Damn it people, grow the hell up!!!

Anonymous There's some fighting going on, a conservative blogger is being bashed and trashed by her own friends because she posted on a liberal blog. She has liberal friends and has liberal blogs listed on her sidebar. SO???? Whats the problem, we're all adults here, we can't pick and choose our friends?? We have to get permission from the possee when we want to talk to someone from the other party?? This my friends is the mentality of the self-righteous hatefilled conservative bunch of idiots in blogland! Conservatives like this blogger who posted this trash on the aforementioned blog.....

Over the years I've been writing this blog, I've been throwing out little self-evident truths that seem to have no exceptions that prove the rule. I've made a list of some of them and will add to it as I remember them or make up more. Most of this list I've come up with myself. A few I've borrowed from others.

1. Always expect the worst from a liberal and you will never be surprised.

2. Never try to reason with a liberal. They disregard any evidence that conflicts with their beliefs.

3. You can always tell what liberals are up to by what they accuse conservatives of doing.

4. Liberals don't debate, they argue.

5. The only standards liberals have are double standards.

6. Liberals feel, conservatives think.

7. Whenever you don't understand a liberal's motives, just look for the money.

8. Liberals cannot be embarrassed. They lack the gene to blush.

9. The Liberal creed is, "Do as I say, not as I do."

10. Liberals get older, but they never get smarter.

11. There are no honest liberals. If they were honest -- especially to themselves -- they would be conservatives.

12. A liberal's business is nobody's business, but everyone's business is a liberal's business.

13. Liberals have an inflated sense of self-worth. They are like house flies that criticize the air-worthiness of a Stealth fighter. (Sarah Palin, George W. Bush, ad infinitum are morons.)

14. Liberals lack a sixth sense that is standard equipment in conservatives -- common sense.

15. Liberals never stop hating.

16. There are only two types of liberals -- the deceivers and the deceived.

17. Every time liberals get on their high horse, they get bucked off.

18. Liberal programs are so wonderful that they have to be forced on people.

19. Liberals always choke on their own medicine.

20. When given a moral choice, liberals always come down on the wrong side of the fence.

21. The only way liberals can build themselves up is by tearing others down.

22. Liberals not only refuse to admit their mistakes, they refuse to learn from them.

23. Liberals can dish it out, but they can't take it.

24. Liberals are incapable of attacking the message, so they always attack the messenger.

25. Liberal diversity is only skin deep.

Every single thing this stupid conservative wrote here is hypocritical bullshit and I could erase the word liberal and replace it with conservative and hence you will have the real truth!!

Damn, what the hell is going on here, can't we all respect each other and have civil discourse??? This is why I do not comment on conservative blogs, they are a waste of my time and energy!!

maybe they look in the mirror and see Rush's ugly mug looking back at them ? that'd be enough to warp anybody's brain.

I think our friend has more than one "malcontent." I'm not even going to waste my time and energy getting into that kind of free-for-all, conservative or liberal.

That person is engaged in standard demonization of the opposition (with some psychological projection mixed in). It's a method for avoiding challenges to one's belief system. if the opposition is purely malevolent and stupid, it need not be addressed.

Not all conservatives do that -- and it's important to avoid doing it ourselves.

The reactionary righty is motivated by self pleasure and instant gratification Sue.

They don't want to hear about tax policies that create too large an income gap between the classes. They just want a simple, "cut taxes."

They don't want a long, well reasoned and researched plan to fight terrorism. They just want to throw em in Gitmo and torture them.

There is no thought process other a primal urge to be angry at everything.

You do notice the right leaning folks of reason and intelligence make it a point to call themselves independents or Libertarians now. They run from the word "republican" like the plague.

I don't blame them.

This is what their choir believes. There is no changing anyone's mind on either side.

Some people enjoy starting fights and being mean. Some people like watching a train wreck, or a car accident.
Some people think the goal of a blog, is to generate as many comments as possible.
In fact, if you use and get paid for ads, the more hits, the more you make.
Since there are ways to curb trolls and vitriolic comments, why do people not use them and let these trolls die off?
Of course, it's easy enough in this atmosphere, to make a reasonable statement and watch the sparks fly. Some people enjoy watching the sparks fly.

Grung_e_Gene said...

I like your sidebar Sue! Oh and Conservatives and Republicans have no compunction of lying to achieve their goal of control of Government...

Annette said...

What they said....lol I can't really add much more to the discussion.. There are some reasonable conservatives.. Sully for one.. you are talking about some of the rabid right.. I call them. part of the fringe..and they will do everything in their power to put down someone who is their opposite.

That's what they think is part of the game.. putting down and destroying the opposition..not complementing them.. as it is supposed to be.

Leslie Parsley said...

I don't give two hoots in hell whether or not these people agree with me. But I do have a problem with the way things may be expressed - the anger, the hostility, the loooong rants - I move on.

The bottom line? Tom's got it:
"Since there are ways to curb trolls and vitriolic comments, why do people not use them and let these trolls die off?"

