while an angry mans march on Washington is going on right now to protest insurance reform, there are thousands and thousands without coverage, homeless Americans without insurance. Take a look at this homeless womans blog, she has a piece about a homeless vet and a video showing what his day is like with no healthcare. Now there are some queezy scenes that you will be warned about!

Some comments asked why this man isn't under VA care. I don't know but the story is sad and shameful for a US citizen to be forced to live this way. It represents thousands and thousands though. These are the things we should be marching on Washington about!!

Good God Sue, that was HORRIFIC!!! You know I am all too familiar with the Homeless situation in the US. I sit on a committee for the homeless in my area.
There is a new grant (stimulus $$$) for US Vets. (Thanks to Obama) The grant is called VASH VOUCHERS, administered by HUD.

I have a few homeless guys that are on the waiting list for this voucher. I wish all homeless and displaced Vets could get this voucher!!! (I know that's impossible) It's a start though!!!

Some Vets just don't realize they are eligible for care.. believe it or not. Sad to say, they don't. And some are just too proud to ask for help, or it is too far for them to drive to get there, or they have no way to get to one, like where I live, it is 50 miles to the closest VA facility.
There are all kinds of reasons why a Vet would not go to a VA for their medical care..
