You tell me, is it the GOP acting like 2nd graders?? In a previous post I said watch Mitch McConnell, watch his next move, and here you have it. This says it all about the GOP and their agenda.....Make sure Barack Obama is a one term president. They are not shy about it either are they?! Those who support this Republican party and their antics deserve what happens next in this once great country...

Despite our strong belief that the government does not and should not operate like a business, many on the so-called "Left" seem to be suffering from the delusion that the President is a unitary executive, and can do whatever he pleases. If he really wants to do something, he can do it, the argument goes, thereby attributing anything that does not get done to the President's unwillingness to do it, rather than legislative reality or any other extraneous factor. It allows people to flat out ignore the fact that the President is but the head of one branch of government, restrained by the other branches, as well as the Constitutional limits on his power. But the same people are also always the first to scream that any use of legitimate executive power is itself abusive!
You have heard it all before. A, B, C didn't get done because President Obama didn't really want to do it. Or he didn't fight for it. He didn't pound podium enough. He didn't twist enough arms. He didn't do this. He didn't do that. If only he had gone to Maine and verbally beat the Maine Republican senators over the head, we would have the public option in health reform. If only he had issued an executive order rather than go through the legislative process, DADT would be history on Day 2 of his presidency. And I suppose he was supposed to bullypulpit and podium-pound into submission all 90 senators and the overwhelming majority of the House who voted to block the closure of Guantanamo.


President Obama was elected to govern the Whole country, not just the selfish Me Me Me Lefties,  AS were the House members who we so freely criticize.  Those Tea Party Freshmen MUST get real, they are not the ONLY group in Congress allowed to legislate! The bowing down to the righties has officially ENDED, the tea party is over and the people want you to go home....God I can't wait for the next election...cut cap and balance can go straight to hell with the supporters of this hideous partisan bill....

There will be NO VOTE on Boehners debt limit bill tonight, and who is to blame? Well the Tea Party Freshmen of course! The Republican party embraced the teabaggers back when Barack Obama was elected and the baggers became a force to be reckoned with. But tonight, what's going on in the heads of the more sane, more moderate, old school Republicans?  I can just imagine! Those teabaggers came into the Halls of Congress, off the street like a Joe the Plummer, no qualifications, no experience, no idea what it takes to sit in a Congressional seat...what a pity the GOP was so terrified of our intelligent president that they had to embrace a bunch of morons thinking it would save their dying party, but all it's doing is killing them faster.....

John Boehner thinks he can get the votes, tomorrow. I have absolutely no confidence Tan Man. Those teabaggers are a stubborn group, they don't really care about you or the Republican Party. They don't  fully understand what the debt ceiling vote means. I see a severe case of buyers remorse, what a pity...The Republican Party is imploding.....

Tonight I am thankful for the Democrats in the Senate, they will save us......I'm also thankful for my President and I believe he will save us.....What about the Republicans, Mitch McConnell, old school McConnell, will he help steer the boat? Maybe, weirder things have happened in the crazy world of Washington, DC....

Will Obama Invoke the 14th Amendment??

We are on the brink of a doomsday scenerio, thanks to the hideous America destroying House Republicans.

I'm almost speechless over this debt hike fight, as I'm sure President Obama is ....Apparently Republicans do not read polls, they can't be reading anything but the Fox polls, if they did they would not be staying the course for an inevitable default within the next week....Who is supporting this action by those teabagger Republican Reps? Stupid, crazy people??

I was reading yesterday some GOP'ers say the party will start impeachment procedures if Obama sends the country into default..WTF???  That's been their plan for the past 3 yrs...they can't get Obama for anything unethical, he is clean as a whistle, they can't get him for citizenship issues, tried that, lost that... they have nothing on this president so the debt hike fiasco is their only hope to impeach a wildly popular president. Shows how crazy those M F'ers are doesn't it? How else do you explain the president and the Democrats giving into every demand from those sick bastards YET they still say NO DEAL?? How do you explain this to the American people?

