. Especially over Health Care. I want reform, too. But I think it should move ahead slowly because it's the biggest bill we've ever had--or will have. It needs to be handled with the utmost care (pun pun!) We'll get our reform and with any luck at all it will be TRUE HEALTH CARE and not a bill that's passed to help big business, pharma and line politicians pockets.
Stay positive! :)
Sue, if you thought Pres. Obama was a true Progressive and not a pragmatist then you didn't really know him... sorry, but that is the truth. Anyone who thought that was mistaken. He was never a true "lefty" or anything but a pragmatist and has had to make some decisions that are farther left than he really was due to circumstances.
Look at his stance on Gay Marriage.. hardly a lefty there..
There are always going to be things the President does we may not agree with. No matter if it is a Dem or a Rep. That's just natural. If we agreed with them 100% of the time, why have elections just keep the same one all the time, so we would be happy forever.. Then we could have a Monarch or a Dictator.
The Health Care they are talking about now is a good one. If they can pass it and get the House to support it, which more and more of them are coming out in support of it all the time, it will be a good one, if the CBO scores it well... That's the hold up right now. The best part of it is that it holds the insurance companies to 90% of what is paid to them as medical costs and only 10% to them as profit. That's going to hurt them very much.. and if they don't accept it and they don't follow through with it.. a trigger kicks in, then we have the public option everyone seems to think is the be all end all..
That has been my argument all along.. there is nothing holding the insurance companies responsible.. This bill does.
Grayson, Weiner and several others in the House have now said they can support this, plus the Senate Dems and some Reps in the Senate.. may vote for it... Time will tell..
Think about it.. If it works.. and we get the Medicare for people 55 to 64.. That is single payer for them.. it is a step in the direction of single payer for all.. which is what most progressives and liberals have been crying for.
I bring you Hannity slobbering all over Dick
That evokes a mental image I could really have done without.
Annette: if you thought Pres. Obama was a true Progressive and not a pragmatist then you didn't really know him...
I and a lot of other Clinton supporters spent most of the 2008 primary season pointing this out. Unfortunately not enough people listened.
Pragmatism is a good thing, not a bad thing. A pragmatic leader who was a real progressive would be fine.
It's not true that the left is disappointed with Obama because he hasn't done enough of the things we wanted. Anyone can see that he's dealing with very tough problems against a deranged opposition party in a thoroughly toxic political atmosphere. We're disappointed because of all the things he has done that we didn't want, most of which boil down to kowtowing to bipartisanship.
Pamela so much happens in the day to day life of politics so I need to stay positive, you are right.
Annette to tell you the truth I did not take time to study Obamas politics because he was not my first choice. I voted for him without knowing that much and only because he wasn't McCain! Is that wrong? No, I had no other choice. I let my emotions get the best of me like I did last night. After listening to Weiner, Grayson and others I can see how this could lead to single-payer for all. I'm not jumping ship, just blowing off steam. When you read me going overboard criticizing Obama, don't take me serious! thanks Annette!
You are right Infidel, which I commented over at Leslies. I was a Hillary supporter too, but will stand by Obama, we have to no question about it!!

Rich.
The only true euphoria in politics is when your candidate is victorious on election day. After that it is a long series of disappointemnts with damn few instances that make everyone happy.
Change comes slowly.
It will take a long time for President Obama to convince the powers that be to openly support, at least not interfere, with his agenda. To go in openly fighting with them would mean 8 years of gridlock. Like it or not, there are more Dems that have to be to the center or even the right to keep their seats in Congress than R's that have to lean center. While we have a majority, don't let the numbers fool you. It is a weak majority.
I see by your blog list that, once again, I'm on top of Donna.
All is right with the world.
I think you purposely stay on top...and she purposely doesn't post so you can...Hmmmmm
