He just needs to go FDR on their asses. Bite the bullet and quit trying to play nice. We all know he tried and tried and tried, but they(republicans) just want to throw a temper tantrum like an unruly Wal-Mart child, since they are no longer in power and are in severe withdrawl. From what the excerpts I am hearing on Ed and Hardball he is going to come out swinging and we are going to be right, and we are going to love it...He is calling out the REthugs.. and even though he isn't going to say he is strongly in favor of a public option he is going to say he would like it. He has said over and over that he wants it, that it is a part of the plan, but not the whole of the plan.

It wasn't a CROWD that chanted it was one person who yelled You Lie or Liar.. it's really hard to tell.. I have the Video up at my place.. It was Joseph Wilson, (R,SC) who has since apologized for his shouting... and he has been censured by several other republicans... who were BOOING at him for yelling like that.
We didn't hear anything that he hasn't said before. The problem with what he said is that he cannot possibly accomplish it! There is no way on earth that he can cover millions and millions more people with similar coverage to Medicare and not have it cost billions upon billions of dollars. He is smoking something(just an expression) if he thinks it will not raise taxes and cost even more than anyone thinks. How can we do this? WE ARE BROKE!! Medicare is broke. Social Security is broke. The Post Office is broke. The whole government is broke!! The Chinese are imploring us to quit printing money like it is going out of style, because they are worried that they won't get their loans to us back!!
This has been rushed so fast that for years to come, we will be dealing with unforseen consequences of hastily crafted legislation. This is so dangerous to our country.

The only voices trying to get someone to listen are the tea party people and the grassroots groups calling for "real health care reform" in the form of tort reform, portable coverage, allowing people to shop across state lines for coverage, and no previous condition exclusions or loss of coverage due to illness. These would be REAL reforms that would actually improve health care and make it more affordable for all. President Obama made it sound like conservatives are trying to block any reform at all, which is patently untrue!
Another concern conservatives have: Obama is in the pocket of Unions and will most certainly advocate the unionization of health care workers and hospital workers. If you think prices are through the roof now, wait until the unions get their jack boots into the frey! What do you think will happen if your doctor is forced to stop your treatment in order to support a union strike? Do you really want unions having a say in your health care experience?
I have to say that I was angry that Joe Wilson blurted out "You lie!" to the President. Respect for the President should have been shown, and I'm glad that Wilson apologized and was the object of disapproval by Republicans.
Destroying the constituition? You're joking, right? Especially, After Jr. and Cheney did more to destroy the constitution than any other president in history. Tea parties DO NOTHING! Again, if they want to help, GIVE ANSWERS! Their silence on answers is deafening, until they decide to just say "no" like an ill-tempered child. Seems there were some republicans that got mentioned for their work in trying to help(oddly enough, McCain and Hatch), but I suppose you over looked that.
By the way, Again, there are more people getting Medicare and Social Security due to people multiplying like rabbits(simple cause and effect there), it's common sense. If people would just be more responsible about family planning, things would be better off. Trust me, if the population would start decrasing instead of increasing hand over fist like it is here and now, Medicare and Social Security would be well off. If the past administration didn't start the Iraq war and spend us into this mess to begin with, we'd also be better off. Even republicans like Mary Matalin realize and have admitted that THEY were the problem when it came to spending WAY out of control. I believe her quote was "like drunk sailors on leave". So, if raising taxes on the wealthiest isn't the way to go, then I suppose we'll hear a better idea later, more than likely much later. Clinton raised taxes and it worked, unfortunate, but it worked. Now, we have to rush to do something or the shit will hit the fan. Afterall, healthcare COULD have been handled in the last 8 years, but some ethnocentristic asshole thought it wasn't necessary. (note: I called G.W. and asshole, not you. Once again I never called you a name). The ethnocentristic apple doesn't fall far from the tree, especially if you recall what his mother said in the wake of Katrina. It amazes me how some people just seem to over look things like this.
I could care less about the respect issue and I hope their isn't a censure issue being discussed about Wilson. All censuring is nowadays is nothing more than getting your name written on the chalkboard. Folks like Jane voice exactly what's wrong with Congress, more shouting out, and no answers to be given, brilliant. Also, I love it when folks like Jane say things like "I'll stick with that", just another way of saying that they aren't open-minded. We will bankrupt the whole country if we continue with the system as it is now, or anything like it is now. Only some kind of major overhaul can save enough money to prevent the system from collapsing.
Most other developed countries achieve the same or slightly better overall health outcomes (measured by life expectancy, infant mortality, etc.) as we do, while their total health-care spending as a percentage of GNP is much lower. We can't afford not to reform the system.