  Now, if President Obama has one chance to raise the debt ceiling without support from the Rethuglicans it is with the 14th amendment.  At todays pc the Democrats said that if all other measures fail, the POTUS should issue an executive order invoking the 14th amendment to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling.

 Think Progress: House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rep. John Larson (CT) and Assistant Minority Leader Jim Clyburn (SC) explained that their colleagues believe that if Republicans are intent on “destroying government,” then there should be a “fail-safe mechanism” to ensure that the debt ceiling is hiked and that this mechanism is the 14th amendment:

LARSON: If a small group is really that intent on destroying government, and is intent on saying they don’t believe there are any ramifications for their irresponsibility then we have to have a fail-safe mechanism, we believe that fail safe mechanism is the 14th amendment and the president of the United States.
CLYBURN: So I would say to the president, if that’s what lands on his desk, a short-term listing of the debt ceiling — he should put it on his desk next to an executive order he will have drawn up. And with the same pen that he vetoes that short term debt ceiling extension, he should sign an executive order invoking the 14th Amendment to this issue. I am convinced that whatever discussions about the legality of this issue can continue.  

President Obama and Democrats are on the winning side of this fiasco, the polls prove that. Nobody of sane mind and body wants to see this country default. I hope when this is all over and Obama saves the country from the brink of disaster, the country shows it's gratitude by voting in 2012 for Barack Obama  AND just as important, puts democrats back in the majority in the House of Representatives.  When a person is elected to serve the people of this country and they choose to put corporations before middle America, they do not deserve leadership roles in our government..  This morning Sam Stein and Joe Scarborough said  what was lost in this debt fight was the American people and how they would suffer if we default. You are half right guys, the Democrats DO talk about the people but the Republicans NEVER have.  Believe it blind sheeple, the Republican Party does NOT care about you, not one bit!  Just listen to what they say, listen closely!

Are we living in the Twilight Zone??

My brother likes to talk about Bible prophesies, he says the US will destroy itself from within, I think he said God warned us of this impending doom... So Bud are you referring to the evil Republican/Tea Party members who call President Obama and Tim Geithner, along with countless experts here and around the globe, LIARS when it comes to raising the debt ceiling so America does not default on her debts, Most of which are Republican Party debts?? These teabagger types are not worried in the least about impending doom, could it be because they welcome the doom?? Well 99% of America is not happy about your sit and wait attitude!. We want action and action we will get!


White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer told CBS Radio News, "We are seven days away from an unprecedented financial event in this country's history, one that could potentially put us towards a depression because the House Republicans led by Speaker Boehner are unwilling to compromise one inch."  Depression or Armageddon?


The Boehner Plan includes a short term plan to reduce spending by ONLY 1.2 bil while extending the debt ceiling ONLY approximately 6 months. No wonder some House members are balking...

President Obama is supporting the Reid Plan which cuts spending by 2.7 tril over a decade with no new revenue, BUT does not touch Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. This is what compromise is.  How much more does the Democratic Party have to give in compromises before the party of NO NO NO gives up and gives the American people what they are demanding?? Reid's plan cuts spending at the same level as the rise in the debt ceiling, so you tell me, what the hell is the House of Reps. doing??  My conclusion to this whole fiasco is, the Republicans do not know how our government or our economy works. When they let this group who calls themselves the Tea Party come in and take over the GOP lock, stock and barrel, you know it's because the Grand 'Ole Party was fresh out of ideas and thought what the hell, how bad could a group of patriots be, we'll give them a voice. Who's sorry now? I know the voters are...

President Obama does not want a depression, the American people certainly do not want a depression, the whole world is waiting and watching that little group of teabaggers  (how pathetic is that) to see what their next move is.  Geithner and the president, along with a small team of aides, have been working on contingency plans should Congress fail to raise the borrowing limit by August 2nd. Isn't that mind boggling, this minority in Congress is holding the government and the country hostage and they haven't a care in the world!  Grow some balls John Boehner, get a fuckin grip on your damn party of teabaggers!  What kind of Democracy gives a minority control to destroy the country and not a single thing can be done about it??

