This is the snowstorm/blizzard we got Friday, dumping over 2 feet of snow in our area after snowing for 24 straight hours. We got news this weekend there would be another storm coming Wednesday, tonight's 6 pm news says it's another monster nor'easter and we'll get pummeled with another 18 to 24 inches!
Now, all you who laugh at the global warming folks, all this snow blanketing the country is the effects of global warming. Just stop laughing and pay attention to what the experts say(that's not me BTW :-), Global warming is climate change. That means as the earth warms we will have extremes in our weather. HOTTER in summer yes, BUT also colder and MORE SNOW in the winter months. I have my proof....... snow up the wazoooooo!

Couple things that you also have to throw in there: Wild temperature swings and Sulfer Dioxide as an added problem. Look 'em up in relation to the weather.
Keep your Xmas decorations up all year? I wish Nashville would get something like that, but the way folks drive here with just 2 inches, they'd all be upended. Really a lovely picture.
that's what I said C, extremes in the weather. I'll leave the scientific stuff to you. lol
Leslie these are my winter decorations, not Christmas. I have snowmen up til March because we have snow til March so why take them down with Santa? The garland on the porch rail stays up til it gets warmer too but I don't turn on the little lights. When you live in a state that stays cold and snowy til Spring why strip all the winter decorations from outside right after Christmas, I think that's stupid. Click on the picture and you can see the snowmen, no santas! lol. This explanation was waaaaaay to long, sorry!LOLOL!
when you click on the picture look at the black snowman hat peeking out of the snow in front of the picket fence by the mailbox. He is about 20 inches tall and that's all that's showing, the hat! lol
Very "countryfied." Love it. We're getting the same shit here as I write.
One year when I was in Denver, we didn't see the ground from Oct. to April. At Thanksgiving and Christmas we had blizzard conditions. All the neighbors got together to eat up all the food.
Normally, Denver can have the big blizzard and 50 degree weather the next day.
Enjoy. I miss it.
you're getting snow right now?? Must be what is headed our way. I like it even tho I complain. I guess the baby won't be here Wednesday so I'll be blogging all day, yippee!
A warmer climate means increasing evaporation from the oceans, which means more water vapor in the atmosphere (which is also a greenhouse gas, incidentally), which in turn means increased precipitation -- more rain in the rainy season, more snow in the snowy season.
I've found this to be a pretty good site to refer to if you need to deal with global-warming denialists.
Good luck weathering the storm down there Sue. You guys in South Jersey are really getting hammered. Our final total here in the New Brunswick area was just under 8 inches from the previous storm, about one third of what you got.
Then if you head across the Arthur Kill to Staten Island (seven miles away) about two inches, Brooklyn and the other boroughs only a trace.
This area won't be a lucky this time....at least a foot predicted to fall....and nobody has anymore ice melt or salt, either sold out or aren't stocking anymore for the duration of winter....and get this- yesterday friggin' TARGET was putting out men's and women's swimwear and spring/summer clothes, three days after one major snow storm and a day before the arrival of another!
Can they at least wait until St. Patrick's Day?
Geeeesh!
What happened to "warmer' winters being associated to Global Warming?
You know what. No one is going to wave a magic wand to control the climate.
If there was no so called Global Warming we'd be having another ice age. You do remember the Ice Age don't you?
In the words of Van Jones. We can only achieve Social Justice through Cap and Trade.
At this very moment an idiot is calling Al Gore a liar because it's snowing in New Jersey in early February.
Thanks for the link Infidel. The science is there but the non-believers don't believe in science, they won't read anything that could very well change their minds.
Hugh looks like we are in the 12 and up, possibly 24 inches again! This is selfish of me but, I say bring it on cuz I won't be babysitting therefore more free time to blog! lol
Truth, poor Al, he really gets slammed from the denialists, my brother is one of them, so is lisa...
"You do remember the Ice Age don't you?"
Well, I'm pretty ancient but not that ancient, so I guess I have to just rely on science.
lisa - It's retarded talk like that that make scientists and professors everywhere want to quit simply because you never did background on "Global Warming". You just see the word and think it's just as simple as you are.
It's about Global Governance and money.
I guess I am simple if I was able to figure out a simple fact like that.
I laughed until I cried at the great depth of humor (not snow) with which you presented snow as proof of warming!
That is so hysterical! You are a great comedienne! Well done!
Sooo funny! What a great job of putting those global warming kooks in their place.
Sue, I doubt that even you realize how enormously funny you came across.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Joe you are a hoot! Apparently you didn't read the comment by Infidel. Warming of the earth causes more water vapor, which in turn causes more snow and more rain. Even a 5th grader can understand that. Come on Joe you can do it!
Actually I read all of the comments. Context is everything.
I still say you made a great case and made global warming a laughable premise...though I'm certain you did it quite by accident.
no Joe, I'm dead serious. Our blizzards mean climate change is upon us....
Sue so raise your energy prices. When you get bill, send the same amount to the UN. See how easy that is?
Sue: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! You are really good! No, really!
