Alan Grayson for President 2016!!

Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida is proving every day he is compassionate, caring, and the kinda guy this country needs in 2016.
If Democrats keep electing men like Grayson to represent us we have no worry we will continue to hold power for many, many years to come. Hopefully as long as I have left on the planet!
I know it's way too soon to be talking about 2016, but pay attention my fellow Dems, we have to stay on top of things, we can not be passive, we can not turn our backs for one minute. The rethugs are desperate, they will do ANYTHING to steal back the power. They cannot be trusted, you already know that!

OK, Yes I just watched Grayson on Olbermann and I am liking his passion. He CARES about you and me, he CARES about healthcare reform.
Remember his name... Alan Grayson

This single post and your reaction to it PROVES to me that you are people beyond help or redemption. This unfortunate Grayson is a hate-filled liar. It was a ridiculous statement to make and beneath the dignity of someone in his position to go before Congress with such blatantly false hate speech. You all are so dishonest even with yourselves, that you to refuse to look into the mirror to see that you are EXACTLY what you spew about conservatives day after day. You destroy any credibility that you could possibly earn by being so "one note" in every way. You spew hate and derision day after day and NEVER have anything original or new to say about the ISSUES. It is a waste of time to even attempt to discuss any issue with you, because you are so obtuse as to be rendered unable to see anything through the fog of your own vile hatred. Your pathetic goal in life is to come up with new disparaging names for anyone who disagrees with the Democrat party talking points, and then you call them facists!!!! You are incapable of original thought and therefore robotic in your comments. You truly are like a group of teens with arrested development.

The only America you want to see is the one to which Obama will do his best to take you. The problem is, once you get there, you are going to hate the restrictions, the taxes, the government interference, and the fact that you won't be able to spew your beloved hatred. Speech will be so regulated. The control has already been plotted and planned and is ready for implementation. You are all dimwitted sheep and won't wake up until it is too late. I feel sorry for your ignorance.

Sue said...

Oh my goodnes gracious Linda, you are mighty angry this morning. Could it be because health reform is right around the corner, or because Obama won the NPP? You are the dimwitted sheep because you do nothing but quote conservative fearmongering talking points. Why would you call Grayson a liar when he is nothing but the true-blue type of rep. this country so needs right now. He speaks of caring for the people of this country over profits and greed. Did you condemn your side for their hate-filled retoric during the town halls and in front of Congress? It's never gonna work Linda, I believe your side are liars and obstructionists and you believe my side are liars. But all in all I do appreciate your comments! :-)

Frodo, Linda's worst nightmare, said...

Frodo once knew a very wealthy man who dedicated himself to the country that provided him with so much opportunity. He was not a warrior, but he was a fearless leader. If Frodo were to mention his name, not a single reader here would recognize this gallant man.
In those days, the President of the United States compiled an "Enemies List," and instructed his underlings to commence harassment against those who opposed him (from the public record, for example, it can be surmised that Cesar Chavez was one of those targeted). Frodo's friend was confronted and told to initiate tax audits against those on the list, or he would be removed from his job. Frodo's friend, in so many words, told the Presidential underling that he did not need the job, so the threat was not important. However, his country was, and he told the Presidential underling that not only would he prevent the action, but he was on his way, out the door, to the WASHINGTON POST, and he would provide full disclosure to the press.
Frodo has long recognized that the independent wealth of his friend allowed him to act with honor, and respect, for his country. It is unfortunate that all of us do not have such independence.
Representative Grayson is a millionaire, and he does not need this job. He can act with his heart, as well as with his mind. For someone such as Linda to merely dismiss his words as purely partisan is an off-hand dismissal of reason, and is a reflection of her willingness to swallow grape Kool-Aid. Her statements are the height of folly, and are contravened by the lessons of history.

Sue said...

Frodo you have my utmost thanks and respect. I love having you visit and comment with your wisdom!!

The Wool Cupboard said...

CDM ~ I want the America given to us by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution...you know the guiding document that Mr. Obama is doing his best to circumvent.

Mr. Grayson IS a liar. No conservative wants people to "die quickly". Republicans want health care reform that truly benefits all Americans. They want a STABLE program that won't be bankrupt in two years...unlike Obama's plan which will go the way of Social Security and Medicare...bankrupt! Conservatives want a plan that doesn't tax Americans into poverty. Obama lies when he says he will not tax those who make less than $250,000. EVERYONE will be paying huge taxes before he is through (except the tax cheats in Congress, of course.) Why can't liberals see that there will be no health care anywhere when the cost of this fiasco finally surfaces. Obama lies when he tells you that it will be deficit neutral. What a joke. It is IMPOSSIBLE to spend TRILLIONS of dollars and hope to survive as a nation. WE CANNOT AFFORD FOR UNCLE SAM TO BE EVERYONE'S CARETAKER.