 A Republican member of the House of Representatives declared today that President Barack Obama could be impeached if the U.S. defaults on its debts.
The comment is from Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who told his followers on Twitter that they should "stop talking about" a potential U.S. default.
"The 1st dime of each $1 of revenue services debt," he wrote. "Obama would be impeached if he blocked debt payments."

I want to hear my president tell the people of this country that he WILL NOT let Armageddon happen next week.  August 2nd, my sons birthday, the debt ceiling must be raised.  the GOP has a short term plan but President Obama has said over and over he will veto a short term plan.  Why is Obama opposed to a short-term plan? Market stability for one. Then there is this.

So, what kind of game is the GOP playing?  The biggest game plan is this debt ceiling vote intertwined with deficit reduction, spending cuts, entitlement dismantling, or NO vote to raise the debt ceiling! NO to new revenues, NO to ending tax breaks, NO to tax hikes of any kind, NO, NO, NO... At NO time do the GOPers say they will compromise to save our country and her people. They NEVER talk about the American people, never...




As of tonight there is no deal, CNN says the two sides want an agreement before Sunday, well Sunday is coming fast....I'm getting nervous

It's Not Too Late to Compromise

Oh, Republican leadership. I don't know who does your polling or who you go to for advice, but right now you're on the wrong side of the tide. You stood up for the uber-rich, only to find out that "job creators" maybe aren't as popular as they once were (you know, when some were actually creating jobs).

Truth be told, the country isn't falling down in praise with how the President has been handling the debt ceiling situation, with about as many disapproving as approving. But too bad for you, that's where the so-so news ends.

66% of Americans think a budget/debt ceiling deal should include tax increases. That should be enough to bring you to the table. Assuming you've lost all your ability for rational thought, here's another one for you: 55% of Republicans would like to see tax revenues as part of the final package, as well as 53% of Tea Partiers. Tea Partiers!

Ain't that a bite?? Sane Republicans for Obama! This guy is serious!! Here's what else he says to his party..I sure hope they are reading!!

The worst part about how you've handled all this is that now you'll probably get a lot less than you could have. President Obama offered $3 in cuts for every $1 in revenue increases. (When Reagan negotiated a similar deal with congressional Democrats, the ratio was reversed.) The President even offered to stand up to the liberals in his own party and raise the Social Security retirement age to 67. You were too busy getting yelled at by Grover Norquist that you passed up a win-win deal. Once Obama showed that he was more serious than you were about tackling the deficit, your primary concern became not letting him outflank you.

Right now, all signs point towards Obama winning the political battle. With 85% of voters wanting you to compromise on a deal here, your priority should be in cutting your losses, and stopping the bleeding before more people wake up to how immature you're behaving.

I'm gonna read this blog and I'm also gonna put it on my bloglist because I do get conservative visitors from time to time. Maybe some will change their mind and come to support our president, he deserves it!

But for a male Congressman to denigrate a fellow female Congresswoman, with no sense of shame, no embarrassment, no apologies, it's pretty obvious, some are simply arrogant, slimy, dirtballs...Look at the video, did Debbie say anything that wasn't true? No, she was speaking the truth to her fellow Floridians, the truth which Allen West can't handle. Those Republican Congressmen don't want the truth spoken, it'll hurt them for gods sake! So what does West do? Lash out with hateful, accusatory words to change the conversation..I guess West thinks all those seniors who will be hurt if the GOP gets their way with these damaging bills, won't comprehend the details.  Debbie is just trying to help them out :-D

Those tax cuts were WRONG then and they are WRONG now. But what are the Republicans doing? Seeking even more cuts to the wealthy while fighting for permanent tax cuts that are killing us, ALL of us..well except for the top 2%....