Exactly. Plus, quite frankly, I don't want all that vitriol.

Civil discourse???

You post on that SHITHEAD Truth101"s Filthy blog where he insults republican DAILY and uses that vile foul mouth of his to discredit us republicans and YOU have the nerve to talk about Civil discourse

Sue: Hi. I'm tired. I don't know if I can take much more of the bashing. It's quite disheartening when one is bashed by one's OWN party. I am very sad.

But I want to thank you for your post because it shows me once again that there is kindness in the world.

Leslie Parsley said...

I would delete trash like My Opinion so fast it would slash off his nasty tongue. Why leave it on? That makes no sense.

Who takes precedence here? Mostly civil participants or muck like this? Mostly people who back up their thoughts or people who spew venom? People who disagree respectfully and intelligently or people who personally abuse others?
This has nothing to do with party beliefs.

To me it is a no-brainer.

What one says on their own blog and how they say it is nobody's business. If they go to someone else's blog and uses gutter language and personal insult - as trash mouth just exhibited - that's another matter. DELETE HIM -who in hell cares what he thinks?

Pam, please do not give in to them. I have a feeling they're just a tiny minority within your party. If they can't get on your blog to spew hate, they'll just go somewhere else, so don't even take it personally. Either moderate or delete. It usually only takes 2-3 sentences to tell what a person is going to say and how - don't read any further - it'll just upset you. Get rid of it.

Leslie Parsley said...

That's right, Lisa. If you actually had a blog, you might get it though your thick skull that the owner of the blog can do whatever he/she wants and IT AIN'T
GOT NUTTIN' TO DO WITH POLITICS.
In fact, why don't you go to a pet blog and quit wasting your (and our) time here.

I hope Sue does start moderating, so the rest of us don't have to be subjected to your idiotic comments.

Sue said...

Pam, where do I begin, I have so much to say and don't want it to come out all jumbled! I have found you to be polite and fair to your liberal friends. I went to your domino post and left a comment and was totally disrespected and had my words twisted by Sarah G and Malcontent, those 2 I find rude and their rants toward me were enough to tell myself I will not be able to come back and comment again. Thats too bad because you were kind enough to put me on your bloglist. I don't put conservative blogs on my list because why should I send my friends out to be insulted and called names? Your policy isn't being enforced and your "friends" run rampant acting like morons to your guests. Its one thing if a liberal comes to your blog and acts rude and insults you or your other commentors, but I haven't seen that. I've seen liberal comments that were on subject giving their opinions but were trashed to the point where both parties ended up in screaming matches. If any of my liberal commentors did that to a conservative guest leaving a comment I would be shocked and say something to them. Admittedly I will delete a comment from the right if it is off subject and rude. That way nothing can get heated. In the few short months of political blogging I think I have calmed down myself and learned how to control my blog. It's just a damn shame Pam that your "friends" are turning on you and have such hate for liberals. i hope you can get things settled down over there!

Sue said...

My Opinion, I see you have no blog but I can BETCHA if you did the liberal bashing would be through roof! Hypocrite!!

Annette said...

They are proving the point exactly.. When you try to have a discussion civilly with some of these on the rabid right it is like dealing with a rabid dog..you will get bit..

They have no manners, they have no time to talk with facts, just fear mongering and lies.

It's been that way for a long time Sue.. and it will continue that way as long as they are involved with the so called religious right and have the holier than thou attitude.

Annette said...

But then we have the same on our side.. Let's be honest here.. Look at what is happening in the health care fight..

Jane Hamsher and her blog is fighting hard against the President and even has started a campaign against Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold and others in Congress, because they didn't stand strong enough against Traitor Joe..

What were they supposed to do.. manufacture a vote out of thin air... No it wasn't what we wanted.. but at least it moved it into conference...

So yes, we have the rabid left too.. and we have to stand strong against both of them.

Sue said...

I don't like what Jane is doing, I deleted firedoglake because of the negativity. Yes the sane ones on the right and left can admit our faults, its the fringes who can't. We're just human! lol

Pamela Zydel said...

Thank you for your honesty, Sue. I'm at fault for not being a force to be reckoned with. I will change THAT in 2010. It's MY blog and yet I'm being bashed and threatened along with some really great bloggers, like you, for instance! I have ALWAYS been kind and respectful to EVERYONE and yet my OWN party has been so RUDE! I'm ashamed. I also think a lot of good, rational people, from both sides are staying away due to the rabid right extremists that are flocking to my blog. I don't want that. I want intelligent, moral, civil people and I WILL get what I want.

Thank you again for helping me see the err of MY ways.

Sue said...

Pamela when I allowed back and forth stupid comments that got off topic, just plain arguing, my good blogging friends with the smart blogs were staying away. I speak from my own mistakes too! You're much to intelligent and kind to put up with such stupidity on your blog, take control! :-)))

The basic concept of Communism is that the idea of God is irrelevant and only to be "tolerated" as an accommodation to those of "low mentality". That explains the contempt that the Left has for Christians or right-wing nuts as we are routinely described. It explains the elitist mentality of our Communist-in-Chief, who had the unmitigated gall to say that America is not a Christian nation. Communism and communist deny the existence of any form of deity, believing that only matter in motion is eternal and the only divinity is a directive force inherent in matter which is why they worship the Earth. These Leftist worship the "created things" rather than the Creator.