The logical solution (one which conservatives endorse) is to make affordable health care available to those who have no coverage and want it. Those who already have health care should not have to go to some government plan just because Obama undercuts all the other plans already in service. I just want all the Marxists in Obama's administration from bottom to top to go live in some other already socialist country and leave America alone. More than 50% of the population doesn't want Obama's "fundamental transformation" of America. I certainly don't.

The CDM said...

"I want the America given to us by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution"

I actually find that interesting. EXACTLY what version are you referring to? Do you want the original unaltered document or the one that keeps getting amended, but should only have the amendments you approve of?

Jerry Critter said...

Linda,

"...because Obama undercuts all the other plans already in service"

Wouldn't you like to pay less for your health insurance...or at least have the CHOICE and OPTION to pay less?

I have to laugh when a self proclaimed [conservative] starts grasping at the constitution. The insano far right fringe, [birthers] parrot this talking point to gain patriotic sympathy. Where were they when the SHRUB was shredding their beloved constitution? i can tell you where they were. They were awol. Running around like chickens with their heads cut off. screaming [[[ WE WANT SECURITY]]]] The hell with the Constitution and our freedoms, just give us delusional security. Well one of our founding fathers had something to say about that. If, and when we choose security over freedom. then we deserve neither. I will take freedom over delusional security all day long.

The Wool Cupboard said...

RZ ~ Bush didn't shred the Constitution, he attempted to protect the U.S. against further attacks, and was. of course, successful. Unless you were making overseas phone calls to people who were suspected terrorists, then I think you had nothing to worry about from President Bush. How many everyday citizens were arrested in the wiretap process? I don't think you will find any. I didn't notice any loss of freedom when Bush was President. Your quip about taking security over delusional freedom any day is laughable considering the President we now have. You now have a guarantee of neither security nor freedom under Obama.

Did it ever occur to you that many conservatives REALLY believe what they say? The majority of those conservatives attending town hall meetings and tea parties are patriotic every day Americans who want our unadulterated Constitution to be honored. I'm not saying that every amendment is bad, far from it. What worries me is our current President who doesn't seem to think very much of the Constitution in any form. His goal is to make the Constitution "fair"...whatever that means to him. When deciding whom to trust with the Constitution, I would choose the Founding Fathers and their wisdom, not the arrogant "corrections" being pursued by Mr. Obama.

The Wool Cupboard said...

Jerry ~ Why is it so hard for libs to understand that no company is going to keep their current health care plan when the government comes out with a "cheap" alternative? Your employer will suddenly decide that he would rather pay the fine than to continue to cover your family's health costs. The only option left will be the public option. I don't want the big nose of government in my health care coverage. EVERYTHING that the government has taken over is bigger, more wasteful, filled with red tape, delay ridden, corrupt, inept, uncaring and BANKRUPT!!!! Think about it and see the truth. Please.

Jerry Critter said...

If your company drops its health insurance coverage, you will always have to option to by private insurance yourself -- just like now. Companies do not have to provide insurance. If you don't like to public option, don't get it.

The Wool Cupboard said...

Jerry ~ How long do you really expect private insurance companies to survive when most people will choose the public option (unless they compare coverage) thinking they are getting great coverage inexpensively. I've heard all the garbage about how the public option will keep private companies in check, but that is bunk. The government needs to allow capitalism to work the way it always has by laying down a few rules to protect people from those who would be dishonest and then encouraging competition by allowing purchases of insurance from other states and stopping companies from dropping people who become ill. I think we would have a healthier system without involving your "honest" elected officials. Look at all the crooks in Congress...do you really want their criminal minds in charge of your health care? I, for one, don't! You are just a ticket to riches and power to them. They don't really care about you or your health care.

Sue said...

And Insurance companies don't care about us and our health either!! Just their PROFITS!! Get real Linda, Ins. Those who know Bush regard him as a decent, dedicated man with strong convictions and beliefs and a good deal of faith. What charges can you prove that he is a law-breaker?

CDM ~ "I didn't notice any loss of freedom when Bush was President."