 How in the hell did we get in a position in this great land of millions where one man, a man who has not held elected office in our government, can dictate, almost demand, the GOP will not EVER vote to raise taxes if they sign his fuckin pledge!?  This must be the idiot who mastermind the tea party! Grover Norquist is his name and here's the pledge....
"I _____ pledge to the taxpayers of the state of _____ and all the people of this state, that I will oppose and vote against all efforts to increase taxes," this is the version of the pledge signed by Republican lawmakers, hundreds of them.

Grover Norquist, an ACTIVIST, is brought into Republican circles to give his okay on actual budget issues, and if the Grover says NO deal the GOPers listen! AMAZING!

Bill Clinton agrees with me, he said Norquist has such a powerful hold on the Republican party, they rarely make a move without his input.  When speaking about the GOOPER party getting PERMISSION from Norquist to vote yes to end ethanol subsidies Clinton said 'My God, what has this country come to when one person has to give you permission to do what's best for the country.'

 This one man,  Grover Norquist,  Activist NOT ELECTED LEADER, meets with Republicans every Wednesday to PLAN strategies.....I don't know about you but I find that disturbing because this one man claims to make or break politicians careers. He has a poster in his office showing the politicians who broke their PLEDGE and are now jobless. He worked hard to have those people defeated in their districts, bringing in more and more teabaggers! Oh great, just what the country longs for, more fuckin' teabaggers....

This one man has taken hold of the Republican party with this idiotic PLEDGE, actually since 1985,  but now with the infiltration of the teabaggers it is more obvious then it was back then. He claims the American people hold the politicians to the PLEDGE promise, but that is bullshit. This man threatens politicians careers if they don't OBEY him and his PLEDGE!  Poll after poll after poll shows the American people think it is in the country's best interest to raise taxes on the wealthy, the American people believe in shared sacrifice. This makes the teabaggers puke....

That idiot Norquist and his demands to the GOP to stand firm on the NO NEW TAXES even if the country defaults, is ludicrous!! He says the revenue problem is because of the unemployment problem, WELL DUH FUCKIN' DUH, the states are laying off in droves because they ARE NOT ALLOWED to raise taxes, so therefore the states are "BROKE" and claim they must lay off workers which add to the unemployment numbers which adds to the decrease in revenue....am I right people??

STAND STRONG President Obama, that dictator thinks he can control the conversation in Washington!! I've heard enough from that idiot Norquist and his fuckin' teabaggin' party of Stepford wives...

Democrats, by far, out number Republicans when it comes to brilliance!

We have so many great Democratic governors, we need to start talking more about them.  Before you know it 2016 will be here and one of these governors could very well be our next president. One such governor is from the great state of Maryland, Gov. Martin O'Malley,  he is speaking up and speaking out loud and a chorus of Democratic governors should be following his lead.....O'Malley says the GOP debt negotiators in Washington are trying to undermine the economy so President Obama will lose his re-election bid next yr.

"I think that there is an extreme wing within their party who have as their primary goal not the jobs recovery, but the defeat of President Obama in 2012," O'Malley said in an interview. "They know that their formulations, their policies of less revenues and less regulation badly failed our country and plunged us into this recession. So their only way of evening the playing field is to keep the president from being successful in the jobs recovery."

O'Malley is absolutely correct,  I'm so glad he is speaking out! What we are seeing in the states with the newly elected GOP governors laying off thousands of state workers because they claim their states are "broke", is why we keep seeing high unemployment numbers. When the GOP led House takes jobs bills after jobs bills and throws them in the shredder, then turns around and says they are doing everything they can to help the economy grow, well that's enough to make a grown woman laugh out loud!  Bwahahahahaha!!  They keep going back to the tired old "out of control spending spree in Washington" line. I guess it's ok if the out of control spending is done under GOP rule though...such hypocrites. We all know the game, we have the charts to prove it, spending sprees and deficits rising happened most under Republican presidents... The Lefties are NOT dumb sheeple like the Righties, we can read charts and graphs, we know how to dig for facts.....

