If the unemployment rate stays at or above 9%, I'd probably have to go with "possibly yes".

Here's a revealing piece by a former "GOP operative" who says the Republicans are committing "political terrorism."

And now the traitors are selling their historical revisions as free men.

As long as Americans are duped into voting for the Greedy Old Plutocrat's "Greed First, Country Second" agenda, we will devolve into a third world country.

it's scary, so scary...the only thing that gives me hope is we were here before and came out of it. The best way to move forward and NOT turn into a Third World nation is by educating the people on the dangers of today's republican extremists.

A Perry nomination would be a huge gift to Obama and, yet, Presidents tend NOT to get reelected during periods of high unemployment, especially if the high rates aren't trending downward.............One good sign for Democrats is the fact that the Republican Congress is polling even worse than the President. If Mr. Obama gets bounced, so, too, might some of these over-reaching tea partiers.

Will is just responding to the title of the post. Clearly he didn't watch the video because crashing the economy qualifies as "fraud"...

That being the case, I'll have to go with "absolutely not".

Also, I seriously doubt Will would agree with any of the rest of the video... even though it is all 100 percent true. Moderates don't believe in conspiracy theories. The tapes proving Nixon committed treason... were fabricated??

Who knows how these "moderates" think, but I'm certain Will would dismiss Thom Hartmann's facts (if he were to watch the video... which he won't).

As a loyal Thom Hartmann listener, I've heard most of this rant before, although it is great he collected the separate elements and did a segment for his TV program... and we now have a YouTube video of it... Even if it only has 6,077 hits (which isn't a lot as far as YouTube hits goes).

What I think might do Obama in are (either) the unemployment (which is due to Republicans purposefully trying to tank the economy, i.e. fraud) or...

Not listening to the advice of Dwight Eisenhower. What happens if the debt commission proposes cuts to Social Security and Medicare, Congress passes the legislation, and Democratic President Barack Obama signs it?

Then the next president will be a Republican and neither fraud nor treason will be the reason.

w, why would Obama signing a bill to cut SS put a republican in the WH? First, I don't believe the cuts will happen like the doubters think they will, and second if there are cuts coming from Congress(GOP) then it is the Congressmen who will be job hunting not Obama. Why would the country put a republican president in who speaks about totally dismantling SS, while Obama never ever said that?

The bigots and zealots and idiots have done a good job delivering their votes to republicans. As a dog and one who isn't affected, I have to admit their strategy is pretty foolproof in that it panders to fools, desperate to have their foolishness validated.

With all the union hating corporate money asking the rest of us to pay their damn taxes, maybe.

Especially if the corporate owned and controlled MSM keeps spinning for the right wing like it did in 2000, 2004, and 2010.

No left of center organization EVER got the kind of free press the astroturf led, tea baggin' fools brigade did, from the corporate owned MSM .... CNN and Fox being the head cheer leaders for that bought and paid for "movement".

wd, I'm just looking at the historical antecedents. The only 2 times that a President got elected with an unemployment rate over 9% was when that rate was tending downward. Now, the fact that the Republicans are considering nominating an anti-science lunatic to run against Mr. Obama, yes, that conventional wisdom potentially gets thrown out the door. I'm just doing analysis here and so what's your problem?............As for Mr. Hartmann, I don't care what Mr. Hartmann says. a) He's a partisan stooge and b) he's a partisan stooge. And I especially don't give credence to individuals who casually throw around loaded terms such as "un-American" (the same reason that I don't listen to idiots on the right like Beck and Savage). He can preach to the choir but he cannot preach to me.

Sue: why would Obama signing a bill to cut SS put a republican in the WH?

Because discouraged Democrats would stay home.

Sue: Why would the country put a republican president in who speaks about totally dismantling SS, while Obama never ever said that?

Because discouraged Democrats would stay home. That is one of the major reasons Democrats don't win more elections. People think there is not much difference between the parties so why bother voting?

This is exactly what we say with the midterms. If Democrats had shown up we would have won. But they didn't so now we're dealing with the teabagger morons in the House.

Will: I don't care what Mr. Hartmann says. a) He's a partisan stooge and b) he's a partisan stooge.

Thom Hartmann is NOT a partisan stooge. A partisan stooge is someone who sticks up for one party over the other because they view politics as "your team" versus "my team". That is not Thom Hartmann.

Thom Hartmann has never casually throw around loaded terms such as "un-American". Never done it.

I think "partisan stooge" is anyone who is too far left for your taste.

He's a leftist down-the-line stooge then. What, I'm supposed to give this overly orthodox miscreant a pass because he occasionally criticizes the Democrats for not being liberal ENOUGH? Palease.