***This is the part of your logic that all of us, and especially B.J., keeps pointing out to you. You choose to look at things in a different light or through upper middle-class glasses that keep you from seeing anything else.***

In the first place, I am not by any stretch upper middle class. Secondly, my family is suffering though the economic problems just as many others are. My husband is being laid-off from work at least one week out of every month and several months it has been two weeks. I babysit my three grandchildren during the week, which, of course, doesn't pay as a job would. You can see that "wealthy" is not even on the horizon for us. I do, however, have a strong belief in the American system and believe it to be the best place in the world in which to live. Not too many places in the world can attest to having people swarm their borders, risking their very lives, to get a chance to live there. We do have that situation here, and it is because of the admirable success of our capitalistic system of government. We have enjoyed the highest standard of living anywhere in the world because of capitalism. Why do dems want to allow the current administration to tinker with a system that worked up until the dems started messing up the financial system with their subprime lending fiasco?

I've not been convinced that you have any correct answers here. Sorry, but I still believe in our basic system of government as the best in the world. Liberty is best.

The Wool Cupboard said...

Before you all accuse me of having it both ways, I do believe in our system of government as being the best, but, at the same time, I feel that we are losing our system because of corruption in high places. The laundry list of broken laws by our legislators is truly appalling. I'm not saying that we don't have problems. As long as we have dishonest politicians, we will have problems. When we figure out a way to take the money and prestige out of politics, then maybe we can have the real representative republic that the Founding Fathers intended. I hope I live to see it.

Linda, I've known some conservatives in my time that were fine people, but they are not the ones who are currently running the Republican party. Alan Grayson spelled out the Republican Health Care Plan perfectly. Can we all agree that 9/11 was a tragedy? Every year the equivalent of 15 9/11s happen, because people can't get health care. More die, because Big Insurance denies their valid claims. The Republican Plan is to delay, deny, and resist reform. They know that a successful Obama Presidency will relegate them to the political backwater for a generation or more. They don't seem to care what lies they have to tell or how many people they have to harm to prevent that.

They make themselves sound so caring when they actually only give a crap about their own power.
I can't believe a bunch of educated people can't see that or are just too ignorant to admit it.
As for me I don't want to learn the hard way like every other socialist "Utopia" has.

You make no sense at all!! You are so wrong on so many levels here. 9/11 was an act of war on the United States that killed over 3,000 innocent Americans. I can't believe that you are using this cowardly act as a political blunt instrument with which to bludgeon those with whom you disagree! That is really, really low and so despicable.

Energy wars...sigh. We have taken NO OIL from Iraq. This was not about getting a cheap source of oil. George Bush acted in defense of America and those who died. He was doing a good thing for America in trying to stop terrorism. Your sickening accusations have no merit. You have no proof, no evidence and no clue!

For your information, the Obama administration has said that these banks were "too big to fail." Who do you think took over the big banks? It wasn't GWB. It was OBAMA!! The Republicans have fought these bailouts of banks tooth and nail only to watch the Democrats bail out bank after bank, and then CONTROL them. None of the conservatives wanted these unwise, misguided bailouts to happen. Conservatives wanted these failing big businesses to go through bankruptcy in order to reorganize and come out of bankruptcy as leaner and more focused and viable businesses. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE BANKRUPTCY...TO HELP BUSINESSES TURN AROUND BAD BUSINESS PROCEDURES AND BE ABLE TO COME BACK AS STRONG INSTITUTIONS. Sheesh. Don't you know how this is supposed to work? Obama is just as involved with big business as any other President. I would even say that he is MORE involved with all the takeovers he has presided over!! If you think that America can survive without big businesses, then you have to be pretty ignorant. Obama is driving our economy to the brink of ruin (either in stupidity or by design ~ I have an opinion as to which it is.) You will see in the coming months, that those countries whose governments did not go through all these bailouts and "stimulus" hoaxes will emerge stronger and more stable while those (like the U.S. who bailed out nearly everyone and borrowed trillions of dollars trying to buy a loyal voting block) will fall deeper and deeper into failure. We will fail unless the government stops the corruption, the waste, the borrowing, the printing of money, and the lying to the people. A representative republic will only work with an ethical moral people. It won't survive the attack from within by those whose goals are holding onto power at ANY cost and who have no moral conscience to guide them to do the right thing for the sake of the American people. This whole debate is not really about health care - it is about CONTROL. Only the ignorant will stand by and watch it happen and applaud.

The new Iraqi government is Muslim. They just aren't the radical terrorist Muslims that controlled it before. George W. Bush has NEVER said that he is part of "God's army" to rid the world of Muslims. That is a lie. He is, however, a man of deep faith, and that is admirable.