O'Malley says key Republican members of Congress, through their intransigence, have cleverly set up a situation for the American economy to fail, either by needlessly driving us to default, or like I just said, needlessly driving us into massive public sector layoffs. It is so true it's scary.  Their game is to stall the economic recovery because they think it will mean the black dude is a one termer...how idiotic is that?! Do we trust a Republican to come back in and fix their own disastrous mess? I know I don't. They know how to get us into these messes but they haven't a clue how to get us out....it's time for the party of intelligence, wisdom and grace to move full steam ahead, we just gotta kick to the curb those do-nothing obstructionists!  Now some will say but Obama has been president for almost 3 years, the mess is his. Well not true. We are still in the clean-up process from the last administration. You see, 8 yrs of out of control spending sprees can't be cleaned up in 2 yrs when you have the other party not willing to give a little help in the process....

When you are having those doubts, when you are feeling not so in love with President Obama and the choices he makes...Please remember this, THE PRESIDENT HAS LIMITED ABILITY TO CONTROL THE ECONOMY,  ESPECIALLY WITH REPUBLICANS RUNNING THE HOUSE!

There is no doubt about it, the GOP is out for blood. They hate President Obama and want desperately to defeat him.....It's our job as ObamaCrats to protect and defend our president. We do that with our voices,  and at the voting booth......

OH PAAALEEEESE, I can't take anymore whining and complaining from Lefties!

One of my new FB friends recommended I read President Obama's books, Audacity of Hope, Dreams of my Father, and also the book about his Mother, A Singular Woman. He said this after I left a comment saying how I believed the presidents second term will be so much better than his first. My friend agreed and said Obama is a true leader but unfortunately WE failed him in 2010 and are suffering the results WE are responsible for. That is so true, and for all the Obama supporters who have jumped off the band wagon because they haven't gotten 100% of their demands met, I feel sorry for you.

What oh what will you be saying in 2013 if we have one of those incompetent Republicans sitting in the White House? Is the mess we are in today because of the president and his policies, or is it because the president can't move through Congress his agenda we were so hopeful for? The latter, correct? So if we don't get off our fat, lazy asses and vote out those good for nothing GOPers that are up for re-election, and if we don't fight with everything we have to re-elect Barack Obama in 2012, what then will we have to complain about? Surely we won't be crying because the eligibility age for SS might be raised, or that there is no public option, or there could be cuts to Medicare.... these will seem so trivial to what will happen if a GOPer is elected to the presidency! Can you even imagine a Republican Senate majority and a Republican president?? SS, privatized, Medicare=vouchers, NO healthcare for millions... we'll have nobody to blame but ourselves....

Right now, at this time in our country's history, we have a wise man looking over us, he has given up everything in his life to be President of these United States. He loves us and our country that much! He especially loves our young people, for they are our future.... Do you want to go back to Republican rule??(((shudder)))) Think about it the next time you want to whine and complain about something so trivial...

Calm, Cool, and Collected

Obama has a long fuse and people mistake that for lack of spine, but we have seen this week that he is not only "cool under pressure" he is cold as steel with a spine to match. He has given rethugs enough rope to hang themselves. He is willing to risk his presidency on the principle of being president of the American people as opposed to the GOP who forgot they were NOT elected by only corporations and the multi-millionaires. Tonight the GOP all voted AGAINST a non-binding agreement that millionaires should contribute more in shared sacrifice. Obama tried to deal with the GOP - to Compose our exasperation, and his frustration - He couldn't seem to believe they could be so reckless and un-American to trash the nation for political gain -- but they showed themselves time and again -- so now everyone can plainly see that Obama is the smart one, the cool one, the right one, and the GOP is in trouble.

for the first time in history a Democratic President put Social Security and Medicare on the table in negotiating with the GOP.....AND  what do those GOPers do?? They say NO DEAL.  WTF??


