I'm lovin Pres.Obama's stance on taxing the wealthy, GOOBERS are still saying NO...

46.2 MILLION Americans are living in poverty.....we're turning into a Third World nation before our very eyes...we could become another Africa if we stay on the course the Republicans would like us on...

Rand Paul actually had the balls to say the rich are getting richer but the poor are getting richer FASTER!!  Yes he sure did, even though facts show income equality in the US is greater than that of Pakistan and Ethiopia and higher than at any other time since the Great Depression. Yes, because of low tax rates Paul is right, the rich are getting richer, but he is delusional when he says the poor are getting richer! One in three middle class American workers is slipping down the income ladder, wages are stagnant and the purchasing power of the minimum wage were at a 51 yr low. So yes, Rand Paul is a delusional teabagging wacko...

Finally, we have our president standing up and strongly putting forth his plan for jobs and deficit reduction. This is the fight we have been waiting almost 3 years for!   President Obama was tough today, speaking in the White House Rose Garden he told the Republicans what he expects them to do and if they deliver a bill to him with no tax increases he will veto!  Republicans fight back calling this class warfare, oh Gawd, how pathetic they are....

"This is not class warfare -- it's math," Mr. Obama said, addressing GOP critiques of his plan head on.
"The money has to come from some place," he continued. "If we're not willing to ask those who've done extraordinarily well to help America close the deficit... the math says everybody else has to do a whole lot more, we've got to put the entire burden on the middle class and the poor."

Obama's proposals include 1.5 trillion in new taxes, with about 800 billion from the repeal of the Bush tax rates, he also closes some corporate tax loopholes and limits certain tax deductions. Now President Obama is also unveiling his Buffet Rule which will compel those making 1 million or more a year to pay the same overall rate as other taxpayers.. We are living in extraordinary times and they call for extraordinary measures, this IS FAIR! Even Warren Buffet says it is fair...

It’s a plan that reduces our debt by more than $4 trillion, and achieves these savings in a way that is fair--by asking everybody to do their part so that no one has to bear too much of the burden on their own.
Obama, “All told, this plan cuts $2 in spending for every dollar in new revenues. In addition to the $1 trillion in spending that we’ve already cut from the budget, our plan makes additional spending cuts that need to happen if we’re to solve this problem. We reform agricultural subsidies--subsidies that a lot of times pay large farms for crops that they don't grow. We make modest adjustments to federal retirement programs. We reduce by tens of billions of dollars the tax money that goes to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. We also ask the largest financial firms--companies saved by tax dollars during the financial crisis--to repay the American people for every dime that we spent. And we save an additional $1 trillion as we end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Finally, this plan includes structural reforms to reduce the cost of health care in programs like Medicare and Medicaid … We’ll work with governors to make Medicaid more efficient and more accountable. And we’ll change the way we pay for health care. Instead of just paying for procedures, providers will be paid more when they improve results—and such steps will save money and improve care.
“So this is how we can reduce spending: by scouring the budget for every dime of waste and inefficiency, by reforming government spending, and by making modest adjustments to Medicare and Medicaid. But all these reductions in spending, by themselves, will not solve our fiscal problems. We can’t just cut our way out of this hole. It’s going to take a balanced approach. If we’re going to make spending cuts—many of which we wouldn’t make if we weren’t facing such large budget deficits—then it’s only right that we ask everyone to pay their fair share.

BUT the GOOBERS do not agree...nope they are standing by their mantra, NO NEW TAXES...the coffin lid has closed and the last nails are about to be driven, thank god! Who do these GOP'ers think they are representing??   Just watching those evil smiles on the ugly faces of Cantor, Boehner and McCarthy as they marched like little soldiers to the microphones to bash the presidents plan is almost laughable, it's enough to make a grown man hurl....

How many times do we have to hear the tired 'ole lie, tax increases on the wealthy stifle job growth? It's one of the biggest lies the Republicans have thrown at the American people. They are liars, but why do they keep lying when even the top earners are asking them to stop coddling the rich?? It seems like they are sabotaging their own party from within, it's an amazing thing to watch!
Fuck you GOP and your lies and garbage talk.....

There's a barb in the reference to reforming agricultural subsidies, too. This is the one really large volume of government spending that actually is wasteful and useless, and it mostly goes to large-scale agribusiness, not family farmers -- so in lean times (especially) it should surely be on the table.

But this giant welfare program is also a massive blue-to-red wealth transfer. The main centers of economic activity nowadays are big cities, largely Democratic-voting and in blue states. Those are the places that contribute more to the federal treasury than they get back from it. Agricultural subsidies flow into rural, thinly-populated states that mostly vote Republican. It's time to stop conservative welfare queens from sponging off of hard-working liberals!

The Guardians Of Plutocracy will be backed into a corner this time. They will only show their true contempt for democracy by opposing the wishes of a clear majority of Americans.

It's their time to lose, and lose big.

lose and lose BIG, this is my hope...I know I am looking forward with glee to the campaign season. The utter arrogance, disrespect, and ignorance coming from the mouths of the GOP candidates towards our president is more than I can stand anymore. I can't wait for the election to be behind us.

Thanks for the comments guys..

Dave, the GOP is only for direct democracy when they agree with the outcome...

It matters not whether it is domestic, or international...

But you won't be hearing that from any GOP apologists here...