Linda:

I am going to respond to your comment to RZ without reading subsequent comments. Perhaps he defends his own statements.

Yes, RZ knows what he (she?) is talking about and, yes, there is proof.

Why don’t you research before you defend George W. Bush?

Start by reading “Whose War?” by conservative Pat Buchanan in his American Conservative magazine. Do a google search, it’s there.

The neoconservatives said they needed a “new Pearl Harbor” to implement their vision of a Pax Americana, and they got it on 9/11. Two of the signers of the neoconservative “statement of principles” – Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld – urged Bush on the days following 9/11 to invade Iraq. (Google Project for a New American Centry” and view the signers of the “statement of principles.” Google “a new Pearl Harbor.”)

George W. Bush gave 17 different reasons for invading Iraq. He himelf said oil was one of the reasons – to protect the flow of oil.

Do some research instead of coming on this blog every night and blasting people who know exactly what they are talking about.

The claim that Bush invaded Iraq to keep us safe is wrong. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, had no pre-war connections to al Qaeda. We toppled a tinpot dictator who was no threat to us whatsoever. Had we instead kept our eye on the ball in Afghansitan, we might not be mired down there today.

Here’s one for you: did you know that the official FBI “most wanted” Web site on Osama bin Laden does not mention September 11? A spokesman for the FBI said there is “no hard evidence” that bin Laden was involved in 9/11 and that’s why it’s not listed as one of his crimes.

I certainly am not a “9/11 truther.” I believe bin Laden was involved. Saddam and Iraq were not.

Finally, George W. Bush was an inept puppet of the neoconservatives which Dick Cheney very deftly talked him into placing in very high positions in his administration. He was the worst president this country has ever had and, hopefully, ever will have.

Don’t come back at me with “you don’t know what you’re talking about.” Oh, my dear, I do.

Linda:

On Tuesday, 30 August 2005, George W. Bush appeared at the Naval Air Station North Island to commemorate the 60th anniversary of V-J Day. The speech that day was so blatantly Bush. He had the cojones to compare the end of WWII with a victory in Iraq. He compared 9/11 to Pearl Harbor, then implied Iraq was to blame for that attack. He warned against the perils of an al Qaeda presence in Iraq, while failing to mention that there was NO al Qaeda presence in Iraq before the U.S. invasion.

But, in recounting this event for you, specifically, this is the first time Bush cited Iraq’s oil fields as a reason for fighting in Iraq.

“If (Abu Musab al-) Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks; they'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions; they could recruit more terrorists by claiming an historic victory over the United States and our coalition.”

And here I thought it was just me who felt a certain way. I'm gettin' misty just reading everything.

Nicely done, Reality Zone and B.J. You put in a great deal of effort and information. I can't speak for Sue, but I'm sure she's elated by your input.

I've tried talking to those 2, only to find myself coming damn close to beating my head against the keyboard, just ask Sue, our conversations go on for quite a while on this. You guys are really paying your dues despite the fact that there was never a balance.

I can just bet you guys are in the same boat as me for addressing brick walls and howler monkeys. My hat(if I had one) is off to you Reality Zone and B.J.

Thanks, RZ! I'll check it out.

I suspect my own computer files are a fairly good archive of the last 10 years. Window XP has Google to search your own files and CDs - amazing!

you did say it perfectly Tom!

TomCat ~ It's great that you have known some nice republicans over the years. I'm happy for you. Hey, I know some nice democrats, too. Now that that is out of the way, WHAT does that have to do with the health care debate?? You say that the "nice" republicans are not in charge of the party right now...I'm assuming that you personally know the conservatives who are trying to run the republican party right now, since you say they aren't "nice." I don't make similar claims about the democrat party, because I don't know any of them personally. I only know that I certainly disagree with about 95% of what they are doing to the American people right now. I, for instance, do not like the fact that democrats want to shove a health care plan that more than 50% of Americans DON'T WANT down our collective throats. I don't like the fact that democrats promised transparency (such a promised contrast to the nasty republicans who never tell anyone anything--never reveal what they do behind closed doors--never reveal what laws they are going to pass until the vote--never consult with the other party about legislation under consideration...hmmmm....WAIT A MINUTE...that sounds more like the Democrats!!!!!