Here's what we know so far... President Obama is in negotiations with the party of NO and the party of "what more can we give up to please the party of NO?" (BP rising)

President Obama and leaders on my side have offered up 4 trillion in spending cuts, INCLUDING changes to SS and Medicare in exchange for ending tax breaks and subsidies to the very wealthiest and the very largest and most profitable corporations....BUT the Party of NO believes that means raising taxes so they have not agreed, not just yet.

This is where I will stop because the Democrats will be in ongoing negotiations with the "party who wants to destroy President Obamas chances for re-election"...stay tuned for more updates...

Did you listen to Pres. Obama's press conference at 11 this morning??  I went away feeling SO positive and encouraged by his words. He will not disappoint us by giving in to the party of NO. Those Republicans want our president to agree to a short term fix but Obama is not falling for their games playing. Either they will agree to the lifted tax breaks and an end to subsidies or there is NO DEAL. STAND STRONG President Obama, you are doing great!!! (today's meeting has begun)

The Great Recession officially ended two years ago this month. During previous recoveries, state and local governments were engines of growth by this point: In the two years after the 1990-91 recession ended, for example, they had added 430,000 jobs. They had added 249,000 two years after the 2001 recession ended.  This time is different. More than 467,000 state and local government jobs, including 188,000 in schools, have vanished since the recession officially ended in June 2009.

All those newly elected Teabagger governors are laying off in DROVES, state workers. WHY??? Could it be their plan to make Pres. Obama a one term president? They will say it's all about the budget, but what happened in those states in the past year that caused them to suddenly go broke?? Makes NO sense to me, how about you? Some towns are laying off whole police forces, some towns are laying off hundreds of firefighters, teachers, police, libraries are closing, parks are closing, factories are closing, people are leaving these dead towns which means no revenue coming in from property taxes...who does this hurt then?? It affects hard working middle class and the working poor making up for the losses by THEIR property taxes soaring, while their wages are stagnant....What the fuck is the answer?? To bring in another loser GOP president?? Bring it on Americans!!

Is Corporate America AND the Republican party doing everything in their power to keep the unemployment number high?? And what will they do after President Obama is re-elected, continue with their path to destroying America as we know it? Do they really want American exceptional-ism?? I don't think it looks that way at all! The Right wing has fought every jobs bill, they cry about stimulus spending that would put hundreds of thousands to work rebuilding our crumbling nation.  They have an excuse for everything the Democrats want to do to grow the economy. The debt ceiling fight is a ploy, this kind of fight didn't happen under Dubya. It's a game the GOP is playing with the economic security of our nation. Does the Republican party hate President Obama so much they are willing to cause an implosion in our country?  Do the Righties REALLY want Michele Bachmann as POTUS???  Sure seems like it. There is NOTHING President Obama has done to make the Right despise him, he gives them all their hopes and dreams on a silver platter. Their criticisms stem from racism, IT IS SO OBVIOUS!!  Don't like the playing of the race card? Sorry, there really is no other explanation..

They really do want to punish the poor...

 What is the problem in Utah?? Those rich Mormons in their mansions, the ones who worship in those gold-plated temples, I believe they hate poor people! They stick their haughty taughty noses up at those less fortunate!

I used to like Orrin Hatch, I thought he was a distinguished member of Congress, but lately he's been saying the most outrageous things, he almost sounds senile! While referring to Democrats he said, "I hear how they are so caring for the poor and so forth, the poor need jobs and they also need to share some of the responsibility."  Wow, that's something isn't it?! Do you think Mr. Hatch personally knows someone who makes, oh say 15 to $20,000 dollars, no not hourly, not daily, not even weekly or monthly, how about yearly? Do you think he has a clue what it feels like to live paycheck to paycheck? I'm not talking about welfare recipients, I'm talking about the working poor, yes Mr. Hatch there really are people who live on $20,000 a year and must house and feed their families.  When you rich bastards say the poor should buck up and contribute to your deficit reduction ideas, even when you continue to fight to keep tax breaks for the uber rich, you really sound quite ridiculous!

