Some might say I get pleasure from bashing the Mormon cult religion, well, okay yea I do! I like pointing out the ridiculous magic underwear, the story of Joseph Smith, and the sacred Temples which seem almost evil....to me...
But now we have a story that gives me no reason to make fun, in a fun way..... it's just that really sick part of organized cult religions, the kind that makes sick, perverted, evil men do vile, horrid things to children while hiding behind their God, which makes it fine in their eyes, and the eyes of their duped and deranged followers....
It gives me great pleasure to say this fucking sicko Mormon is in jail, found guilty of raping children, in the name of God...it makes me ill just to type the perverts name, Warren Jeffs...may you rot in HELL

Jeffs allegedly raping his 12-year-old "spiritual bride" while uttering
her name was played for a Utah jury yesterday before prosecutors rested
their bigamy and sex assault case against the cult leader. As the tape
ends, Jeffs proclaims: "In the name of Jesus Christ." At least one juror
was seen wiping her eyes, and several covered their mouths in apparent
shock as the tape was played, reports the Daily Mail.
Documents presented in evidence to the jury showed that after the sex,
Jeffs wrote that the girl "experienced the heavenly session; she felt
the all consuming fire of heaven," reports Reuters.
The tape
followed two earlier ones in which Jeffs, 55, advises his young "sister
wives" that they must work together to please him sexually.
After the tape was played, the polygamy cult leader entered the entire
Book of Mormon into evidence. Jeffs is claiming he has a religious right
to multiple, underage wives, which will bring him "exultation" in
heaven. The tapes, preserved by Jeffs as "priestly records," were seized
in a 2008 raid on the Yearning for Zion polygamist compound in Texas,
according to prosecutors. He faces up to 119 years in prison if
convicted of the numerous charges against him.
The Book of Mormon gives this monster the RIGHT to rape children?
Good God Mormons, do you ALL believe this, or is it just the perverted

Thankfully we get to see the results of a jury making the right
decision, putting a monster behind bars so children can be children. But
can they? No, not when their parents allow filthy men to touch them, marry them, violate them.....can you imagine giving your young daughter to a filthy pig like Jeffs? I hope there are more arrests to come from these cults...

The Bible and the Koran justify just as much unjustifiable stuff as the Book of Mormon (and are just as bitching silly in parts), Sue. And I also believe that this Jeffs degenerate is more a part of some unrecognized offshoot of Mormonism, kind of like al Qeada is to Islam. I mean, don't get me wrong here. Mormonism isn't any more my cup of tea than rot-gut is. But to single it out like this, I don't know. To each his own, I guess.

Amazingly enough, Will and I see eye-to-eye this time. The FLDS isn't the problem here; it's fundamentalism in general. You will find a measurable number of sociopaths, pedophiles, and assorted other defectives in fundie organizations. I am guessing that it is somnething about the massive amount of authority in fundie hierarchies that draws the sickos to them.

You're probably thinking of the Catholic Church, whose priests have been molesting children all over the world for decades (probably centuries) while the Church hierarchy systematically protected them and hid their crimes from civil authorities.
Or Islam, whose prophet Muhammad married one of his wives when she was 6 and consummated the marriage at 9, and is still held up as a model and moral exemplar by the entire religion.
The mainstream Mormon church, by contrast, vigorously condemns the polygamist splinter groups.
They're all evil, but there are differences of degree.

Or no better than an infidel:-) -- no need to stop. The evils of one religion should never be used as a reason to keep silent about the evils of another. They all need exposure. I was merely pointing out that Mormonism is far from unique in the pedophilia department -- and that what differentiates a "cult" from a religion is mostly a matter of how big and/or familiar it is.

Pointing this out doesn't make you the same as a Klanbagger. The "F" in FLDS stands for "Fundamentalist." But the FLDS is no worse than the Assemblies of God, or the Salafis, or the Taliban, or most Evangelicals.

Joesph Smith married various wives, even women married to other men.
He and his closest advisors were killed in Illinois Jail in 1844 by other factions of the church at the time, and even his brother was poisoned so Brigham Young could become thew prophet. That poisoning has been blamed on people loyal to Young.
Young is the person who lead them from the mid west to Utah, and established the multiple wives as religious doctrine (like Smith did) until they had to politically revoke it for statehood.
Nice to see how their religious views can be changed so easily for political reasons, (like, most fundis).