Bud did you read the post? What does communism have to do with this? AND stop saying Obama said we are not a Christian nation or I'll be forced to post the video to prove you WRONG!

Go to Pams and read her idiot commentors and their idiot hateful comments. Thats what the post is about sweetie. I still love ya even tho One Fly doesn't! LOL

LeftyLadi said...

Hello Bud - I just wanted to respectfully let you know the actual words Obama said regarding religions in this country. He said as follows:
" Obama, June 28, 2006 (as delivered): Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation – at least, not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers."

That wasn't as smoothly stated as he had intended, but the meaning remains clear to any reasonable person. Saying that the U.S. is not "just" a Christian nation carries the sense that it is both a Christian nation and more: a nation of Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and nonbelievers as well. Furthermore, any survey of religious beliefs held by Americans will show that to be a factually correct statement.

The actual speech he had intended giving as posted on his website was as follows:
"Obama, June 28, 2006 (prepared remarks): Given the increasing diversity of America's population, the dangers of sectarianism have never been greater. Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers."

Bud, I just thought you might want to know the actual words as opposed to what commentators on Fox News falsely reported.

Full disclosure: My information came from FactCheck.org at http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_obama_say_we_are_no_longer.html

Sue said...

thanks Nancy, anyone can go to youtube and type in "Obama says we are not a christian nation" and watch the complete video also. He is a Christian. I guess you could say we are a melting pot of religions, its the truth, whats so wrong with that?? Good grief....

LeftyLadi said...

Sue - Some people refuse to even listen to Obama so I thought I might give Bud the actual words instead. If his mind is open even a little bit, he might appreciate knowing he could make a fool of himself by repeating a lie. There must be something in his Bible that preaches against lying.

LeftyLadi said...

Also - there's not a thing in the world wrong with our melting pot. Vive la difference!

LeftyLadi said...

Lisa - I believe that 76% you quoted has dropped somewhat, but within that 76% are Christians who identify with their own brand - Catholics, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, Episcopalians, Evangelicals, Protestants, Baptists, etc. Not all Christians are equal and not all hate Obama or were offended by his remarks. He correctly understood that this nation is indeed a melting pot of religions of all stripes. I cannot imagine why some Christians are offended by that.

LeftyLadi said...

Lisa - By Obama's words he gave validity to the fact that this is not just a Christian nation. Many people of other religions are offended that Christians do not give any credence to anything other than their own. I applaud Obama for making it clear that this country is not as the Bush administration tried to convince. Bush would have liked everyone to think that the only legitimate race is white and that everyone is heterosexual. Some of us just got tired of the republican lies.

Sue - Then it's Bud's loss for ignoring true statements. :-)

LeftyLadi said...

Lisa - I didn't mean to offend or to imply that YOU or all Christians hate Obama. I'm beginning to wonder if all this negativity toward Obama is pushback against all the negativity expressed against Bush. There's a huge difference though, Lisa. All of us experienced 8 years of Bush policies. Some republicans didn't even give Obama two weeks before they began to slam him. There's just no credibility with that.

OK, I shouldn’t comment when I’m angry, but enough already!

I’ve already established in previous comments that I am Christian, that I love my country, that I support the principle of “separation of church and state.”

When are you Repulbicans going to learn that you were suckered into the GOP by the likes of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove because you love the Lord? The strategists of the Republican Party play you like a fine violin. They have drawn you into voting for a Party on the basis of God, gays, abortion and other issues of your faith, and they could give a sh*t about your welfare.

This is NOT … I repeat, this is NOT a Christian nation, and it’s against the law of this land for anyone to declare it so. Don’t you know your own Constitution? Those who penned the Bill of Rights thought this was so important they led off the document with “Congress shall make no law respecting an ESTABLISHMENT of religion. …,”

Oh, your Party leaders and their conservative mouthpieces can get you all riled up about we liberals attempting to do away with Christmas, about gay marriage destroying the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman (isn’t it 3 out every 4 of the latter which end in divorce?), and that old standard, prayer in schools.

The Supreme Court never said children cannot pray in school. It said children cannot be FORCED to pray in school. I know this because I was married to a school principal and a teacher and, well, I’ve had a good many law courses. The school made study hall provisions for children who did not want to participate in Chrismas programs. That is fully within their rights, most often their religious rights.

No one is telling you you cannot worship as you choose. No one is trying to destroy your religion. The Bill of Rights makes provisions for that, too. Contrary to what you might think, we liberals and your president are NOT communists. What I have stated here exists within the U.S. Constitution, and we merely seek to uphold it. And, for that, we - and the ACLU - have to take a beating from the likes of a Bill O’Reilly or a Sean Hannity or from you poor souls who are being used and don’t even know it!