Mr. Hatch is outraged that a family of 4 living on $80,000 a year receives subsidies for their healthcare needs. He can not fathom why this family is categorized as deserving of subsidies, he accuses these poor "rich" people as the reason we are running out of monies!

YET!...his party refuses to budge on the tax subsidies for oil companies, claiming the wise policy leads to shared prosperity!! LOL

 I just don't get them, and never will.

Tax revenues are at a 60 year low,  President Obama is agreeing to trillions in spending cuts, but Republicans and Sen. Hatch are still clinging to the old argument..."you can not raise taxes in this fragile economy"...What they are really saying is it's ok to raise taxes on the poor and middle class cuz they have been so spoiled lately, but do not touch our friends the rich cuz they are the job creators....OKAY then.....

This president has saved my friend’s son’s life by bringing him home from Iraq after three re-ups under Jr. This president’s stimulus package saved our small business so we could rehire the employees we had to fire after Jr.’s recession almost shut us down. This president’s healthcare reform has provided health insurance for our employees through their parents’ policies because they’re under 26 years of age and that’s just my personal story. Millions of Americans have jobs thanks to this president saving the American auto industry. Oh, and thanks for killing the bastard who gave Jr. all he needed to hand our economy over to his ultra-wealthy pals.

He is starting the conversation, President Obama is saying the words "tax increase" when he speaks about a deficit reduction package. This is what a huge majority of Americans want to hear from our  POTUS.   Pres. Obama is insisting on 400 billion in tax increases, it's a starting point and we all know this is the way to move forward,  but those pesky know it all Republicans, they won't have any of it!  "Raising taxes in a bad economy will only make matters worse" Blah Blah FuckinBlah...We know the truth, tax increases actually help spur economic growth, so why do they keep fighting the inevitable??

Finally Pres. Obama says something we can cheer about.."If we choose to keep those tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, if we choose to keep a tax break for corporate jet owners, if we choose to keep tax breaks for oil and natural gas companies that are making hundreds of billions of dollars, then that means we've got to cut some kids off from getting a college scholarship, that means we've got to stop funding certain grants for medical research, that means that food safety may be compromised, that means that Medicare has to bear a greater part of the burden."

Amazingly we keep hearing  the Republican leaders say the president is not engaged, he is not serious about the debt crisis, but it's the Republicans who are walking out on talks, it is Republicans who THREATEN the president and Democrats if they do not get their way! (ok, blood boiling..) The GOPers are insisting there is NO support among Republicans to impose the kind of tax increases the president is proposing..."The president is sorely mistaken if he believes a bill to raise taxes would pass the House" says The Tan Man...Games, games, fuckingamesplaying...

The GOP is showing their true colors, and the country is not amused. The Republicans could care less about college bound kids, clean, safe food, Medicare patients, they surely don't care about cancer research and burdens on middle class families! Do you ever hear the words Middle Class come out of the mouths of those GOPers??

eliminating 41 billion in tax breaks for oil and natural gas companies
raising taxes on investment fund managers
phasing out itemized deductions for people making more than 500,000
phasing out LIFO

Does this list look radical to you??  To Grover Norquist and his organization Americans for Tax Reform, it is radical and goes against everything they stand for, NO NEW TAXES.  The Taxpayer Protection Pledge created 25 yrs. ago has taken our nation hostage. Our current leaders in Congress have signed this pledge to the detriment of our people! When in the history of our nation has there been no tax when we are at war?  Dubya signed the fuckinpledge and took our nation to war, TWICE, TWO WARS and NO new taxes to pay for those wars...
Republiscums in Washington today are willing to default on our country's obligations in order to abide by this pledge, a pledge made up by a mere mortal! What the fuck is wrong with them? These same people call President Obama an evil-doer working overtime to destroy our America, but it is NOT Pres. Obama who follows blindly a single man with a pledge, a pledge that has no place in our Congress, this pledge taking precedence with our elected leaders, one single pledge signed by our Congressmen putting our entire nation at risk...