TC, wake up!! Why do you suppose that Obama's plan will not go into effect until 4 years from now? If 45,000 people are dying every year because they can't get health care (a number which you cannot possibly KNOW is accurate...just another democrat playbook tool...LIE about numbers because no one knows anyway...and WHO bothers to check it out...hee hee!!), then WHY would Obama put off for 4 years his plan to save those poor suffering people. That's 180,000 people who will die while waiting for Obama to save them. I'll tell you why the wait -he wants to get re-elected. All the huge cost and sub-par care won't kick in until he is in his second term (God help all Americans) and he won't have to worry about being tossed out for his lies. By then he will be focused on his World Obama agenda anyway and the troubles of Americans will be old hat and second fiddle to the greater good of the ENTIRE WORLD!!

Your argument is weak, Tom, weak. Conservatives won't have to worry about too much once the public sees that the economy will be still declining and not improving. They will be sick of hearing Obama's same old tired flowery speeches with no improvement to show for the promises he makes, ad nauseum. People are not stupid. They see through the lies about borrowing trillions not ruining our economy. They understand that the government cannot possibly pay for health care for everyone and still claim it to be "deficit neutral." They know that no government can keep printing money, borrowing trillions from Communists, giving stimulus payouts to millions of people, and overtaking huge blocks of public businesses without destroying the very people they CLAIM that they are trying to "help." Obama will be remembered in history as the first black President, but also as the President who presided over the bankrupting of America.

Linda:

First point: I am a nice Democrat. I belong to the Democratic Party.

Second point: I am a Democrat. I belong to the DEMOCRATIC Party! That you follow the silly right-wing talking point to refer to it as the Democrat Party speaks volumes about your ability to think for yourself. We don’t call your party the Republic Party, do we?

It amuses me that everything you charge the Democrats with is exactly what GWB put this nation through for eight years.

Girlfriend, I feel sorry for any woman who got f**ked and didn’t even know it.

See how nice I am,, feeling sorry for you!

P.S. This comment thread is like “an everlasting gobstopper.”

BJ ~ Out of everything discussed THIS is what irritates you? Way to dig deep!!

I call it the Democrat Party, BJ, because to me it is in NO WAY democratic. If I were to apply my preferred descriptive, it would be socialistic.

The Wool Cupboard said...

Oh, and, BJ, If you want to call it the Republic Party, it would be perfectly legitimate, because we are all for preserving our wonderful republic.

Your little argument falls kinda' flat, doesn't it?

Jerry Critter said...

Linda,

Poll after poll has shown that MORE THAN 50% of the people support a public option.

The 45,000 people dying per year due to lack of health insurance comes from a study published a couple of weeks ago and no one is disputing it.

Sue said...

Linda I really pity you and your horrible negative attitude. Nobody here can say anything to convince you you are dead wrong on EVERYTHING you say.

The Wool Cupboard said...

Sue ~ Well, I'm truly sorry for being so difficult. I really wish I could just roll over and accept everything you all say as Gospel. But, you know, one thing keeps getting in the way of my blindly accepting everything that you all say so sweetly...my BRAIN!!

I guess I should just call it a day and go my merry way. I seem to cause so much ill will here. I guess it would be ever so much more interesting for you all to just turn on your computers each morning and read all the high-fives and pats on the back in agreement..."yeah, repugs are insano fringers", or "those howler-monkeys and brick walls are so stupid", "great post, Sue". "Shrub was such a stupid slug." "Do you believe those Constitution loving wing nuts?!" "Those selfish Wingers even think they should get to keep their own money - the selfish hatemongers...they just want sick people to die."

If that's what you really want, then enjoy! I would be bored to tears.

Frodo, betting she lives in Whacko Texas, said...

Linda, what is the population of the town in which you live? What is the population mix by race, religion, gender, and age? What is the median number of years of formal education?

Frodo asks simply because he cannot believe that anyone was borne with such a distorted and uninformed view of life in America. There must have been some sort of environmental disaster which destroyed expected levels of brain cellular development.

Linda, who was Robert Reid?

Don't tell Frodo that the Incomparable Moron George W. Bush prevented further attacks on America. Robert Reid got his flaming, exploding shoe past all the new and improved terror prevention devices of the most incompetent Administration in any western nation since the dawn of the Industrial Age. Had it not been for a bunch of passengers and stewardesses, we'd have an even greater number added to the carnage brought upon us on the Bush watch (or lack thereof).

Note also that there have been no such attacks since Bush left office.

Sue said...

Frodo I'm sorry to have to tell you this in front of all blogland, but I truely love you...

Linda of course I welcome your side of the isle, so to speak, but if you go to political conservative blogs you will see so much more hate and partisan remarks coming from very hateful people. They truely HATE liberals and Obama. I don't hate you at all, in fact you make my blog very interesting and not the least bit boring! :-)))
